"Huh?"

Rain splashed down from the cloudy sky, hitting the top of Y/N's (h/c)  hair. She groaned and cursed under her breath. Of course it had to start raining the one time she forgot to bring her umbrella.

Y/N slung her bag securely over her shoulder and made a run for her school which was only a few blocks away from her house. Her light blue jeans were now soaked from the mass amounts of water that splashed up from the wet ground. She cursed again and ran faster.

Although the sky was full of clouds, and a faint sound of thunder could be heard, there was light peaking out from the darkness. It illuminated the puddles which Y/N quickly ran through.

The school entrance was in view, and Y/N slowly stopped running. She didn't want to run into anyone, or worse slip. She shuddered at the thought and took deep breaths, trying to calm her racing heart that was about to beat out of her chest from running.

It was at that moment, her chest heaving up and down rapidly, sweat mixing together with rain, that she realized. "I really need to start working out."

Y/N slumped into her seat at the back of the classroom. She gazed out the window to her left and softly smiled. Senior year. After this, she would be free. Free to get her own place, free to do whatever she pleases at night when she couldn't sleep.

That was the dream.

Her mind snapped back to reality the moment she heard the seat beside her screech against the floor. Someone had sat down beside her.

She didn't bother to make eye contact, or even look at the person for that matter. She just averted her eyes back to the window and let out a soft exhale.

"Are you new?"

A deep, soft sounding voice spoke from the right of Y/N.

She looked at her hands for a moment before locking eyes with someone she never thought would even bother talking to her.

Adrien Agreste.

His bright green eyes gazed into her brown ones with curiosity. Y/N blinked a few times before feeling her cheeks heat up. She turned away slowly and shook her head. "I've been in your class since the beginning of high school."

She didn't bother looking at his reaction, but soon heard him apologize. Y/N smiled and waved her hand to him, gesturing that it was okay. She wasn't surprised he didn't know her. In fact, she was actually rather happy he didn't know who she was. The last thing she would want is for someone like Adrien Agreste, to talk with her.

He was popular, kind, looked like an average 18 year old, but was actually famous for his modelling career. Y/N decided she wouldn't make eye contact with him again, so she tucked in her chair closer to the long desk shared with Adrien, and averted her gaze to the front.

"How come I've never seen you around?"

Great, questions.

Y/N shrugged, keeping her eyes at the whiteboard down at the front of the class.

That earned a chuckle from Adrien. "Not to fond of questions huh?"

Feeling bad for not saying much, Y/N decided to smile at him, a thing she really shouldn't have done.

"Not really."

Adrien shot her a dashing smile back and shook his head. Strands of silk blonde hair falling over his forehead in the process. "Me neither."

This surprised Y/N. Whenever she would see him in the halls, or out during lunch, he always had someone by his side.

"And why is that?" Y/N quietly asked, watching as his brows furrowed together in thought. "I've never been asked genuine questions. It's always about stuff that's visible on the outside. My father, my career as a model.."

He flicked at the edge of his biology textbook and averted his gaze away from Y/N. She frowned, this wasn't where she wanted the conversation to go. "If it makes you feel any better, you're the only person who's ever asked me a question like that."

Adrien's eyes softened and just as the teacher walked into the room, he held out his hand.

"Adrien Agreste, its nice to meet you."

Your eyes were stuck on his hand. Two black bracelets were crossed around his wrist. Along with a silver ring on his finger. "Y/N L/N.. it's nice to meet- you too."

The air always smelled sweeter after it rained. It was Y/N's favourite smell. She inhaled deeply and checked the time on her phone. It was a little past midnight, and of course, sleep didn't come easy.

She sighed and grabbed a soft grey blanket from the edge of her bed. She wrapped it around her body and carefully traversed up the ladder leading to her own balcony.

Almost every house on her street had one, yet Y/N had never seen someone out the same time she was.

A warm breeze danced around Y/N, sending a few strands of H/C to fall over her face.

She brushed them away and sighed. Her arms found their way to the edge of the balcony where she leaned against it. The moon lit up the tip of the Eiffel Tower. It was a beautiful night.

"You can't leave me alone to patrol! It's midnight, can't you keep my company?"

Y/N lifted her head up. She squinted her eyes in the distance where she saw two people standing on the top of a roof. They looked very familiar.

She could make out one of them. A girl?

She had a red and black tight fitted suit on, with a matching mask. Something round was strapped to her side, which Y/N couldn't make out.

The person beside her was tall. Probably a few inches taller then Y/N. A guy most likely.

His suit was black and Y/N squinted her eyes even more. We're those.. cat ears?

She looked down at her hands, trying to recall where she knew the pair from.

The news.

"Those heroes who debuted recently.."

Y/N pulled out her phone from her pocket and clicked on a news article from last week.

Apparently two heroes, one who was named ladybug, and the other... chat noir?

He was handsome. Although he had a mask on Y/N could tell he was good looking.

The girl also was. With blue silk hair tied into side ponytails, and her beautiful voice.

Y/N clicked the power button on the side of her phone, and her screen turned black. She glanced back up at the roof, expecting to see the pair.

But they were gone.

Y/N wrapped the blanket more securely over her shoulders and turned on her heel to walk back down to her room.

Y/N rested her head down on her soft pillow. She pleaded with her body to let her sleep, but nothing seemed to work which wasn't all that surprising.

She shuffled down farther in her bed and watched her stomach rise and fall.

Today was interesting.

She recalled the blonde boy from today and softly smiled. Perhaps this was the year she could interact with more people.
