"And you're not going to tell me?" I asked as Hunter and Angel prepares to leave.

"No. I made a promise and I don't like to break my promises." Hunter shrugged.

"But I fed you." I laughed.

"I didn't eat it." Hunter scoffed. "We're stopping to get food. I was joking."

"So no one is pregnant?" I asked.

"Not unless you have something to tell us." Hunter side eyed me.

"This is why Angel is my favorite." I said punching him in the arm.

"Angel doesn't like you." Hunter said.

"Yes I do." Angel laughed.

"Who's side are you on?" Hunter asked.

"The right one." I said.

The Next Day

Amari

"Are you sure you should be going to work?" Justin asked watching me move slowly around the closet.

"I'm positive. It's just a bug." I said quietly. "But I think I got it. I can't move too fast or I'll feel nauseous."

"So you'll be walking like this all day?" Justin laughed. "No. Go get back in bed. I'll tell them I can't come in for training Today. You tell Lisa to reschedule everything."

"Justin, I'm fine." I laughed.

"No you aren't, baby." He came over to me and grabbed my hands gently. "Come on. Go lay back down."

"Amari!" We heard Lana scream as she ran into our bedroom without knocking.

We didn't even know she was in our house yet.

"I'm in the closet!" I called out to her and she came in the closet.

"Hey Justin." She looked him over before nodding at me. "I need to talk to you. Alone."

"Well, I guess that means I have to go." Justin laughed. "I'll be making those calls."

"Don't!" I called after him, but he was already gone with a made up mind.

"Girl, I had a dream about fish." Lana said quietly. "You know what that mean?"

"No, but I assume you're going to tell me." I said looking through my clothes.

"Yes I am." She nodded. "It means someone close to me is pregnant and I know it's you."

"How do you figure?" I asked.

"It's either you or my Mother." Lana said. "My Mother looks young, but she ain't."

"Lana I already told you..." She cut me off.

"The test was negative. Yeah, I know." She waved her hand digging through her bag. "So, I did some research and Google said that you can get a false negative if the hCG hormone, that only pregnant woman have, in your body doesn't react with the anti-hCG chemicals in the pregnancy test."

"What does that mean?" I asked giving her my full attention.

"That it could've been too early." She said pulling out a box of pregnancy tests. "You have to redo it, Amari."

"I'm not." I shook my head. "Why does everyone want me to be pregnant?"

"Because none of us have kids yet. If you have yours first, I'll have a reason to have mine second." She said. "Now come on."

I stared at her and she stared back. I didn't want to take this test. If it came back positive, this would all be too real. I'd have to tell Justin. We'd have to look into buying a new house that would be safer for a child and closer to schools. A new child appropriate car. A whole new lifestyle, really.

"Lana, I really don't want to." I finally spoke up.

"Why not? You have to know for sure." She said.

Her eyes scanned my face and she sat the tests down.

"Amari, whenever you're ready. Okay?" Lana asked.

"Babe, I called Lisa for you." Justin walked back into the closet and Lana scrambled to get the tests off the counter before he noticed them. "What's wrong?"

"Nothing." I shook my head turning back to my clothes. "What did Lisa say?"

"She'll handle the rescheduling." He said. "You sure nothing's wrong?"

"Yes!" Lana spoke up. "Everything is okay!"

"Lana..." I cleared my throat glancing down at the receipt that had fallen from her back when she pulled the tests out.

Lana hurried and stepped in it causing Justin to stare at her suspiciously.

"Thank you baby. I'll be out in a minute." I said and Justin nodded leaving again.

"Okay." I said quietly as I walked over to Lana. "I take the test, prove I'm not pregnant, and everyone can leave me alone?"

"Yes." She nodded.

"Come on." I sighed.

She handed me the tests and I went to take them while she stayed in the closet. When I was done, we waited for the results together.

"Did you set a doctors appointment?" Lana asked looking through my dresses.

"My Mom did." I nodded. "She thinks I look pregnant."

"Is the line on your belly dark?" Lana asked coming over to me. "Let me see."

"No." I laughed pushing her hands away. "It's the same as it's always been."

"Really?" She squinted at me. "We should go swimming."

"I'll pass." I laughed. "It's starting to show up."

Lana watched over my shoulder as 2 lines appeared on the test.

"Yes!" She cheered.

"No!" I whined falling to the floor.

Lana danced around the closet as I laid there watching her.

What am I supposed to do now?
