Tyler

I walk into my office staring down at the papers Drew had just given me regarding the installation of a small boutique in the lobby of my hotel. It wasn't a bad idea, but weren't we a little too late in the construction process to add that in?

"You're gonna have to run this pass Ms. Rose and her crew." I say as my eyes scan the papers. "See if she can work this into the building and then check with the our accountant to see just how profitable this would be for me. What boutique are we thinking about pairing with for this project because..."

"Tyler." A deep familiar voice booms throughout the room.

My words trail off as I glance up at the source and immediately become annoyed. I hand Drew the papers signaling for him to leave and he follows my unspoken orders closing the door behind himself.

"Dad." I clear my throat walking over to my desk. "Who let you in? I'm gonna personally fire them myself."

He laughs at my obviously unpleasant reaction to him being here. What did he want? Not only did he abandon our family after the divorce, but he stopped coming to see Hunter after he came out to the family and he sided with Grandpa about the situation with Amari. He had no reason to show his face.

"Tyler, you're just upset right now. I understand that." He nods his head glancing around my office. "You probably get upset a lot now that you're a big business man."

"Nope. I only get upset when idiots like you show up in my office unannounced and proceeds to take their time making their intentions known to all of the present parties." I say. "So?"

"Your grandfather sent me to talk with you." Dad sighs sitting in the chair on the other side of my desk. "You're not in the right headspace at the moment. You're mad over nothing."

"Over nothing?" I scoff. "Yeah, because calling Amari the n-word is nothing. Because calling my little brother the f-slur is nothing. You're right. I'm overreacting."

"No. I'm not completely agreeing with him on the slurs or anything, but... Tyler, he has a point." Dad says. "You have a kid with her? When did this happen? Does Danielle know?"

"I don't know." I roll my eyes. "And I don't care either."

"What do you mean you don't care? Danielle's your wife!"

"Right, because you never stepped out on my Mother." I mumble leaning back in my chair. "Because Mom fabricated that entire story about the pregnant girl Grandpa made disappear. You're so right."

"Tyler..." He starts but I wave my hands stopping him.

"Nope. I don't want to hear it." I shake my head. "Point is, if you would've waited to hear the story from me before you decided to side with Grandpa, you'd know about Kyler by now. You'd know that it took a minute for us to track him down and get him back because of the bs stunt Danielle pulled. But that's fine." I nod my head standing up and fixing my suit jacket as I begin to walk towards my office door. "Since you're worrying about me and my son, how about I do you a favor and track down that child Grandpa made disappear all those years ago?"

"Tyler..." I cut him off again.

"I don't want to hear it." I shake my head. "Grandpa thinks Mom only produced two disappointments and he said he should've chosen that other girl, let's test that theory. Let's see how the third child turned out, shall we?"

He stand up and we stare at each other for a moment.

"Tyler, don't go ruining someone else's life to prove a point." He says walking over to me. "Leave it alone."

"Nope. Fuck that." I laugh. "Now, I want to cause some chaos. We'll be in touch."

I open the door and gesture for him to leave. He glared at me for a second before taking in a deep breath and leaving. I close the door behind him and walk back over to my desk pulling my phone out. I wonder if Mom still remembers the girl's name.
