"Oh my god! Did you hear? Aaron Reeves just arrived on a motorcycle!" a blonde beside me exclaims.

"Seriously? That is so hot!" the blonde's friend replies.

"Oh god are you talking about Aaron Reeves? I heard that on his way to school today he had a race with a gang of riders and he totally won. Now that is hot," another cuts in.

I roll my eyes. The three girls beside me keep talking as I throw my books into my locker.

"Of course he won, have you seen him? He's like the definition of danger," one of them says.

I slam my locker.

"That doesn't even make sense," I say flatly.

The three girls turn their heads and look at me, six eyes glaring my way.

"What?" the same one that spoke last questions.

"How could he have won just because he's the definition of danger? And second of all how do you even know that even happened? It's seven-thirty in the morning there's no way you could know that already. And lastly, just because he has a motorcycle does not mean he's hot."

Eyebrows are knitted together. Mouths are open, ready to let whatever flies by in.

"What the hell are you even talking about?"

I let out a groan and roll my eyes for what seems the billionth time realizing that they'll never get it.

"Nothing," I say and walk passed them.

The end of the hallway is swarmed and it doesn't take me long to finally realize why.

Aaron Reeves is standing in the middle of the crowd like a king. He has a smile as big as Jupiter as he walks with them through the hall. He's wearing a black leather jacket and I can't help but feel annoyed. Sure Winter season is coming up ans the weather has gotten chilly. But from passed years I've noticed that even after the snow melts and the sun comes out and winter is over, the so-called bad boy still decided to wear his stupid leather jacket. I am still quite surprised he hasn't died of a heat stroke in the past summers.

"So is it true that you won that race Aaron?" I hear a squeaky voice ask.

"Of course I did," he replies, voice smooth as a baby's butt, filled with so much proudness.

"Were you scared? I heard those guys that you raced against were some dangerous men."

"Of course not baby," he says, "those guys got nothing on me."

It was like a scene from a horrible bad boy novel playing right before me.

Aaron Reeves is anything he wants to be but a bad boy is not what he is. He can play the girls of our school and fool the guys and even himself but he cannot fool me. This whole bad boy charade is so fake it amazes me just how much people actually believe him.

"You glare any harder you might actually be sticking knives right through him," someone whispers behind me. I spin around and find my brother Sage. He gives me an amused look as he puts his arm around his boyfriend Ethan.

"Jesus Sage, you actually scared me."

"Woah chill sis, I'm just saying. Besides I don't know what you've got against him. Aaron Reeves hasn't even spoken to you once and you hate him like he betrayed you or something."

"I don't hate him," I reply as we all turn around and begin walking the opposite way from Aaron Reeves.

"Well it sure seems like it," Ethan tells me.

"It's not that. It's just don't you guys think it's so annoying that he roams around the school like he's some sort of God? And this entire bad boy persona of his is getting kind of old if you ask me."

"But that's the thing Lux, nobody is asking. All these other people don't want to think like you. All they know is that Aaron Reeves is hot and that everything he spews from his mouth, even the most ridiculous things, are true."

"Yeah too bad I can't change their minds."

"I am so in love with Aaron Reeves."

I'm in the bathroom rinsing my hands when a sophomore I recognize from my art class utters those words to her friend next to her.

"Me too," her friend replies, dazed.

I turn off the water and stare at them with an incredulous expression on my face.

"How can you be in love with Aaron Reeves? Do you even know him?"

"Uh yeah I do," states the girl from my art class, Giana. "He's the hottest boy in school."

"And that's all you know about him? How can you be in love with him if you don't actually know him?"

"Love isn't bitter like you," her friend spits out. "Geez in case you haven't noticed almost the entire school is in love with him, it's hard not to be."

"I'm not bitter," I correct, "I just find it ridiculous how you girls can say that you're in love with him but you don't even know him."

"He's a bad boy," Giana responds, "that's all I need to know."

I let out a scoff.

"Bad boys aren't romantic."

"What are you talking about? Of course they are. Have you like not watched Grease?"

"That movie exaggerated things. In real life bad boys are not romantic, nowhere near it, so if you honestly think Aaron Reeves is someone you can let yourself fall in love with, then ask him on a date."

"What? Are you crazy?"

"No?"

"I would never ask Aaron Reeves on a date," Giana says.

"Neither would I," agrees Giana's friend.

"Why not?"

"Because the boy is the one that should ask you out, obviously."

"What century are you living in?" I question. "Girls can ask boys out too."

"Then you do it."

"What?"

"Ask Aaron Reeves out."

"And why would I do that? I'm not the one that likes him."

Giana rolls her eyes. "Everyone likes Aaron Reeves. If you ask him out and show us just how much of a jerk he is, according to you, then we'll believe you when you say that bad boys aren't romantic."

"But that's not the point of what I'm trying to get across here-"

"Who cares? Just do it and then we'll see who's right."

"Look, as much as I want to prove this, there's no way I'd ever go on a date with him."

"You're right, he has to say yes first and that will obviously be a problem," Giana's friend says.

"Excuse me?" I narrow my eyes at her.

"What she means is that Aaron Reeves has a type and you're not it. But that won't be a problem will it?"

"Of course not," I reply forcing a smile as I try my best not to choke her. "But just so you know, girls don't have to have a thigh gap to get a guy."

"Yeah whatever, so do we have a deal?"

"Yes."

The moment I told my brother and Ethan about my discussion with the sophomore girls in the bathroom they couldn't help but laugh. I was standing before them in the hall as other students scurry off to the last class of the day.

"I don't get how you two think this is funny," I state and glare.

"Sorry sis," replies Sage, "It's just how can you possibly think you'll win this little bet you got yourself in."

"What is that supposed to mean?" I ask and cross my arms.

"No matter what Aaron Reeves does, good and mostly bad, those girls will still be hopelessly in love with him."

"Yeah but I'm gonna prove them wrong."

"And how exactly is that gonna happen? You have to go on a date with him and prove he's a jerk. Which I am almost sure everyone already knows, but are too blinded by his appearance to acknowledge it."

I give them a small smile.

"I spent most of middle school with my nose stuck in a book. I know exactly what I have to do to finally prove that bad boys like Aaron Reeves just aren't romantic."

"Good luck with that Lux," replies Sage.

"Don't worry," I say, "I won't need it."

Afterschool everyone likes to go to the park a couple blocks away from school. I was never quite sure what made that park so special but if there's one thing I know for sure is that Aaron Reeves will be there.

I walk to the park with my friend, Nat, whom I filled in with my plan during our last class of the day.

"Are you sure of what you're about to do?" she asks me as we reach closer to the park.

"Well it would sure be nice if you hit me with some motivation right now."

"Oh right," says Nat. "Okay don't worry Lux, you've got this. You're a strong, beautiful, intelligent adolescent that can definitely prove Aaron Reeves is nothing but a dirtbag asshole."

"Thank you, I really needed that."

"No problem. So what exactly is your plan."

"Well Aaron Reeves isn't exactly a date kind of a guy, so I decided why not just prove it here. I mean how hard will it be?"

"Okay just remember, don't let his suave words or perfect complexion distract you."

"Honestly that's the least of my worries, but thanks. Now just to find him. Seriously where the hell is this guy?"

"What guy? Hi Nat."

"Hey Mandy," replies Nat as she forced a smile.

Mandy gives Nat a brief hug before showing me a smile and hugging me as well. We weren't exactly friends with Mandy. More like acquaintances that don't exactly like each other. There was something about Mandy that I never liked; she was incredibly nosy and had a need to know everything about everyone and never kept anything to herself. If gossip had a queen, she'd be it.

"Oh no one," I reply.

"You don't have to lie, we're friends here Lux. Now tell me, did you finally find yourself a boyfriend?"

"Not yet Mandy."

"Poor you."

"Sure," I reply. It was best to agree with her or there'd be no way she'd let my comment that brought her here go.

"So who are you guys waiting for?"

"My brother and his boyfriend," I reply.

"Oh how is their relationship going? Everything good? Nothings wrong? They're happy?"

I give Nat a look in which she replies with the same expression. I smile and nod.

"They're doing good Mandy."

"Oh that's fantastic because I'd be so devastated if-"

I tune Mandy out and let my eyes wonder off to the crowd. My eyes searching for a specific boy and when I spot him, I let out a sigh.

"Okay well I'll be right back."

"So soon?" asks Mandy.

"Yes, but I'm sure Nat would like to chat, isn't that right?"

Nat gives me a look. "Definitely," she says.

"Oh good," remarks Mandy, "Because you will not believe what Shayla Thompson just told me."

I walk away from them, sending two thumbs up toward Nat's way before turning around, heading toward Aaron Reeves' direction. As I get there, I take out my phone and turn on the voice recorder, making sure I hold it the entire time I'm with Aaron.

"Hey Aaron," I greet and muster up a smile as best as I can.

"What's up," he says. If I were any other girl-specifically the ones from the bathroom from earlier today they would totally go bonkers if Aaron Reeves would what's up them. I, on the other hand, don't fail to notice that he did not even look my way once.

He was surrounded by people-of course-boys and girls that I recognized from school. I hold my phone tight, knowing very well that I needed to get him alone to get what I want.

"Can we talk?"

"Isn't that what we're doing babe?"

His eyes don't even leave the legs of the girl to his left, the same spot his eyes were on when I greeted him.

I couldn't help but feel irritated, angry, and annoyed. He was completely rude and I honestly did not want to deal with it but if this is what I had to do to get people to finally understand what I mean when I say he's a jerk then so be it.

"Can you please look at me?"

"Sure thing babe," he says, "just give me a sec."

He was sending flirtatious smiles towards another girl now. She was to his right and they were whispering to each other that it even amazed me that he was even answering when I spoke to him. I stood there waiting, some of the crowd that surrounded him began to finally notice me, as if I had just arrived. When Aaron didn't turn around and look at me, even after he was done whispering sweet nothings to the girl to his right.

I cleared my throat, loud and clear. "Aaron," I say, my voice strained. "The least you could do is quit being such a douche and look at me when I'm talking to you."

Finally, I had gotten his attention. Unfortunately I got the attention of his entire posse too.

Aaron Reeves looks at me. He squints his eyes a little as he gets up from the chair he was sitting on and takes a step toward me.

"I'm sorry you felt that way, but you've got my attention now. What did you say your name was?" he questions whilst raising his eyebrow.

He gets close, a little too close and I have to put my hand on his chest and lightly push him away so I can take a moment to breath.

"Can we talk?" I smiled, the kind of smile that the girl he was whispering sweet nothings to did. I wasn't sure if it would work but somehow he seemed a little more interested.

"Sure," is all he says, "follow me."

He grabs my hand and pulls me to a corner just meters away from the trash bin.

"So, your name?"

"Right, its Lux."

"Lux?"

"Yep."

"Nice."

"Thanks."

"So is this the spot where you take every girl? Right next to the trash."

"How did you know?"

"Well for one its not very sanitized nor original so-"

"That's quite hurtful don't you think?"

He was joking. I could see the smirk on the side of his face so clear, its like he thinks he's got his finger wrapped around me.

"Tell me Lux," he says taking a step closer, "how is it that I've never seen you before? I mean I'd think by now I would have definitely asked you out."

"So do it," I reply.

"What?"

"Ask me out on a date."

Aaron lets out a hearty laugh. A smile so slick, and a face so captivating it could hypnotize.

"Why go on a date when we can hang out now."

He was making this just too easy.

"What do you mean by hang out?" I hold onto my phone to my side and wait as his own words trap him.

"Oh well you know, we can go behind that bin and maybe you could do me a favor and I could do you one."

"Behind the trash bin?"

"I don't see any rooms out here, do you?"

"No," I say then add, "But what if I want more? Like you know, something romantic."

"I don't do romance babe, it's either sex or nothing at all."

"So is that all that girls are to you? Sex items."

"Take it as you want, some people don't mind it."

"Yeah I guess that's because they don't know how much of a jerk you are."

"I'm not a jerk, it's not my fault you girls are too clingy. Now hurry up and tell me if we're going behind the bin because I'm getting bored."

"Don't bother," I respond, "I got everything I need."

I turn around and stride away from him.

"Wait, where the hell are you going?"

"Away from you asshole."

"Man, I knew Aaron Reeves was a joke but this is too much."

After leaving the park I gathered up Nat, Sage and Ethan to show them all that I recorded from earlier.

"How did you manage not to punch him?" asked Ethan.

"I figured if I really wanted him to say what I wanted then I needed to remain calm, but believe me it was harder than what it sounds."

"No kidding, so now what are you gonna do with it?"

"Send it to Giana and her friends."

"Good, they definitely need to hear that."

"Yeah, the moment they do I'm sure they'll hate him."

I open up the Messenger app from my phone and attach the voice recording of tonight's events to Giana.

"Lux wake up."

"Lux."

"Lux wake up now."

I open my eyes, finding Sage standing in front of me. I let out a groan and push his hand away.

"It's Saturday, let me sleep."

"No, Lux you have to see this."

"Later."

"No, now."

"What the hell could me important at this moment?"

"Look," Sage says before handing me his phone. I grab it, annoyed, as I play a video with a picture of Aaron Reeves. My eyes widen as I realize what I'm listening to. Giana uploaded the recording on Instagram. The recording where it sounds like Aaron Reeves is a complete jerk. The recording that I never expected anyone but Giana and her friends to heard. And then I read her caption:

BAD BOYS AREN'T ROMANTIC!!!!
