Yay! A new update!

...................................................

Jack's POV

"I really am sorry, I didn't mean to scare you that bad." I apologized again.

"It's okay, really."  Emily gave me a small smile. She was was leaning against me, her eyes were focused on the television.

We were laying on the sofa, watching a SpongeBob movie.

"Nick was taken aback by your harsh tone." I grinned. I remembered the horrified expression on his face when Emily had snapped at him.

"I didn't mean to be so mean but I just wasn't in a great mood." She groaned. "I will apologize to him tomorrow."

"It was hilarious to look at."

"It wouldn't be so hilarious if you were the one I was yelling at." She chuckled.

"I wouldn't do anything to make you yell at me like that." I pecked the side of her head.

I meant it. From now on, I was going to give my attention only for her, and no one else. I got chills just remembering last night with Dana. I could've just went to Weston's place with Emily, but no, I was stupid.

Emily got up and went to the bathroom. She looked so cuddly with my big hoodie on.

I was lucky to have her. And I also was happy to watch SpongeBob movie with her. She had made us popcorn and hot chocolate. Believe me, those two tasted so good together. I loved all kinds of weird food combinations.

Emily came out of the bathroom with a frown on her face.

"What are these?" She was holding a two small things between her fingers.

I furrowed my brows. "I can't see them."

She brought them closer, still wearing a frown.

"They're earrings babe?" I chuckled confused.

Emily didn't look happy. "These aren't mine."

"What?"

"Jack, these aren't mine." Emily repeated.

They had to be Dana's. Fuck. Should I tell her the truth or pretend I didn't knew shit?

"Whose are these?"

"Are you sure they're not yours?" I tried.

"Yes Jack. I own like three pairs of earrings, and those aren't one of them."

"They may be Dana's." I mumbled and didn't dare to look at her.

"Whose?"

"Dana's." I stated clearly.

"What on earth are Dana's earrings doing in our bathroom?" Emily asked. I didn't know if she was mad or disappointed, but she sure as hell didn't look happy.

"She might have left them there."

"You mean yesterday when she was here after school?" Emily asked looking at the earrings.

She came here after you had left to Weston's.

That's what I should've said.

"Y-yeah. I don't know why she took her earrings off."

"What did you guys even do?"

"She offered me a ride home and came here to pick a few school things." That was the truth.

"Yeah right."

"What? You don't believe me?"

"Why would I believe you?" Emily huffed.

"It's the truth. She doesn't know shit about biology so I gave her my notes." I tried to explain. "I owed it to her, because she helped me with chemistry."

"Fine. If that's the truth I believe you."

I raised my brows, wow, I didn't deserve her.

"Yeah, that's all." I opened my arms for her, but she just sat down away from me.

Ouch. I kind of deserved that.

We continued watching the movie, with a tension between us.

Emily had been quiet for a while now. The movie was over and we both felt sleepy. I didn't know if I was supposed to say something or just let her be.  I didn't know what was going on inside of her mind, and I hated it.

I took my shirt of and saw Emily staring at me. She always did that, and I loved how she admired my body.

This time she furrowed her brows and came closer.

"What's that?" Emily touched my chest carefully.  "You have a hickey?"

Shit. I tried to cover my chest with my shirt, but it was too late.

Fucking Dana. She had left her marks on me.

"No, I think that's a bruise." I said, "Remember when Nick hit me?"

"That was last week." Emily lifted her head so she could look at me.

"Was it?"

"Yeah Jack, it was. Besides that bruise wasn't there earlier this week."

It was my turn to be quiet. I didn't know what to say because I didn't want to upset her more than I already had.

"You guys didn't just switch school things yesterday huh?" Emily stared at the hickey.

"Emily.. look I-"

"Why didn't you just tell me?" I hated when she looked sad.

"Dana was here last night." I didn't dare to look her in the eyes. "After you left to Weston's."

"You invited her?" Emily had a hurtful look on her face.

I nodded slowly. I was such a fuck-up.

"Why?"

"I don't know." I said meaning it.

"Were you gonna tell me about this?"

"No.." I said quickly, but it was the truth. I didn't want to mess up our relationship.

"So if I hadn't seen the hickeys and the earrings, you were gonna pretend like nothing had happened between you and Dana?"

I nodded slowly.

"Wow, you are disgusting. If you can have Dana, why do you keep playing with me? I'm not a toy you can toss around. I'm tired of yelling at you, but you really deserve it." Emily was frustrated.

"I am so so sorry. You have no idea how sorry I am." I took a step forward. She didn't back away which surprised me.

"Jack, your apologies don't mean anything to me anymore. You overuse them." Emily sighed and turned around.

"Please, listen to me."

"I'm really tired, I'm just gonna go to sleep." Emily folded her clothes. She always did that, even if the clothes were going to laundry.

"No, no. I don't want you to go to sleep upset. Please let me explain."

"Jack. You and Dana fucked and you clearly don't care about me. I get it." Emily said quietly, her words hurting my whole body.

She quickly walked out of the room. Instead of following her, I hit my fist to the wall, leaving a small mark on it.

Fuck, I was such a disappointment.

- - -

I woke up in the morning, feeling like I hadn't slept at all. Maybe because I really hadn't. It was so hard to sleep without her in my arms. Without kissing good night to her, or petting her hair so she would drift off to sleep better.

I would skip school today if it wasn't for Emily. I had to speak to her or at least see her.

I got up and put my gray sweatpants on. I saw my reflection from the mirror and the three hickeys were still there. Of course they were still there. Dana had made sure that they would last long.

I shuddered. I shouldn't be giving a thought to her.

I went to the bathroom and heard how Emily was making coffee in the kitchen. As always, she was humming to a song. She did that when she was in deep thoughts.

When I came from the bathroom, Emily had went to her room. I didn't dare to knock, so I just walked to the kitchen and took a sip of the coffee she had left me.

I wanted to burst in to her room but I didn't really know what to say. It was clear she didn't want to hear my explanations and I totally understood her.

I heard how her door closed and she started walking towards the front door. She passed me without saying a word, or even looking at me.

"Morning." I said quietly.

She turned her head towards me and replied with a "Good morning."

"So, you need a ride?"

"No, I'm walking with Alisha." She gave me a small, polite smile.

I was a bit taken aback, because we usually went together to school. "Oh, w-well I'll see you at school then?"

She just nodded, tied her shoes and left.

I rested my head on my hands and thought how fucked up I was.

- - -

"What are you gonna do about the situation?" Nick asked while smoking his cigarette.

"I don't fucking know." I sighed. "It's different than the other times, she was really upset with me last night."

"Why did you even fuck Dana?" Daniel rolled his eyes, "You're an idiot."

"No shit Daniel, you think I don't know that by now?" I took my third cigarette out.

"You just gotta apologize." Nick said, "And hope she forgives you."

"I guess so.." I said quietly.

Colin huffed, "Why do you even care Jack? You used to fuck different girls every night and then just toss them away. Now look at you, you are totally whipped."

"I know. Its not that I care for her, we just live under the same roof and I don't want her to be mad at me." I sighed, leaning on the wall. I wasn't sure if that was the truth though.

"If I were you, I would just apologize and if that isn't enough for her, then fuck it. You don't need her in your life anyway."

"You don't like her, huh?" Nick smirked at Colin.

"Nah, she's way too controlling and weird." He huffed, "You could do better Jack."

"I think she's nice." Daniel smiled at me.

"Yeah, well you've always liked weirdos." Colin rolled his eyes.

Daniel ignored him and said "Let's go inside, we don't want to be late from our classes." He waited us to put the cigarettes away.

"We don't want to be late from our classes." Nick mimicked him. "I don't care if I'm late."

"Well I'm going." Daniel said rolling his eyes.

"I'm coming too." I walked inside after him.

The bells were just about to ring, and I saw how Emily entered the classroom. Always on time.

"What class do you have now?" Daniel asked.

"English."

"With Emily?"

"Yeah.. wish me luck."

I walked fast to the classroom before the teacher could shut the door and claim that I was late.

Emily sat on her regular spot, taking her books out and opening the page we had for homework.

I walked to my regular seat, next to her. She didn't even glance at me. Great.

"Time for our favorite subject." I chuckled, trying to start a conversation.

"Yeah." Emily nodded.

This was killing me. I couldn't bare the coldness coming from her.

"Have you been smoking?" Emily asked, finally glancing at me.

I nodded, feeling guilty about it because Emily hated the smell of cigarettes.

"Emily, look I'm really sorry for what I did, but I can't change what happened."

She turned to look at me, and I noticed how tired her eyes seemed. I guess she hadn't slept well either.

"Jack, not now." She whispered looking around. Emily didn't wear any make up today, but she still looked prettier than any girl I had ever met.

"Yes now. I can't stand how cold you are towards me." I sighed.

"Well how do you expect me to act? Your actions have consequences, you know that don't you?"

"Yes I know that, but that I'm not going to fuck around anymore. Especially with Dana! I'm not even gonna touch her."

I saw how Emily cringed at my use of words.

"I don't care Jack. Last night I thought about it and realized that we are both single. I shouldn't get mad over you sleeping with someone, when I can do the same."

No, no, no.

"But Emily I've changed my habits. I'm not gonna fuck around anymore."

I don't know if I believed that myself.

"Changed your habits?" Emily was amused, "Since when?"

"Since today."

"Yeah, right."

"Trust me Em."

"Jack, the lesson is starting." Emily hushed.

"I don't fucking care. I want you to believe me." I groaned. She was so stubborn, and usually I loved that, but not now.

"Watch your language young man! That's not how you speak in my class."

I hated school. And especially my English teacher. I wanted to cuss at him but I knew it was only gonna get me in trouble.

"I apologize sir. Can Emily and I go to the hallway for five minutes, because we have very important stuff to talk through?"

"Jack, no!" Emily whispered next to me.

"But Jack, why didn't you two discuss it before this lesson started?" Our teacher raised his thick brows.

"We didn't have time and -"

"Well that's not my problem is it? You can talk about your 'important stuff' when this lesson is over." He said and started going through the name list.

Fucking finally the never ending lesson was over.

"Emily can you wait for me outside of the classroom? I have to pack my bag." I asked and she nodded.

I needed words from her. The silence was so frustrating.

EMILY'S POV

I didn't know if I wanted to know what Jack had to say. It was always the same. He is sorry, he regrets what he did and it won't happen again.

Blah blah blah.

"Is Jack in there? Because I didn't see him walk out?"

I snapped my head towards the girl.

Dana.

"Yes, he's in there. Why?"

She shrugged, "I just wanted to talk to him and maybe.. you know, get him to come with me to the janitor's closet." Dana winked.

Ew.

"Well you two have fun then." I smiled and started walking to the cafeteria.

I'm sure Jack wanted to see her as well, so why not just give them their privacy, right?

"Emily! We are here!"

I walked towards my friends.

"Hi." I smiled.

"You are in a good mood I see." Nick smiled, "Did you and Jack make up?"

"What? No." How did he even know we were fighting?

Nick seemed embarrassed, "O-oh, you didn't? Did you even talk to him?"

I shrugged, "Not much."

"Where is he now?" Ethan asked. He was chewing gum and his jawline really stood out. I didn't want to be mad at Ethan over some stupid prank. He always cared about me and was such a good friend.

"Probably banging Dana."

"Wh- what? Why would he do that?"

"I don't know, Dana just told me that they were gonna do it  in the janitor's closet."

"Ew, that's nasty." Ethan grimaced and Nick did the same.

"Yeah I know, but hey, young love." I shrugged and the boys chuckled.

"Are we doing something after school?" Nick changed the topic.

"I don't have anything better to do, so sure." Ethan said.

"Does Jack has to come?" I asked quietly.

Ethan and Nick glanced at each other.

"Well.. I don't know how we can stop him from coming."

I sighed, "True. I guess I won't come then."

"No, you have to come Emily. You don't have to talk to him if you don't want to, and we all are gonna be there so it won't be awkward." Ethan patted my back.

"Thanks." I smiled, "And hey, I'm really sorry about yesterday. I didn't mean to snap at either of you. I just wasn't in a good mood." I apologized and felt immediately much better.

Nick smiled, "Hey it's okay. Our prank was stupid anyways."

"In my opinion the prank was a success, but I don't want us to fight." Ethan grinned, "I apologize too."

"Aw, our first fight." I stated proudly.

Ethan wrapped his arm around my shoulder, "And hopefully the last one."

"Jack is coming." Nick said suddenly and my shoulders stiffened.

Instead of looking at the gorgeous boy, I tried to act normal and continued speaking to my friends.

"Emily I thought you said you would wait for me?" Jack sat next to Nick. His eyes drifted to Ethan's arm which was still around me.

"Yeah, well I thought you and Dana could use some alone time." I shrugged, not really showing any emotions.

"I don't want to spend time with her." Jack stared at me, looking very serious.

"But you did spend. Remember, like two days a go when I was with Ethan and Weston?"

"Emily goddamnit!" He hissed, "Why can't you just trust me on this?"

"Trust you on this?" I repeated, "Are you joking?"

"No?"

"Jack look, I've given you like million second chances and trusted you, so this whole thing just seems like a joke." I shook my head, "A joke to me and a joke to you."

"Emily why are you being so fucking stubborn? We both know you want to give me one last chance." Jack looked at me without blinking.

"No. I'm not going through this again."

Nick and Ethan were looking very uncomfortable at this point but Jack didn't seem to care.

"Why can't you just give me one last chance."

"I think it would be better if we were just friends." I stated as clearly as I could.

Something flashed in his eyes and he raised his brows.

"Really? Is that what you want?"

No.

"Yes."

Jack smiled a bit, "So you want us to be just friends from now on? Just making sure."

"Yeah." I nodded.

"You know that means no more cuddling, or making out or waking up next to each other?" Jack smirked. "I'm not gonna call you babe anymore and you can't borrow my clothes or wake me up in the middle of the night and force me to make you hot chocolate just because you're too lazy to do that yourself."

Jack was no longer gonna make me hot chocolate in the middle of the night?

At this point Ethan and Nick were on their phones, but I could tell they were listening to our conversation.

"Yes Jack, I know what that means." I smiled.

"Okay, well if that's okay to you, it's okay to me as well."

"Good." I smiled, even though I knew I was probably going to regret this later.

"So are we doing something tonight?" Jack switched the topic.

"Yeah, we're just gonna hang out. But whose place will it be this time?" Nick asked, putting his phone down.

"You guys can come to our place tonight if you want?" I suggested and Jack nodded.

"Last time you whined how we always make such a mess." Ethan chuckled.

"Yeah, but it's been awhile since we hung out there."

"I will text the others."

"What classes do you guys still have?" Ethan asked, still chewing the gum.

"I just have biology." I shrugged.

"And then your day ends?" Ethan raised his brows, "Wow, lucky."

"I have biology too." Jack said, "And I think Tristan and Alisha have it too?"

"Yeah, I hope Alisha comes today since she has skipped so many classes."

"We better get going so we won't be late from our class." Jack said and stood up, "Come on friend, let's go." He winked at me.

I rolled my eyes. Jack clearly thought that I was joking about this. Or maybe he thought that I wouldn't last long without his touch.

"We'll come around seven, is that okay?" Ethan asked before Jack and I left.

"Yeah, we will see you then!"

We walked towards our class. I didn't know if I was supposed to act different around him.

"So," Jack started, "how long do you think you can go without kissing me?"

I chuckled, "Oh, that will be easy. I think you will be the one struggling."

"Me struggling? Yeah right." We entered the class room and almost everyone was already there.

We spotted Tristan and Alisha who sat in the back of the classroom.

Seats next to them were already taken, but Jack didn't care.

"You guys have to find new seats because these were meant for us." Jack said to two girls who obeyed him immediately.

"Jack! No need to be so rude, we could've sat somewhere else." I was embarrassed how cocky and rude he was.

Jack just rolled his eyes at me and sat down.

"Hi guys." I greeted them and sat next to Alisha.

"Did you get the message?" Jack asked, "We're hanging at our place tonight."

"Yeah, Nick texted us."

"Great, bring drinks with you." Jack said casually.

"What? Why do we need alcohol?" I asked confused.

"Oh Em. We want to get drunk, it will be more fun that way." Jack smirked at me.

Tristan shook his head, "We can have fun without drinking."

"Preach."
