Emily's POV

I checked if I got my keys and my phone. The two most important things. I shut the front door and walked down the stairs. I decided to walk to school even though Jack had offered a ride. I just thought it would've been really awkward after that little moment we had experienced.

I was greeted with a fresh wind when I stepped outside. I gave myself a pat on the back since I had put the hoodie on.
I put my headphones on and decided to listen to my new favourite song Please Don't Go, by Joel Adam. It was quarter to ten, so I would be just in time at school.

"Em! Hi!" I turned around and saw Alisha rushing towards me.

I hugged her, "Where's Pauline?"

"She's sick. Where were you yesterday?" She asked curiously.

"Erm.. I kind of slept in." I admitted. I was still ashamed about it.

"You? You slept in? You've never done that!" She gasped.

"I know! But Jack came to sleep next to me and-" I started to explain but Alisha cut in.

"Wait what? You slept with Jack?" Her voice was so loud that almost everyone turned to look at us.

Yay.

"Alisha! Keep it quiet." I hushed her.

"Sorry! But you- you slept with Jack?" She repeated confused.

"No! God no! I slept next to him." I facepalmed.

"Oh, why?" She wiggled her eyebrows.

"Well.. I actually don't know. We've just slept together for a couple of nights." I shrugged. I didn't really think anything about it.

"Okay? Has something else happened?" We started to walk towards our first class which was history.

"Erm.." I trailed off.

"Oh my, something has happened!" Alisha was excited.

"It's nothing."

"Tell me!" She nudged me.

"Okay okay. This morning we kinda had a little moment. And we were so close to kissing, I leaned in but he just backed away." I explained as we entered to the classroom. I cringed when I said that aloud and at the same time it confused me. Why did he back away?

"Really? Wow, I didn't know you two were that close." She looked surprised.

I shrugged. We sat down and took our books out.

"I don't even know what is going on between us." I muttered.

"Jack's stupid if he doesn't -"  Alisha started but stopped immediatly when we saw that Jack rolled in with his friends.

"If I don't what?" Jack smirked. Great, he had heard Alisha.

"Nothing!" Alisha waved him off and I probably looked like a red tomato. At least that's what I felt like.

"Hi Em." Tristan sat next to me.

"Oh, hi Tristan." I smiled.

Jack just rolled his eyes and sat behind us with Nick.

"Stop it Jack." I hissed through my teeth.

It was the second period, English, and unfortunately Jack and I shared it as well.
He had been kicking the back of my chair almost the whole lesson, and I was so close not to jump on his neck and strangle him.

"Would you stop it, you idiot!" I growled, turning around.

I think I said it too loud because my teacher turned to look at me with his brows raised.
"Excuse me Emily?"

"No, no I said it to Jack, becau-" I tried to explain.

"Do not blame others. Please behave or I have to kick you out of my class." Mr. Jones warned.

The class chuckled quietly before continuing working.

"Yeah, don't blame me for your own mistakes." Jack whispered behind me, so quietly that nobody else couldn't hear it.

What did he mean by that? I was probably over thinking this whole situation but it sounded like he wasn't just referring to this moment. But he couldn't be talking about the moment we had this morning, could he? That it wasn't his fault that I almost kissed him.
Well it wasn't his fault, but he kind of led me on..

"Ugh, I just hate biology." Alisha sighed as we opened our lockers and put our bags and books away.

"English wasn't any better." I huffed, "Jack kept kicking my chair and my teacher almost kicked me out."

"Woah, what's wrong with him?" Alisha asked.

"No idea." I snorted.

Thank God we had lunch next. As we entered to the cafeteria, the first thing I saw was Jack and some blonde girl all over each other. I felt sick in my stomach. So he couldn't kiss me but he was making out with some random girl?

Okay, I didn't care.

Alisha must have seen my face because she squeezed my hand and gave me a small smile. She made me almost forget Jack when she told me a funny thing that had happened to her earlier today.

"See you in the next period." A voice behind me said. I knew without looking that it was Jack, but how did he know what classes I got?

I just stared at Alisha and rolled my eyes.

"So you can kiss other people but you can't kiss Em?" Alisha said with her cocky attitude.

I looked at my friend horrified. Well if this wasn't embarrassing I didn't know what was. Sometimes her attitude was great and I wished I had the courage to tell people off, but right now she could've just stayed quiet.

"I don't know what you are talking about." He shrugged.

What an ass..

"You know exactly what I'm talking about. Why didn't you kiss her this morning?" Alisha asked. She had always been the 'straight to the point' girl and was always defending her friends.

Around this time everyone was staring at us. Great, just what I wanted...
Not.

Jack raised his brows, "So are you telling me you always kiss everyone who tries to kiss you?" Jack glanced at me, "I mean she was the one trying to kiss me."

What a way to be humiliated.

I stood up and walked away.

Why would he do that? Did I do something wrong?

I knew he didn't like me or anything, but come on, why did he have to be so rude. It was like Jack turned into a whole another person when he came to school. I had thought that maybe he would be different today but clearly I was wrong.

I walked to my locker and leaned my forehead against the cool metal.

"Hey, Jack is an ass, forget him." A sympathetic voice said behind me. I turned around and saw Tristan standing there. He pulled me into a hug which I gladly accepted.

"Yeah I know." I said quietly.

"Usually he's funny and cool, I guess you just have to get to know him properly." Tristan laughed and pulled apart.

"That's kind of hard since he seems to hate me."
"Anyway, what do you have next?" I changed the subject.

"Chemistry, you?" Tristan asked.

"Same! Let's go grab your books." I chirped and took quickly my books out of the locker.
I didn't know why someone as nice as Tristan hung out with Jack.

I checked my phone to see a text message from my bestfriend.

When we stepped in to the classroom my eyes locked immediately with a beautiful pair of green eyes.

Don't look at him.

I forced my eyes to look somewhere else while I sat down infront of the class. Jack sat behind, so at least this time he couldn't annoy me.

"Is it okay if I sit next to you?" Tristan mumbled, his cheeks turning light red.

"Of course." I winked, patting the seat next to me.

"Tristan and Emily, this is the last warning, please be quiet."

"Yes sir." Tristan tried to keep a straight face.

Tristan and I were trying to find some funny pics from google and show them to each other.
Our teacher had gave us many warnings but we didn't care about them.

"Look at this shit." Tristan whispered showing me a meme of Donald Trump.

I immediately started to laugh.

"Tristan and Emily, get out, you're going to have detention." Mr. Johnson raised his voice.

Oh no.

"No, no please, I promise we're going to behave now. You can take our phones for the rest of the class." I tried.

Mr. Johnson thought about it for a moment before walking to us and taking our phones away. I didn't know why he hadn't done it in the first place.

Tristan and I looked at each other and sighed. Huh, thank God we didn't get detention.

--

"Last period was so funny!" I laughed as we stepped out of the classroom.

"I know right, too bad that the teacher ruined it."

"Does your school end now? We could go to my place and I don't know, watch a movie or something?" I asked while checking the time.

"I have my football practise, but I can come after that?" Tristan smiled.

"Yeah sure, bring me some food when you come." I winked before walking away.

Today was the shortest school day I got, and it still felt like eight hours..

I dropped my school bag on the floor and jumped on the sofa. I scrolled through the series that I had watched until I found my favorite, Orange is the new black. I had started watching it about a week ago and I was now on season three.

Just as the opening credits were about to start, I heard how Jack came home. I had thought he would be still at school. He didn't even glance at me yet say hello. He went straight to his room, shutting the door.

I had watched three episodes when Tristan send me a message letting me know he was on his way. About ten minutes after the doorbell rang. Tristan stood outside of the door, his hair was wet from taking a shower.

He had a McDonalds bag which he happily handed to me. "I hope you like nuggets. But if you don't, don't worry there's some fries and burgers, just choose what you want." Tristan chuckled and took off his shoes.

"I love nuggets! But don't worry, I can eat the burgers and fries too." I laughed.

"Is Jack home?"

"Yes."

"Oh."

"Do you want him to hang out with us?" I took a bite of the delicious burger.

"No no. He haven't answered to any of my texts so I was just wondering where he was." Tristan explained.

"Oh that's strange."

"He's probably just having a bad day."

"Feels like he has bad days every other day." I commented and offered him fries.

Tristan chuckled, "Yeah. Sometimes it does feel like that."

We ended up watching Orange is the new black, because apparently Tristan had been watching it too.

"Aw, look what we got here. The happy couple." Jack's voice boomed as he came out of his room.

Tristan chuckled and I rolled my eyes, resting my head on his shoulder.

"Make some room for me" Jack sat next to me, wiggling his ass, "So what are we watching?"

"Orange is the new black." Tristan focused on the show.

"C'mon, can't we watch something else?" Jack took the remote.

"No!" Tristan and I said immediatly.

"Woah okay." Jack put the remote down and rested his arm on the back of the sofa, just behind my head.

Don't look at him, just ignore him.

"I got to go now but it was nice to hang out, see you tomorrow!" Tristan said before shutting the door.

We had watched Netflix for three hours, but then Tristan had to go and babysit his little sister.

"So, do you like him?" Jack was right in front of me when I turned around.

"None of your business." I said and tried to pass him but he didn't budge.

He grinned down at me "What do you even see in him?"

"Well first of all, he isn't a jerk, and annoying and rude. He's nice and funny." I stated the truth.

"Good girl going for the good boy. I see, I see."

I really didn't like Tristan in that way. He was just a good friend. But Jack didn't have to know that. It was funny to mess with him.

Suddenly I was pinned against the wall.

"I bet he can't do this." Jack whispered and crashed his perfect lips into mine.
