Y/N groaned and rolled over in her bed as she was awoken to the T.V on full volume. She could hear the voices of two news reporters. One was a girl and one was a boy. She couldn't quite make out what they're were saying so
Y/N assumed her mother was on the couch watching it. She groaned again, "cant you turn that down!"

Her mother didn't respond and Y/N flipped her pillow over her head. She didn't know what time it was, but she assumed it was still early.

Y/N stirred a bit before opening her eyes. She moved the pillow away from her face and sighed. She flipped the covers over her body and got up. She stretched her arms over her head and headed for the living room.

"Why do you have the T.V on so loud?"

"Shh!" Her mother immediately said, and Y/N rolled her eyes. She turned around and began walking to the kitchen. She stopped dead in her tracks when she heard a familiar voice speak.

"There is minimal damage, if we hadn't been there in time, the people you see behind us wouldn't be here."

Y/N spun around and blinked a few times. "Chat?"

"He's cute, isn't he?" Y/N's mother pointed at the T.V and Y/N looked away from it. "You cant even see his face.. how can you say he's cute?"

"Oh don't give me that- wait! Look at her- she's pretty don't you think?"

Y/N adjusted her gaze onto the T.V again and narrowed her eyes. It was ladybug, standing proudly with one hand on her hip, and the other gesturing towards the people behind her. "Without my partner Chat noir, I wouldn't have been able to save everyone."

The camera panned onto Chat noir and he waved, a proud smile plastered on his face. However, when the camera panned back onto Ladybug, she wore a serious expression.

"Paris is slowly becoming accustomed to more danger... fortunately, Chat noir and I will do our best to keep citizens safe, so please put your trust in us."

Y/N's mother sighed, "I don't want you going on your balcony anymore."

She turned the volume on the T.V lower as the channel had switched and the interview had ended.

Y/N scoffed, "that's a little dramatic mom."

"Is it? You heard what those two said. If I was home with you then I would allow it, however I don't feel comfortable with you up there alone."

"But I'm not alone." Y/N thought, crossing her arms. "I'll try my best not to.." She lied. Well, it was partly a lie. She really would try not to go up, however she felt compelled too.

It was almost like she wanted to go up even though it wasn't guaranteed she would see the person she hoped to.

"I have to finish an assignment, is it alright if I head out to study?"

"Yes, just make sure you're back before dinner."

Y/N agreed and smiled at her mother before walking upstairs to get dressed.

She threw on a pair of blue jeans, and paired it with a slightly oversized black t-shirt. Her stomach growled in hunger which was sort of a good thing. It meant she could go study at that little bakery. Y/N was desperately craving another strawberry shortcake.

"I'm heading out!"

Y/N shut the front door behind her and started walking. She shielded her eyes from the sun and squinted down at the sidewalk. Her mind wandered. Wandered to last night, to this morning, to Adrien... to Chat noir..

Why did he help her like that? Sure he was the one who made her fall, and sure it looked like he felt bad... but why?

Her cheeks heated up and she stopped dead in her tracks, "nope I'm not doing this today!" She shook her head and grumbled.

She arrived at the bakery and stepped inside, a smile plastered on her face. She was met with two friendly faces, they greeted her and she greeted them back before sitting down. Y/N put her backpack on the back of the chair and got out her textbooks.

She flipped through the pages and glanced up. She was about to go place an order when someone came up to her table. A smile on their familiar face, "what can I get you?"

Y/N paused for a moment before opening her mouth to speak, "one strawberry shortcake please." The blue haired girl before her smiled and nodded her head. "Coming right up."

She turned on her heel and left Y/N to sit still. She knew who Marinette was. She had gone to school with her for a while now. She probably didn't even know who Y/N was though.

"One strawberry shortcake!" Marinette happily said, placing down a small little plate with a beautiful looking cake on it. "Thank y-" Y/N was about to finish her sentence when she noticed a small little macaron also on the plate. She didn't order that, was it maybe a mistake?

"Enjoy, Y/N."

Y/N's eyes widened and she looked up to see Marinette walking back behind the counter.

She knew her name? She actually knew it?

It was such a small thing, all she said was her name. But Y/N still felt a surge of happiness spill through her body. She had known about Marinette for a little while now. She always saw her in the halls, every since freshman year.

And if Y/N was being honest, she always thought Marinette looked so fun to be around.

Brushing away her thoughts, Y/N picked up the macaron first and bit into it. It was delicious and tasted like strawberries.

Not only was the macaron good, the cake was too.

Perhaps both the desserts tasted better because Y/N already had a sweet taste in her mouth.

"Thank you for the desserts." Y/N spoke to Marinette, and held out money. Marinette took it and began grabbing change. "I'm glad you enjoyed it."

Y/N took the change and was about to walk out when she heard someone calling to her, "wait!"

Y/N stopped and turned around. Marinette found her way out from behind the counter and ran up to Y/N. She pulled out her phone from her pink jean pocket and handed it to Y/N.

Y/N stood wide eyed, and hesitated a moment. She glanced up at the blue haired girl and looked her right in the eyes.

They both smiled and Marinette said,

"Could I.. maybe get your number?"
