Axel held up my stolen phone and waved it in front of me. "You stole my phone," I accused, attempting to snatch it from him, but as I was about to grab it, he pulled it out of my reach.

"I didn't steal it," he declared, placing his hand on his chest in mock hurt.

I narrowed my eyes at him. "Really, why do you have it then?" I asked, awaiting a no doubt, idiotic answer.

He grinned and rather than answering me, pinched my ass. "You have a nice butt," he chuckled, causing me to blush and smack his arm, while Heather smacked the back of his head again.

Wesley just glared at Axel as if he was the cause of all of the world's problems. "Just give me my phone back." I glared at him.

He pretended to think about an answer, tapping his chin with his jade eyes to the ceiling. "Only if you come to my party," he grinned lazily.

"Fine," I relented through gritted teeth, causing his grin to widen.

I heard Heather mumble an 'I told ya so' causing me to narrow my eyes at her.

"Okay I'll pick you up at ten," he said grinning triumphantly.

Without a word of explanation, Wes quickly got up and dumped his tray without another word as Axel laughed harder.

"What's wrong with him?" I asked no one in particular, as I watched Wesley storm angrily out of the cafeteria.

"He just wants what he can't have," Axel stated, without any further elaboration.

"And that might be?" Heather chimed in, finally done gawking at Axel. He shrugged as if he didn't know.

"Okay baby girl," he started causing me to cringe. "I have to go. I'll see you at ten," he pecked my cheek before standing up and leaving.

Heather stared at me, eyes wide, waiting for me to say something. "I thought you weren't the partying type," she teased.

"I'm not. I just want my phone back," I answered flatly.

"Then ask your dad or your mom to buy you a new one," I cringed at the word dad. Noel Thompson was just a name on my birth certificate, he didn't care about my well being enough to be called my father let alone my dad.

"Then he'll ask what happened and I don't really want to have to explain," I lied, stuttering slightly.

But Heather didn't notice.

No one ever did.

. . .

As I walked out of school with Heather she grabbed my arm and shook me violently. I looked at her in annoyed confusion before she pointed a coffin shaped nail in Axel's direction.

He was surrounded by people, including Savannah.

I personally loathed attention, but since he screwed up my car, the center of it was my ride home. Meaning I would have to walk through that crowd to get to him.

Heather knew I hated attention so of course, she dragged me towards it, knowing I would try to leave with her instead.

When we finally reached Axel the crowd had dissipated, all except for Savannah and the twins. When I was close enough for him to reach, Axel turned me around and pulled me into his arms, my back to his front, with his arms around my waist.

He's just doing this to make Savannah mad, I told myself. "Hola nena, ready to go?" I turned to look up at him as Savannah stomped away, clearly upset by Axel's little act.

"Don't you have detention?" I asked, now remembering Spanish class.

He smirked in response before shrugging calmly, "I'm skipping." It was only then that I noticed Heather squirming uncomfortably and Zach grinning mischievously at her.

"Um... I have to go now," she mumbled before running towards her car.

I laughed softly at her; Zach had been keeping all of the other boys away from Heather because he liked her.

I didn't know why she was uncomfortable, Zach unlike his brothers was a natural sweetheart.

So, for him to threaten every guy that tried to talk to her, was very sweet.

Zach stared at her retreating form longingly, while Jack glared at me and Axel before they walked away leaving the two of us alone.

Not knowing what else to say, Axel, got on the motorcycle. He handed me my helmet and placed me on the motorcycle behind him before speeding towards my house.

I sighed in content once Axel parked his motorcycle I felt safe knowing that he wasn't there and maybe also because Axel... was.
