Calix's POV
We were about 46 minutes away from New York and the sky was dark, revealing beautiful and bright stars.

I drove around the town looking for a rest stop to look at the stars. I finally found the perfect place and parked the car. It was surrounded with tall trees and a cliff, surrounded by railing. It was a nice little area where you could get a good view of the stars. "Why are we here?" i unbuckled my seat belt and opened the door. "A little break."

My world went black. I felt trapped, all alone in an absent dimension, void of anything and everything except for a me. Weak and broken. She makes me feel weak and vulnerable.I hate feeling weak and vulnerable. A soft melodic voice echoed in my ear braking me out of my thoughts.

"Calix? Calix are you alright?" I took a deep breath trying to reconnect my brain to my body.

"Yeah Im fine but" I subtly regained my breath, "Eleanor, I'm sorry for how I treated you earlier." she looked up at me with a critical glare for a second before softening her eyes. She let out a small sigh and looked away, "Are you going to keep acting like that?" I shook my head giving her a quick "No, I'll try not to at least."

She watched me for a moment, "You're forgiven then." she broke our eye contact for a moment but quickly looked back at me. "Why were you so upset?"

"Hey, that nosiness is what got you into this situation, do you really want to take that risk again?" I joked, pinching her cheek playfully.

She smacked my hand away and rolled her eyes in response. "No, i guess I don't" she looked up at the sky in awe. "Aren't the stars beautiful tonight?"i said looking at her. She looked back at me, giving me a gentle smile. "Yeah, they're very beautiful, do you look at the stars often?"

"No, there's so much going on down here already, I don't usually have the time."She glanced over at me, fidgeting her fingers. "So what made you decide to take us here tonight?" I placed my hand on the back of my neck, rubbing it slightly. "I wanted to make it up to you, I know it's not much but I-"

Her eyes gleamed with amazement as she looked up at the sky. "It might not be much, but I appreciate the effort."

A giddy feeling started to well up inside inside of me, the weakness I had felt had felt melted away, making me forget it was ever present. "It's getting kind of cold, do you want to stay out here or go back inside?" She looked at the ground as she decided. She gave me a small nod. I grabbed her hand and lead her back to the car. We both got in and i turned on the heater.

She shot me a beautiful smile "Thank you" I returned the smile and said "You're welcome." as i buckled up and drove off.
