Emily's POV

I had sat in the restroom for twenty minutes. I wasn't feeling so sad any longer. Jack was just trying to get the best of me and he had clearly succeeded. I hated how I had thought I could trust Jack, I should've known better. People were always warning about 'bad boys' and how you should stay away from them. I had to learn that the hard way. I had thought that maybe Jack just needed someone to open up to, but he really needed to figure himself out first.

My friends had tried to call me many, many times but I didn't feel like answering. I just wanted to be alone for a moment.

I knew I had to go to the cafeteria soon if I wanted to eat lunch. I opened restroom's door and took a look around the hallway. There were students here and there but mostly all students were having lunch.

I quickly walked to the lunch room, not wanting to get any more attention than I already had gotten. Thankfully no one was looking at me.

"Did I hurt your feelings?" A cold voice asked behind me.

God, I spoke too soon.

Jack was of course standing behind me. He really wanted to see me cry, didn't he?

"I didn't mean to offend you or anything" he said in a fake tone, "I just stated the truth." Jack shrugged.

I stood there, unable to say anything. Wow, this was not the Jack that I had watched the scary movie with. He was a completely different person. A person who wanted to hurt me and make me upset. And I knew he was doing this to draw attention towards us. He clearly wanted to be seen as the heartbreaker.

"Cut the shit Jack." Tristan said from their table. We were getting glances, once again.

Jack glared at Tristan, who shut his mouth immediately. So Jack was the leader in their group? Great.

I turned around to walk to the table my friends were sitting at. They hadn't seen me yet.
Jack clearly hadn't listened to me before when I told him to leave me alone.

Once again he gripped my arm. I tried to move but he didn't let go. "Why in such a hurry?" Jack pouted and looked at me. "Why wont you talk to me?"

He wasn't serious, right? Someone tell me he wasn't being serious.

"What do you want from me?" I asked harsly.

He just couldn't let me go.

"Me? From you? Nothing."

"Then why are you still holding me by my arm? Can't you just let it go?" I said quietly.

He looked at me, and I saw something flash in his eyes. They looked.. softer? No I must've been hallucinating. He switched his gaze to my arm and finally dropped it from his grip.

Thank you.

When I took a one last glance to his table all the boys were shaking their head disappointingly, and Tristan gave me a symphatic smile.

I didn't understand where Jack got this harsh, rude, disrespectful side. His friends seemed to be so chill and funny.

"Oh my God, he did not do that!" Alisha and Pauline gasped.

I had just told them what had happened and they weren't believing their ears.

"How could he?" Alisha's jaw was still on the floor. "He has no manners!"

"Yeah? He's a jerk! What does those girls see in him!" Pauline asked while glaring at Jack's table where he was surrounded by many girls.

"I don't know. Jack probably isn't a jerk to them. I don't know what I do wrong, I just wanted to get to know him." I sighed, picking up a potato with my fork.

"Emily just ignore him. Don't let him get to you because he obviously wants attention from you." Pauline said seriously, "He isn't worth your time."

"Well that's a little hard since we live together." I sighed sadly. I usually made friends so easily, and now that Jack acted like a jerk it made me feel really upset.

"True. But just please, try your best. He doesn't deserve your time." Pauline said again.

"She's right." Alisha gave me a small smile.

"But hey! We should do something fun tonight!" Pauline clapped her hands.

"Can we please go to your place since your parents aren't home today?" I asked, giving my best puppy eyes.

"Fine, my place it is then." Pauline laughed and we continued our lunch.

....

"So should we watch Mean Girls or 21 jumpstreet?" Pauline asked as we sat on her couch and made us feel comfy.

"What's Mean Girls?" Alisha asked showing chips in to her mouth.

Me and Pauline gasped.

"WHAT?" We asked at the same time.

"What?" Alisha was confused.

"You don't know what Mean Girls is?" I asked with wide eyes. How was I friends with her?

"No.. Should I?"

"Oh yes you should!" Pauline scoffed. "It's a movie that everyone should see!"

"Guys okay, I haven't seen it. Can't you just drop it so we could maybe watch it and relax!" Alisha chuckled, wrapping herself under the blankets.

"Yeah yeah but leave a blanket for me too!" Pauline grinned, stealing a blanket from Alisha.

....

"Remember what we said, don't give him your attention." Pauline reminded me when I was about to leave.

"Yeah, don't worry about it." I said closing her front door.

We had watched Mean Girls and 21 Jumpstreet and talked and talked. We hadn't even realized how time had flew. It was now 11.48 pm and I really didn't feel like walking to the apartment this late, but what could I do.

I opened our apartment's door really smoothly and shut it really quietly too. I didn't want Jack to know I was home. I took off my shoes and placed my bag on the floor so I could take a glance around our living room. Everything was so quiet and dark, there was no lights. I was hoping that meant Jack was in his room and hopefully I wouldn't see him tonight.

Before I headed to my room, I walked to the kitchen to take a glass of milk. Just as I was going to put the milk away, a pair of arms sneaked around my waist.

"Shit!" I turned around immediatly, horrified expression planted on my face.

"Where were you?" A husky voice whispered to my ear.

No Emily keep it cool, ignore him. I took his hands off of me and put the milk away.

"Em, where were you?" Jack asked again.

"Remember to ignore him." I remembered my friend's words.

"Why do you want to know?"

"I've been waiting for you." Jack put his arms around my waist again. His hands felt good around my body, but I knew it was wrong.

I let out a snort. Sure he has.

"Sure you have." I tried to free myself from his arms.

"Why won't you believe me?"

"Why would I believe you?" I huffed, wriggling out of his grip.

"I knew you were going to be mad at me." He muttered under his breath.

"Well you were God damn right." I shook my head and walked out of the kitchen. I was trying my best to keep my calm but he was really testing me.

"I'm sorry okay?" He followed me.

"For what? That you were embarrassed by me in the morning and didn't want to walk with me to the class, just because people were starting to whisper? Or that you practically informed everyone that I am still a virgin? Or maybe that you were a jerk to me at the lunch as well?" I raised my voice, and felt how a lump was starting to raise once again in my throat.
"This day hasn't been good to me Jack. Yesterday wasn't good either. You really meant it when you said that you would make my living hell."

He stayed quiet. So he really had nothing to say to me? He didn't even try to explain or justify his actions.

"Yeah, that's what I thought. Can't you just leave me alone? For your information, I don't care if you start a gossip about me for being a virgin. So feel free to talk shit about me tomorrow again." I felt a cool tear drop against my heated cheek, but I didn't care.

And with that I walked to my room and slammed the door shut.

He had gotten the best of me.

Again.
