Kyle POV

I entered the club where the party was held. It was a 17+ party. The whole dance floor glowed with yellow and red laser beams from the rotating lights in the ceiling. The party was packed and most people were dancing either with a partner or by themselves. I looked around for Caleb and Sawyer and saw Caleb sitting in the booth. I made my way there and sat beside him.

"Hey man," We fist-bumped.

"Where's Sawyer?" I yelled in Caleb's ear. He pointed towards the dance floor where Sawyer was dancing with a girl.

"He says he might score with her," he yelled back.

"Cool."

Half an hour passed and Caleb had gone digging for a chick. People were still dancing and sweating on the dance floor. I took a cigarette from my pocket and lit it with the lighter on the table. I put it in between my lips and puffed out smoke. I continued to smoke alone till a girl decided it was okay to disturb me.

"Hey handsome," she whispered into my ear. Her hand moving from my chest slowly down to my member. "I can make you feel good tonight." I looked at her and she was already fumbling with my belt. I put my hand on hers stopping her from continuing. This was uncomfortable.

"Get off," I said with a deadly glare. She got her hands off looking disappointed.

"Just a blow job nothing more, no strings attached," She smiled.

"Leave," I said, giving her the same deadly glare.

"Hand job?"

"No"

"Smooch."

"No"

"Okay a kiss"

"No, and can you leave now?!" I half yelled through the noise. I was getting tired of her pester. There are so many guys here that would love to have her so she should just beat it.

"You're mean. You know that right," She whined.

I didn't say anything, I just looked straight ahead. Maybe if I ignore her she would leave.

"Please," She tugged at my arm and I swear I was already getting pissed.

"How old are you?"

"Sixteen," she smiled.

"Do your parents know you beg guys for sex?"

"Why would they care?" Her smile slowly forming into a frown.

"Go home. You're sixteen you shouldn't even be here," I said looking away from her and back to the dance floor.

"It's just sex it's not like you're gonna die," she mumbled bowing her head & fiddling with the hem of her gown but loud enough for me to hear.

"It's just sex, but I don't have just sex with a whiny kid."

"I'm not a kid besides it's not like you're old," she said clearly annoyed.

"I'm old enough," I point a finger to her, "You? Not so much."

"Whatever," she said standing up preparing to walk away. Until she looked back, "I'm not a kid!" and she stomped her foot away.

Lilia POV

"Swing your hips

To your favourite song

Walk confidently in those heels

You are a woman

You are strong!

Short or long

Your hair is perfectly in place

Black, yellow, red or white

Put a smile on that pretty face

The world is a better place with you

Fat, slim, short or tall

You're so beautiful

You're the perfect definition of pulchritude

You are a woman!

A woman of virtue

You deserve to be loved

You deserve to be shown off

Believe me

Any man will be lucky to have you".

I closed the book and a smile slowly crept up. Anytime I read one of Naheemah Raji's poems that talks about self-love, I tend to smile to myself. It's the only thing that makes me smile these days. Her book of poems is so relatable and intelligently written. I hope to meet her someday though. My smile faded immediately when I heard a loud bang downstairs. I rose from my bed immediately, locked my door and turned off the lights in my room. I wasn't planning on getting beaten today because I still feel a little bit sore from yesterday.

I can keep him away and leave for school really early before he wakes. I took out a granola bar from my backpack and started eating while doing my assignment using my phone's torch. I finished and slowly drifted up to sleep.

"BANG BANG"

I woke up in fear and scared to hear someone banging my door. "Lilia you bitch! Open the damn door" I got scared and rested my back on my headboard and my head to the wall pulling the covers closer to my body as I stared at the door in fear that he might barge in.

"Please leave please just leave," I begged, muttering to myself.

"Lilia! Lilia!" He yelled. I was still not gonna open the door.

"I swear I'm gonna kill you if you don't open this door now!"

I shivered at those words and fear engulfed me. "Please mom, help me," I prayed to myself.

"I swear I'm gonna break this door!" CRASH! I heard a bottle being throw at my door and shatters. I couldn't help the tears that were streaming on my cheeks. I was terrified. Another bottle was heard being thrown at my door and I heard my dad scream "You bitch! See what you did!" He groaned in pain. I'm guessing the bottle pierced him. He continued to groan in pain and I was tempted to go help him but I just stayed put.

A few minutes later everywhere was quiet and I guess he gave up and retired to his room. I breathed out a sigh of relief and look at my phone to check the time "3:06am" It read. Great I can go back to sleep.

                                                                                           ***

I'm waiting for the school bus blocks away from my house. I had to leave before my dad wakes which means me being earlier than the school bus. I obviously can't wait in front of my house so I'm blocks away seating on the park bench and slowly tapping my foot to the rhythm of my hums.

HONK! HONK!

Finally, the bus is here and I enter. Students are seen chattering and making one hell of a noise. My self-esteem drops as I slowly drop my head and make my way to the seat at the back of the bus. I sit quietly and look outside the window while the bus moves steadily along the road.

The bus arrives at the parking lot & I get out quick. The noise on the bus was unbearable. It's so early in the morning where did they get that kind of energy. The morning is supposed to be quiet and serene but they just had to ruin it will all their chattering.

I make my way to the school as I receive a text. I opened it and saw the message is from Paige.

Paige💪: Hey girl what's up, I'm in front of your house.

That's when I remembered I forgot to tell her I would be taking the school bus today.

Lilia💕: I'm so sorry Paige, I forgot to tell you I will be riding with the school bus today.

I just hope she doesn't kill me for this.

Paige💪: What?! You are really weird nowadays besides where were you yesterday?

Lilia💕: I would explain when you get to school. Just hurry, school starts in twenty minutes.

Paige💪: Yeah yeah on my way. And you better have a great explanation as to why you stabbed school.

I looked at the last message and sighed. Great, I have to make up an explanation for Paige. I got to my locker and took out my book for the first period then went to Paige's locker to wait for her there.

After waiting for about fifteen minutes Paige arrived.

"Hey girl," She hugged me.

"Hi," She opened her locker and got her books out. "Now where were you yesterday?" She asked turning to me.

"I just didn't feel like coming to school."

"That's a lie, you would take any excuse not to stay at home so what really happened?" She wasn't lying about that last part.

"I had a really bad migraine so my dad thought it will be best if I just stayed home."

She studied my face slowly as if she was expecting a different answer.

"Are you sure? You know we're friends, you can tell me anything girl," She rubbed my arm softly.

"Sure," I let out a forced smile. I can't tell Paige, yes we're friends, I think, but I can't just tell her. I'm scared. My dad said I'm dead if anyone knows about it and also the person I told. I don't want Paige to die, she has a good life and a family that cares about her, I can't let her lose all that. She deserves happiness.

"So how's your head now?"

"It's better but it still hurts a little," I lied.

"Oh sorry dear," she smiled. I couldn't help but smile back. I can't imagine Paige not being my friend, I would be a nobody who talks to no one. "C'mon we're already late for class," I said dragging Paige by her arm.

I sat through the first period in kind of a daze, not really hearing anything the teacher said. I managed to write down my assignment and shuffled toward the door when the bell rang without caring about Paige. It seemed I wasn't the only one in a daze and ready to leave Miss Peterson's class because everyone bottlenecked at the doorway. As I squeezed my way through I felt someone grab my arm and I found myself plastered against Kyle.

Startled, I looked up at him wondering why he was there in the first place. He didn't say anything, he just stood there looking down at me. I took a moment to admire his perfect brown hair and sniff his glorious scent. I had no idea what type of cologne he wore but if I could wrap myself in that scent preferably by his arm being around me then I would die happy. I thought the moment would last forever until I was ripped off his arms by some girl and pushed out of class.

I just stood outside the class shocked that I just said those things about Kyle. What was I thinking, liking a player? Fantasizing about Kyle Rogers? Kick him out of your brain Lilia it was a mistake don't ever let his name pop into your head again.

"Lilia let's go," Paige huffed. Clearly, she wasn't in a good mood.

"What's up?"

"I just hate the rush, getting out of the class. My toe was stepped on multiple times."

"Oh sorry."

"Yeah, thanks let's just get out of here."
