Emily's POV

Weston kissed me back.

It lasted good four seconds, but then he got pushed away, by none other than Jack of course.

"Emily what the hell?" Jack shouted at me.

"What Jack?"

"What the fuck do you think you are doing?" He said through gritted teeth and I could see his anger rising.

"Well what did it look like?"

Instead of answering, Jack turned to Weston, "And what the hell is wrong with you man? You didn't have to kiss her back."

He took a step forward, "And you. Why did you even kiss him?"

Well he sure was asking many questions..

"Maybe I like him?" I replied with my sassy voice.

"That's bullshit." Jack snorted. "You know nothing about him!"

"Oh yes I do."

"Oh so he told you how he had sex with a teacher from our school? And because of that, she was fired." Jack said smiling. But his smile wasn't the genuine happy smile. It was a bit scary.

"That's old news Jack." Weston rolled his eyes.
"You haven't probably told her how you fucke.."

"Shut your mouth man." Jack warned, raising his voice once again.

"What ever, the important thing is, instead of spending time with her, you were just smoking and hanging out with random people!" Weston growled.

"Random people? I always hang out with them when I'm at the party." Jack huffed, clenching his fists.

"Then why did you even invite me here? If you knew you were going to hang out with them and ditch me?" I asked, getting angrier at him.

"I don't know, I shouldn't have invited you." Jack spat, "You are always so clingy."

"What the hell?" I took a step back, "You're an idiot."

Jack laughed his sarcastic laugh, "Aw how sweet of you."

"Jack you have no right to come between us, when all this time I've been looking for you and when I finally found you, what do I see?" I paused to catch my breath. "There you were smoking and hanging out with random girls!"

"So now I can't have any fun?" Jack snorted, rolling his eyes.

"That's not what I said."

"Well you made it sound like that. Fuck." He had no right to be mad at me.

"Jack listen to me. You are the one who told me to come here, so we could have fun. You are the one who left me as soon as we got here. And you are the one who kissed a random girl!"

"Dana. Her name is Dana. She isn't a stranger to me. That's what matters."

"That's what matters to you huh? What about me?" I sounded really selfish, but to be honest, I didn't really care at that moment.

"What about you?"

"Are you really that embarrassed to be seen with me? I though we were trying to work things out." I stared at him.

"What do you mean? I'm not embarrassed to be around you." Jack lowered his voice and took a step towards me.

"Then why did you just disappear? I even asked Ethan if he knew where you were but he didn't know!"

Jack furrowed his brows, "I think Ethan knew where I was because he was there with me, before going downstairs. If Ava throws a party we're always in the same room as tonight, because that's where we gather up to smoke. Ethan should know that."

"He told me he didn't know where you were!" Why would he lie to me?

"Well that's not my problem if he lied."

Suddenly we heard someone shout "Weston, man! You need to see this, come here!"

Our heads turned at Weston, who had awkwardly stood there.

"Um, I'll be right back, okay?"

"Yeah." I smiled, "I'm going to take fresh air." I said and walked away.

I sat on the patio, looking at a couple who was making out. I heard how drunk girls screamed when the captain of our school's football team jumped in to the pool. Everyone seemed to be happy and not worrying about anything.

"Em." A voice startled me.

I saw from the corner of my eye how Jack sat down next to me.

"I'm a jerk." He sighed. "I'm sorry for the-"

"I don't want to hear your shitty excuses." I said quietly staring into the darkness.

"What?"

"You heard me. You always act so sweet after you have messed up something. I know you Jack. If I forgive you, you just hurt me again. It's not fair you know?" I felt lump growing in my throat. "And I know I can't really be mad at you for kissing another girl because we aren't.. a thing or anything." I said quietly.

"But I don't understand why you are so obsessed with me? Or with hurting me? Does it give you satisfaction when you see me upset? Because I really care for you Jack." I felt how a tear dropped from my eye. "I know I probably shouldn't but I do."

"Em I care-"

"You care about me huh?" I smiled sadly, "You have a weird way to show it."

"Listen to me Em." Jack tried but I really wasn't feeling like listening to him. I just wanted to be alone for a moment.

"Jack I think you should go."

"No Em. I get to be as stubborn as you are." He was serious, "I'm not embarrassed to be around you. I don't get why you would say so. You are gorgeous, and believe me when I say that, because I don't usually compliment girls." He said looking straight into my eyes, "I know there probably hasn't been a time when I haven't been a jerk to you, but that's just because I don't know how to handle these types of feelings."

I looked confused, "What do you mean?"

"I care for you Em. Something snapped inside me when you kissed Weston. I didn't like that feeling."

I stayed quiet.

"I just don't get why you like me?"

"To be honest I don't know why I like you. I hate when you snap at me, when your temper goes from 0 to 100. And when you are angry, you can be pretty scary." I looked at him. "But I think you are really sweet, I just don't know why you aren't like that all the time?"

"I don't know Emily. I've always been like this. I don't mean the things I say." Jack blinked. "I know I've hurt you."

"Yes you have. You really have Jack."

"Do you hate me?" His voice was small and quiet.

"I couldn't hate you Jack." I chuckled quietly. "I just hate fighting with you."

"I hate it too."

"Then can we please try to get along?" I whispered. "And I'm serious when I say that."

He pecked my cheek and mumbled quietly
"Mhm, I'd like that."

"Should we go inside? It's a bit chilly out here." We got up and went inside.

"Jack! Em! There you are!"

Our heads snapped towards the guy who had yelled us.

"Oh hi Lucas!" I said at the same time as Jack hissed, "Just call her Emily."

"Huh?" Lucas slurred. Well he was clearly having fun.

"Are you having a good time?" I switched the topic, not wanting to have another argument.

Jack rolled his eyes at me but put his hand on my back.

"Yea, I sure as hell am! What about you?" Lucas shouted over the music, "You look too sober to me, let's get you a drink?" He put his arm around my shoulders but Jack was quick to take it off.

"I don't think Emily needs any more drinks, but thank you for caring." Jack smiled to him.

Lucas chuckled and raised his hands , "Oh, I see. I'm gonna leave you two alone."

"Jack!" I turned to face him, "You scared him away!"

He smirked, "So? Would you rather be with him?"

"I mean he's a nice guy.." I teased him.

"Em.. Don't tease me." Jack came closer and lowered his hand so it was on my ass.

"What? I'm as serious as Donald Trump's hair stylist." I tried to keep my face as straight as I could.

"That's horrible Em, you're not funny at all." Jack chuckled shaking his head, "And you just ruined our moment."

"I'm hilariou-"

"Em shut up and kiss me." Jack locked our lips and I got the same feeling as always when we kissed. Butterflies filled my stomach.
This kiss felt so much better than the kiss with Weston. Why did I even kiss him?

"Emily are you okay?"

"Huh?"

Jack was looking at me with furrowed brows, "Is everything okay?"

"Yea." I rested my head on his chest. I could feel how his chest moved up and down, in sync with his breathing.

"Emily tell me."

"I'm sorry I kissed him." I blurted out.

Jack took a step backwards so my head fell from his chest.
"You are thinking about your kiss with Weston?" He asked raising his brows.

"Yeah I mean I didn't- I just.."

Jack was waiting but I was afraid to say anything because I didn't want to make him mad.

"So.. Who kisses better?" Jack asked quietly, small smirk playing on his lips.

"What?" So he wasn't mad after all?

"You heard me Em." Jack came closer again. "And I think we both know who kisses better." He breathed, "Don't we?"

I looked up to his eyes. Instead of answering, I put my hand under his chin and kissed his soft lips. I tangled my hand through his brown hair and Jack grasped my waist tightly, sending shivers through my spine. He bit my lip gently, causing me to moan quietly as he deepened the kiss even more. I could taste the alcohol as his tongue filled my mouth, but I didn't mind at all.

I pulled away, breathing heavily, "I think the winner is decided.."

"Is it? Huh?" Jack smirked and kissed the top of my head.

"Did you two finish?" Alisha laughed behind us.

"Good job man!" Daniel patted Jack on his shoulder.

I blushed, "Where have you been?"
I hadn't seen these two or Pauline for a long time.

"We were just um.." Daniel started, looking at Alisha to help him out.

"Yeah um, we were there.." She mumbled, "..there somewhere."

Jack switched his gaze to me and I chuckled, deciding that I would make Alisha tell me everything tomorrow.

"Have you seen Pauline?" I asked, searching her with my eyes.

"No, the last time I saw her was like an hour ago and he was with a blonde boy."

"I hope she's okay." I took my phone out of my pocket and saw two missed calls.
One from dad and one from mom.

"I have to make a call." I said quickly and went out again. It was getting colder so I decided to make the call quick.

My mom answered almost immediately and I was happy to hear her familiar, warm voice.

"Hi sweetie! Where were you, you usually answer quite quickly?"

"Hi mom." I smiled, even though she couldn't see that. "I'm sorry, I didn't hear you calling."

"That's alright. How are you? We're so sorry we haven't had time to call you. It's been such a hectic time."

"I'm fine, just missing you two." I said. I had always been that kind of girl who misses her parents even if they were gone for two days.

"But we'll be home in a few days."

In a few days? What? That meant I would have to go back home, and leave Jack alone?
No way..

"Oh, has time gone that fast?" I was surprised. I really was.

"Well yeah.. We were supposed to be here two weeks. It has been what.. ten days, hasn't it?" My mom chuckled.

"Oh true." I chuckled as well but it sounded forced.

"Well you sound excited!" I could tell my mom was rolling her eyes.
"If everything goes well we're leaving in few days, if not, we have to be here as long as we are needed." She continued. "Are you sure you are okay? Do you have enough money?"

"Yes mom, you don't have to worry about me. Just do what you have to do."

"Okay love. We have to go now, but dad says hi!"

I laughed, "Say hi back, I love you both."

"We love you too Emily, bye."

"Bye mom." The line went dead.

When I went back inside Alisha, Daniel and Jack were still chatting.

"Who did you call?" Alisha asked as she spotted me.

"Mom." I smiled little. I was upset. I mean, I was happy for my mom and dad and if everything was okay there. But at the same time I would've wanted to stay longer with Jack.

"When are they flying back?"

"In a few days." I shrugged.

Jack's head snapped towards me. "What do you mean?"

"My mom said they would come home in few days since it's been almost two weeks." I said, seeing how his expression hardened.

"I see." He growled. "I'm gonna get a beer."

I followed Jack to the kitchen. "Are you still gonna drink?" I asked carefully.

"Yeah?" He furrowed his brows. "So you're going back home huh?"

"Well yeah, I guess I have to."

"Right."

I sat next to him on the counter.

"You don't have to worry about living with me anymore." I joked but Jack didn't even smile.

"Don't be stupid Emily." Jack turned to face me. He looked so serious.

"I mean, you said that I was nothing special when I moved in."

Now that I thought about it, Jack had probably insulted me in this short time more than anyone had in my whole life.

"That was then." He huffed. "Can't you still live with me even though your parents come back?"

"I don't think my parents would appreciate that." I said quietly, swinging my legs.

Jack sat quietly next to me. Did me living with him really mean that much to Jack? I mean we would still see in class and we could hang whenever?

"Let's not worry about it now." I jumped down from the counter.

"I guess you're right." He flashed me a small smile and took my hand in his, "Can't we just go back to our place?"

"Why? I thought you were having fun?" I shouldn't have said anything about my parents coming back. It clearly had upset Jack.

"I am, I just thought it would be nice if we watched a movie or something." He shrugged, getting his phone out of his pocket. "It's 1.09 am, we have been here like five hours."

I saw how someone had tried to reach Jack. He had iMessage notifications on his lock screen.

He quickly put the phone back to his pocket.

Okay?

"Who was that?" I asked curiously.

"No one."

"Jack."

"Emily?"

"Why can't you just tell me?"

"Why do you care." Jack chuckled like it was no big deal.

"Whatever." I separated our hands and walked out from the kitchen.

"Em come on." Jack was following me so I started walking faster. "I'm gonna catch you, no matter how fast you go." I heard him behind me.

I tried to get lost in the crowd but he took a hold of my arm. "Listen to me Em. She was my mom, asking if I needed more money for the rent."

That was bullshit. "Then why couldn't you just tell me straight away?"

His eyes darted away from me. "Because I don't like talking about my mother."

I opened my mouth to answer, but Jack was faster.

"Please, I don't want to discuss about my mom here." His eyes looked pleading and his face gave away that he was uncomfortable.

"Fine." I sighed, "Some other day then?" I asked quietly. I hated giving in, but I understood that speaking about something serious at a party wasn't nice either.

"Yes, I promise."

"I'm gonna find Pauline and Alisha."

"Why?"

"I thought we were going back to our place?" I chuckled.

"Yes, but only two of us." He pecked my lips.

I stared at him with my pleading puppy look.

"For God's sake Emily." He rolled his eyes. "Fine, go find your best friends."

"I knew that would work." I pecked his lips before getting lost in the crowd again.

Finding my friends wasn't easy.

Heck no.

I had wondered around the halls and opened tons of doors, only seeing something I shouldn't have seen. Finally I found Pauline sitting on someone's lap and laughing. The man looked 25 year old, I didn't even know who had invited him since he looked way older than us.

"Pauline! There you are!" I practically ran towards her.

"Hi Emily!" Thank god she didn't sound so drunk anymore. "This is Aiden, he is Ava's big brother." Pauline explained and Aiden squeezed her sides, making Pauline giggle.

"Nice to meet you." I quickly greeted, and continued, "Jack and I are leaving, do you want to come with us?"

Pauline looked at Aiden and then back at me. "Yeah, if he can come too."

"Sure." I shrugged, "But first we need to find Alisha."

When we had finally found Alisha, and Daniel we went back to Jack. He had apparently found Ethan.

"Aiden! Man, it's good to see you!" Jack said immediately and they hugged each other.

"It's good to see you too."

I had forgotten that Jack knew Ava, and apparently her brother too.

"I couldn't find Nick anywhere." Jack informed us.

"But you found Ethan." I chuckled. "None of the girls were interested in you?" I joked and tried to look sorry for him.

"Shut up." Ethan rolled his eyes. "The girls were all over me."

"Whatever you say." I winked. In reply he just ruffled my hair.

"Okay love birds, should we get going?" Pauline scolded, shaking her head.

"Who's driving?" Daniel asked worriedly.

"I can drive." Aiden suggested and we all were okay with that.

- -

"What movie are we gonna watch?" I asked as we all got to our place. It was so nice to be home again. The night had felt really long and I was exhausted.

"I don't know, but where are we all going to sleep?" Daniel asked and sat down on the sofa.

"You and Alisha can sleep in my bed even though I really don't like that idea." Jack rolled his eyes, "Aiden and Pauline can sleep on the sofa."

"What about me?" Ethan asked.

Oh true, he was with us as well.

"I totally forgot that you were here with us." I chuckled.

"What's your problem Emily." Ethan was clearly getting annoyed but I could still see a small smile tugging from his pink lips.

"You can sleep on the sofa as well." I shrugged, "Or wherever you want."

"Em I think I'm too tired to watch a movie." Jack stretched his muscles. "But we can watch it tomorrow." He said and went to brush his teeth.

"Do you guys need anything?" I asked Ethan, Pauline and Aiden. Alisha and Daniel had already gone to Jack's room to do God knows what.

"Emily if we need anything, it's probably water, and we know where to get it." Pauline assured me.

"Fine, good night guys."

They wished me good night before I went to my room.

"Here's some aspirin." Jack put it on my night table, next to my water bottle. "Your head is gonna hurt in the morning." He took his shirt off, exposing his tanned chest.

"Aren't you going to change?" He looked at me amused.

"Huh?" I was too busy to look at his body.

"Don't stare at me babe, I'm embarrassed." His voice sounded so girly.

I laughed, "You sounded horrible."

"I imitated you." He took off his black jeans.

I slowly forced myself to look somewhere else. I took my pyjamas, while Jack was looking for his phone.

"Don't look." I warned, even though I knew he wasn't going to listen to me. I tried to open the zipper but couldn't reach it.

"Um, Jack, could you?" I pleaded and walked to him.

"I'm sorry I can't open it if I can't look." He smiled his eyes closed.

"Jack! Help me."

"Fine." He sighed and opened the zipper, being careful with my hair.

"Thank you." I smiled and started undressing. "It feels so good to have that dress off." The dress was quite uncomfortable, not to speak of the heels.

"That dress was sexy though." He smirked, "But this view is much better."

I stood awkwardly in front of him, only wearing my underwear, "Hush, now I'm embarrassed."

"You have nothing to be embarrassed about."
