"Don't worry, I've got you,"  A soft voice says in my ear as I'm carried through the forest.

I don't know where I'm going, but I'm not afraid. The arms around me are gentle but comfortably carry me in a bridal hold. Whoever is holding me isn't even breathing hard. I'm not exactly little, but I feel light as a feather in this person's arms.

I hear the forest floor give way to a wooden deck, and my captor carries me up a few steps, and then the sounds of the forest change and muffle, so I assume we've entered a room. A door closes, and that confirms it.

"Place her on the chair,"  I hear a male dominant voice say. It's sexy and commanding but not harsh.

"Sorry,"  I hear a husky, soft male voice whisper in my ear as I'm set down sending shivers down my spine.   I'm not tied up nor restrained, so I wait patiently for whatever is going to happen.

"We shouldn't be doing this,"  a clear male voice whispers.

"Then you shouldn't have let them get away from you," that male-dominant voice replies back.

Who got away?  And what does it have to do with me?  I now have a hunch in whose presence I'm sitting.

"Dr. (L/N), please forgive the unusual circumstances, but if you please, keep the blindfold on."  The sexy dominant voice instructs.  I nod my head and try to listen to see if there are just the three males in this room or anyone else.

"Normally, when we have new employees stay the night in the woods, it's to test how comfortable they are alone at night in them.  You've done great, by the way.  But we know some of our special animals got into your tent, and we need to make sure that you are okay and that you understand our situation before you commit to working with us."

"What situation are you referring to?"  I ask.  Yup, it's who I thought it was.

"First, let's make sure those scratches are taken care of."

"Pardon me; I'm just touching the scratches,"  A deep, sexy voice says before hands gently check the tears in my jeans and shirt.

"I wasn't scratched much. Nothing deep that needed tending to,"

"Our animals are very special, and sometimes a scratch is more than it looks,"  the deep voice replies. His hands are quick and professional.  Not touching my body more than it takes to check each spot that I knew to be a tear in my clothing.

"Do I need to be worried, then?"  I ask.

"No, nothing broke the skin, so you are fine."  The deep voice was very reassuring and gentle.

"That's good to know. Can I take off the blindfold now?"

"No," repeated the dominant voice. "You were told in your interview that we are very private. We guard our identity very carefully. We find that it allows us the freedom to work as we need to."  Yup, it must be the Bangtan group.  I wonder how many of them there are?

"Unusual, but I suppose if everyone knew what you looked like, you'd get harassed when in town.  Your group is well respected. I can live with this condition."   This is a load of poppycock.  I want to see what these men look like.  Their voices keep sending shivers of pleasure down my spine.  It would be my luck, though, if they were as ugly as their voices were sexy.

"I'm glad to hear it,"  the dominant voice says. I feel hands take my arms, and I'm pulled out of my seat into a standing position. "We'll now return you to your tent.  If you make it to the morning, the job is yours.  Dr. Castor will give you the rest of the materials you need for your training.  It was nice to meet you, Dr. (L/N).

"(Y/N), please.  Feel free to speak comfortably with me."  I'm suddenly picked up bridal style again.

"Thank you (Y/N).  I know you have many questions; most will be answered tomorrow morning. Have a good night."  The dominant voice drifts away as whoever is carrying me leaves the room and steps out onto something that sounds like a wooden porch.  We go down the stairs, and the wooden walkway gives way to soft earth and the crunch of leaves and rocks in the dirt.

I'm curious about which member of Bangtan is carrying me.  Is it the husky-voiced man who was holding me before? I try to listen for any clues to their identity.  All I can hear is their even, calm breathing. Even his breath smells good. If it's the same person who carried me before, how strong are they?  I have my arms around their shoulders this time, and I can feel the strength under their clothes.  Whoever has me is lean and strong.  Gah, I want to take this blindfold off.

Please let these men be as sexy as my senses are making them out to be.

Wait. No, (Y/N). I'm an employee. I'm a scientist.  I'm a rational and dedicated woman. I'm not some silly lovesick fool who swoons over tight abs and sexy eyes.

"We're almost there," the same husky voice says close to my ear. His arms tighten for a moment as if he would regret putting me down.

Oh, who am I kidding?  As long as he keeps talking, I'm a lovesick fool.  How can any man's voice be that sexy? If I never get to see his face but work the next ten years with this voice in my memory, I just might be insane by the time I get to retirement.

His footsteps change, and I feel the plastic edge of the tent brush past me.  I'm then set down on the beanbag chair.  "Count to sixty before removing the blindfold," he reminds me.  I pause my hands and put them back on my lap. I hear the sound of a zipper.  He must be closing the tent door.

I only get to 30 before curiosity has me taking off the blindfold. I blink as my eyes adjust to the lamp next to the chair. The tent door is indeed closed.  I get up and unzip the door and step outside to look around.  I can't see anyone in the darkness.  Whoever carried me moved quickly.

What a night this has been.  Animals with purple eyes; sexy, mysterious voices?   Daniel has some explaining to do.

I go back into the tent and zip it closed.  I removed my boots and slip back into the now cold sleeping bag.  I lean over and flip the portable space heater to warm things up and snuggle in.

The following morning I'm standing outside the tent, breathing the fresh morning air when I see Daniel in a mini jeep driving through the forest.  It has an attached trailer, so I assume we will be tearing down the tent site.

"I'd ask how your night went, but the boys already told me.  How are you feeling this morning?" Daniel asks.

"I'm awake and feeling good.  This forest is peaceful.  The animals are a bit strange, but they were at least friendly.  Sort of."

"You met the rabbit and the wolf and saw the dog.  They like to escape and run loose.  Not particularly safe for the rabbit, but the wolf adopted it as its own, and is very protective."

"I'm not sure protective is the word I'd use.  Scared me to death when it launched itself into my coat to find the rabbit hiding there."  I point out the holes in my sweater and the tear in my jeans.

"All part of what makes this job special,"  he comments as we tear down the campsite.  Once we are on the way back to the Center, he looks over at me and sighs. "Very few know about these extraordinary animals.  They are easy to spot because they all have peculiar colored eyes."

"I noticed the lavender eyes,"  I've never heard of forest animals having that variation. Blue is common, but not purple.

"We have seven very special animals that live in this forest. They are rescues of a sort.  I won't go into what they were rescued from, but everyone who works here vows to protect them as well as the forest they live in.  This will be part of the NDA you will need to sign.  Most people find out long after they've signed the NDA.  You are special.  The animals came to check you out specifically. I don't need to stress the problem we'd have if you left without signing."

"Daniel, don't worry.  I have no intention of disclosing these animals, nor the men who protect them."  The memory of their sexy voices makes my heart race. I take a deep breath to hide the spike in my libido the memory gives.

"That's a relief. The Bangtan group would be ruthless if you were to go against them. That would be unfortunate as you are a promising new employee."  We drive in silence for a time as we near the Center.  He drives past the Center and down a road I had not noticed the day before. We soon come up to what looks like an apartment complex.

"This is where you'll be living while working here."

We walk in, and there is a large room set with TVs, comfortable couches, a pool table, and what looks like a combination of a breakfast nook and minibar.

"This is the main room.  Feel free to gather here with the others or not.  Each apartment is its unit, with a kitchen and laundry room, so you can be independent as you want here.  Let me show you what your apartment looks like.

We walk past the stairs and turn left and go to the end of the hall.  Daniel opens up the door, and we enter a spacious furnished apartment.   The living room and kitchen areas are combined in an open floor plan.  I walk over to the door on the left side of the room and see that it's a bedroom overlooking an open patio area.  Checking the other door on the opposite side of the living room reveals the bathroom and laundry area.  I don't even have machines in my apartment in town.  That alone would sell me on this place.

I turn around to find Daniel seated at the table with a stack of papers.  I walk over and look at the files and papers spread out on the table. I take a seat.

"These are the conditions and agreements for your work here.  This is your work contract."  He hands me a thick packet.  Looking through it, I see my salary, benefits, and what the retirement package contains.  My eyes nearly pop out of my head.  They are paying me 3 times what the normal pay for this job should be.

"This is the non-disclosure agreement I spoke of earlier."  He handed me a file that contained the paper that would protect the company's interests.

We go over the paperwork to understand what is expected of me and what I can expect of them.  I understand now why they make potential employees spend the night in the forest.

"It was a test, wasn't it?"  I ask him directly. Daniel looks up at me.  "To see if the animals would like me?"

Daniel smiles, "Yes, the true test is to see if the animals will react to your presence.  They weren't supposed to jump all over you, though.  If they had broken the skin, you'd have become very sick."

"Why all the secrecy around these animals?"  I ask.

"That will be a story for another time."  Daniel then collects the papers I've signed.  He hands me the key to the apartment. He then hands me my training materials and then leaves.

It looks like I've been hired.
