Instead of saying, "I'm damaged, I'm broken, I have trust issues" say "I'm healing, I'm rediscovering myself, I'm starting over. -Horacio Jones

A Couple Days Later...

Zee...

I groan in annoyance, looking at the time to see its 11:30 in the damn morning. Bricks' phone has been ringing non stop and it's annoying the hell out of me. I sit up to see Bricks is not beside me, I lean over his side of the bed to get the phone. I answer it without even giving a damn to look at the caller ID.

"Hello." I groan. The line is silent, that's when I pull back the phone to see its no name just a number.

"Hello!" I put the phone on speaker.

"Ima need you to calm the hell down." The voice says to me.

"You need me to calm down?! Bitch you calling my-"

"Look! I'm not calling to cause trouble aight! My name is Tacara, somebody said some shit about Xavier dying and he left me money or some shit. I just got the email this morning. Is this Jefe Gomez's phone?" I sigh deeply, running my hand through my hair in embarrassment. I'm so stressed and because Bricks has been getting these calls from unknown numbers, I'm paranoid. I'm even suspicious of him.

"I'm sorry. Yea this is his phone. It's just been rough since X died. I'm his sister by the way, Zee." She sighs as I hear the baby talking in the background.

"I'm sorry for your lost. Well listen, I don't wanna hold you, I guess we can meet tomorrow and talk then."

"Where?" I question.

"The diner on the boulevard. Say around midnight." I sigh shaking my head.

"I have to work tomorrow night. How about we meet there at 6."

"Ok yea that's perfect. I don't know why I suggested midnight." We both laugh.

"I guess because it's like we discussing business and you wanna feel like a bad ass. I watch too many mob movies girl. I be feeling like Scarface and shit." She continues causing me to laugh. I see Bricks enter the room in nothing but his towel, water just dripping from his body. I decide to go brush my teeth since he's finally done.

"Yea I feel you. But um yea, at six at the diner see you there." I hang up the phone, brushing my teeth. I know exactly why Bricks gave Tacara his number, because he knows I don't answer unknown numbers. After rinsing my mouth out, I walk back down the hall to the room. I witness Bricks sitting on the side of the bed with his towel still on. I hand him his phone, he snatches it sitting it down.

"You still don't trust me, do you?" He stands to his feet. I sigh looking down at my fingers as he shook his head making his way back to the dresser.

"Bricks-"

"Can you get ready please. I don't wanna be late helping my dad for Mother's Day Dinner." I nod, making my way to the closet for my clothes. I know I shouldn't treat Bricks the way I do, but the trust I have for him is ruined since he lied to me that one time.

I know after the first time, he wouldn't lie to me again but then again I have my doubts. Insecurities for the most part. I really believe it's somebody better out there for him. Why can't he see that?

Tyrone, Bricks and I prepare dinner while the twins took Mrs. Gomez out for the day. They should be back around 6:00 and it's just 3:10. I'm preparing the Mac & Cheese, Tyrone is cooking the chicken and Arabian dishes while Bricks bakes the dessert.

He hasn't said a word to me since we left his house. I know he's mad at me about this morning but I swear it's not intentional. I sigh deeply, as someone phone rings. I avert my attention to Tyrone as he dug in his pockets.

"Can you watch the chicken for me, one of y'all? I have to take this." He sighs. Bricks volunteers, putting his cake mix in the oven to bake. It's now just Bricks and I, which feels awkward because we didn't say not one word to each other.

"Excuse me, I need to put this in the oven." Bricks moves out the way, sighing. I put my mac&cheese in the oven, closing it. I turn around to move, but Bricks turns me back around pressing his front against my back. I clear my throat, watching him flip the chicken in the pan, looking back at him over my shoulder. He smirks, kissing me. I moan, pulling back while shaking my head no.

"Not here Bricks." I whisper. He flashes his white smile, turning the fire down low on the chicken. He takes my hand in his, leading me to the garage to his car. He unlocks it, opening the backdoor, lightly pushing me in. I sit down facing him as he tells me to lay back. I do as told, watching him spread my legs while licking his lips.

"No panties." He smirks. I shake my head no, gasping as he devours me without another word. I really hope this doesn't take too long, because we'll end up burning the food. I would hate to mess up dinner just to get ate out in the garage. But damn if we burn the food it'll greatly be worth it.

After what I believe 20 minutes or so, I sit up panting while crashing my lips into Bricks'. Of course after eating me out he just had to nut, then have another meal prolonging shit. I'm pretty sure the food is burnt by now.

"Damn, I ain't know you taste like that." He mumbles into kisses, kissing my soft spot on my neck making me moan.

"I ain't know you could eat like that, but move let me clean up." I speak softly, pushing him off of me. I climb out, pulling my dress down as I stand to my feet. I take my tote bag off the floor from the front seat. I enter the house with Bricks right behind me. I check to see if the food is burnt. Tyrone must of took everything out of the oven and off the stove putting on the second batch of things. Everything is fine.

"Everything good?" Bricks questions. I nod making my way to the bathroom, closing the door. I grab my loofa and soap out my bag. After a good five minutes of cleaning myself up, I put on a fresh pair panties. I open the door to the bathroom hearing Tyrone argue over the phone I'm guessing. No one else is here that I know of.

"I know I have to tell Zee!" I hear him yell. I back track with furrowed brows, looking through the crack of the door. All I can see is Tyrone's shadow pace the floor in full rage, running his hand down his face.

"I know Connor... I know!" He sings annoyed.

"So then what's taking you so long?!" Connor retorts.

"Well how the fuck am I suppose to tell her Connor you tell me."

"Just say it." Connor groans.

"You keep saying say it and tell her but you not saying shit!" Tyrone argues. Connor sighs over the phone.

"Just sit her down pop and be honest. Like look Zee you know we're like family and I would never do shit to hurt you. But I did something I kind of regret." Connor says. I knit my eyebrows.

"Ok and if she asks what? How do I put it in words?" Tyrone questions.

"Then you tell her." Connor screams.

"Tell her what!"

"That you got somebody to kill Xavier!" Connor argues. I drop my bag making the door slowly drift open. My eyes connect with Tyrone's as he just stood there in disbelief , with the phone in his hand. I furrow my eyebrows as tears fill my eyes.

"Oh shit." Tyrone sighs.

"What she heard you?! Pop!" I grab my bag, storming down the hall as Tyrone called my name behind me asking to let him explain. Bricks blocks my way confused, looking between both Tyrone and I.

I look at him hurt. All the shit he said to me, was a lie. And I'm beginning to think the love we once shared was a lie too. I shove him out my way, cursing him under my breath.

"Zee!" Bricks calls after me. I swing the door open, taking my heels off while walking down the path from the front door. Just then Connor and Cornelius pulls up, I stop right in front of the car in rage as they get out.

"So y'all killed Xavier!" I exclaim screw face. Connor and Cornelius look at me with sorrowful eyes, hanging their heads in shame. Mrs. Gomez looking confused just like Bricks.

"What is she talking about Tyrone?" Mrs. Gomez questions. Bricks grabs my wrist.

"Zee-" I shove him off of me in full blown tears. He furrows his eyebrows, stumbling back.

"Don't fucking touch me yo!" I sob.

"Yo what has gotten into you! We was just good and now you just gone switch up on some bullshit like w-"

"I hate you! You ain't shit and you lied to me! AGAIN!"

"What the fuck are you talking about! I DID'T LIE TO YOU!" He steps to me, towering over my 5'2" body. I shove him back repeatedly until he lost his balance and falls on his ass. I sniff in sobs, taking off the necklace he gave me for my 14th birthday, throwing it at him. He looks at me hurt as I look at him in the same light, wiping my tears. I dig in my bag, taking the key to the Bentley off my key chain, throwing it him.

"Fuck you! Fuck all of y'all niggas!" I sniff. Mrs. Gomez looks at me misunderstanding the whole situation. I just shake my head walking backwards, looking at them individually.

I turn on my heel walking off down the street, willing to break down but I don't. This is exactly why I don't trust people, or let people in. They end up hurting me, which makes me refrain from people period. They always do me dirty. Lesson learned though, don't ear hustle. It might just tear you apart.

"Zee!" Bricks calls from afar.

"Zee!"

"Fuck!"
