Daisy

As I pass the paper to Hunter, I feel him become very stiff behind me.

"How did you get this paper?" He asks as his fingers crumble the piece of paper in his hands.

"When you left to follow your parents, I turned back to go find my friends when I bumped into a huge man. I couldn't see his face clearly as his face was bent but he dropped this on the floor and as I picked it up to go return it to him, I read the message. It couldn't have been a coincidence, I'm sure of it" I respond my voice trembling at the end, I don't want to go through this again.

Hunter's arms tighten around my waist and it surprises me just how his presence calms me.

"Don't worry angel, I'll never let anything happen to you. I don't think I would be able to bear it" He says softly and tingles race across my skin.

I turn around in his arms and slowly he means forward making my breathing become uneven. He touches his nose to mine and he meets my eyes with his as if he was trying to communicate something with me.

Our eye contact break as soon as soon as he sets his lips on mine because my eyes flutter shut on their own accord. Unlike all other kisses we've shared, this one was very different. With every stroke of his lips against mine, I felt as if my heart was going to burst from the amount of emotion I was feeling for him. His hands move upward from my waist to cup my face and he tilts his head to get a better angle. My arms wound around his neck before one moves down to lay on his chest exactly where his heart is. His heart beat rhythm matched mine; it was beating wildly.

Like all good things, it came to an end, Hunter breaks away from the kiss a little too soon for me. I lift my eyes to his and he pecks my lips before doing it again and again and I sigh in satisfaction.

I want to be in his arms forever. I want to be his girl so badly and not because we're engaged to each other but because he really wants me to be. I want him to love me just as hard as I have fallen for him.

He grabs my hand and caresses the inside of my palm with his thumb.

"Common, let's get going, our engagement will soon be announced" I nod and we move out of the bathroom. As we enter the Ballroom, all eyes turn to us making us confused.

"Your engagement has just been announced, they're waiting for you to come on stage" Chloe whispers to us  and only then do I notice that our parents were standing on the stage smiling at us.

We walk to the stage hand-in-hand, and applause resound through the room. Hunter's father wink at us when he notices the tiny lipstick stain under Hunter's lip and I blush while Hunter remains unaware of what was happening. Someone walks up to us carrying a box, when he finally opens it, I see that it contained a gorgeous diamond ring and I immediately fall in love with the ring. It wasn't too big, it was just perfect. Hunter takes it and slides it on my finger all the while keeping his beautiful eyes on mine. More applause come from the background and everyone toasts to us.

  Our parents talk for a while before we're asked to go have our first dance as an engaged couple.
We move to the dance floor and 'just the way you are' by Bruno Mars starts to play.

Oh, her eyes, her eyes make the stars look like they're not shining
Her hair, her hair falls perfectly without her trying

And I tell her everyday.

He holds me down completely mesmerized by his eyes. I love dancing and I was surprised Hunter was a good dancer too.

And it's so, it's so sad to think that she doesn't see what I see
But every time she ask me do I look okay?

He leans down and pecks my lip making cheers and hoots echo all through the room. I use my thumb to clean the lipstick stained on his lips.

I let out a giggle as he spins me around and brings me back into making me crash into his chest and he grins back at me.

The song finally ends with a big smile on both our face and  the loud cheers from people makes me aware of my surroundings. I was so engrossed with Hunter and our own little bubble.

Another song plays and other couples move to dance floor while Hunter drags away from the dance floor into a corner. As soon as we take our seat, a shadow falls on us and I look up to see Taylor looking ugly as hell.

Okay maybe I'm just saying that because I don't like seeing her with Hunter. I have to admit that she looks gorgeous in a beautiful blue gown. When I look at her closely, I notice she had tears in her eyes.

"I can't believe this" She yells tears falling from her eyes rapidly and she tries wipe them but fails making even me feel bad.

She turns to face me "You think you can just waltz in and take what I've been working for for years? You will regret this!"

Before I and Hunter could react or answer her, she walks off wiping her the best I can. Hunter excuses himself and follows her and I Ignore the pang of hurt that goes through me. I should understand that they had history and he probably had feelings for her, even if they were platonic.

After a while, Hunter had still not returned and I decided to go search for him. I go outside to the garden at the back of the ballroom and look around but I see no sight of him. I stay outside to enjoy the scenery and get some fresh air. As I begin to relax, I hear a twig snap behind me and I immediately turn around to see the person there. I catch the facial profile of the person just before the person escapes round the corner and I freeze.

No, it can't be.

I think I fell in love all over again for Hunter in this chapter till he followed Taylor.
Oh well.......
