Freddi

For the rest of the day, I sat in my room. I ignored any and all attempts at conversation from Axel.

Quietly dreading the school day tomorrow, I called Wesley, hoping for some sense of normalcy.

After three rings, he picked up. "H-hey Freddi," his voice was tentative, almost hesitant. Almost as though he was scared.

"Hey, Wes, what's up?" I chimed with as much enthusiasm as I could manage. Wesley was never usually this way.

"Um, nothing, my mom needs me I'll call you later okay," he spat out in a haste.

"But–" was all I managed to get out before he hung up on me. This was beyond strange. Wesley had only been semi-normal school, but this phone call made it obvious that he was just avoiding me.

. . .

As expected, everyone stopped and stared at us, the moment we stepped out of Axel's car. Most were confused as to why the hell he was with me, while others didn't give a damn.

There, however, were a few who were simply shocked by the fact that Axel owned a car.

Even a couple of teachers stopped and stared, and it didn't really help that he followed me to my locker after every class.

Zach and Heather, seemingly waiting for us as they stood, holding hands while he nuzzled her neck as she giggled.

I turned and stuck my tongue out at Axel. "Hey guys," I greeted the happy couple as I opened my locker to get my books for my next class.

"Hi," Heather replied through a fit of giggles.

I gaped at her, my Heather didn't giggle. "Erm... can I talk to Heather, privately for a second?" I asked the guys, looking up at Axel imploring him to listen, considering he would have probably argued to stay by my side.

"Sure," Axel said reluctantly, dragging Zach away with him.

Heather looked down at me grinning, like everyone she stood much taller than me at five foot eight inches tall.

"So, how long before he gets you knocked up?" Heather asked causing me to punch her in the arm, with as much force as I could muster.

"Shouldn't I ask you that?" I asked teasingly with a forced smile.

"Whatever, you're living with him so how long before you say yes when he asks you out?" Heather looked at me with an arched brow as she leaned against my locker.

"When he what?" I cupped a hand over my ear, pretending I didn't hear her.

"Oh sorry, I meant when he asks to fuck your brains out," she corrected herself.

Just as she uttered those words, the Queen Bitch and her minions decided to show up. Savannah, Tammi, and Brittney stopped directly next to my locker as if they'd been listening to our entire conversation.

"He only 'likes' you, because he has to chase you. You stupid. Little. Virgin," Savannah sneered, glaring down at me. I glared back up at her, but her height compared to mine made me seem like a tiny bug, squished beneath her heels.

What kind of idiot would wear heels to school anyway? What kind of school even allows it?

"Just because he didn't want you, doesn't mean you can torment me," I warned, my voice was soft as per usual but firm this time.

I no longer had anything to fear, I had just escaped from one of my bad guys and I couldn't– wouldn't let the other have control anymore either.

I dimly noticed that Heather had taken her phone out and was sending a text to someone. Probably Zach or Axel, but I couldn't be bothered to look away from the Savannah at the moment.

"If you don't like it then you'll leave him alone," was her snide reply, as she cocked an eyebrow as if she had won already.

As you probably noticed, I was not exactly an angry person, and I didn't usually raise my voice at all, but Savannah's words just pissed me off.

"Savannah, will you just give it up. Axel doesn't want to be with a walking STD," my words caused Heather to turn to me with her mouth wide open in silent shock.

Savannah crossed her arms and glared at me, as her minions were both looking at me with what seemed to be silent pride. "You little bitch. He doesn't want you, neither did Jack. All guys like him are the same."

"Who told you to try them all?" My response was snarky and obviously must have caught her off guard. Savannah had the audacity to look taken aback before irritation shone on her make-up covered face.

"Just stay away from him or else," she was already riled up, but I just had to see if what I said next would piss her off.

"Damn!" I said with as much sarcasm as possible causing her eyes to narrow at me, "You're ass must be getting pretty jealous of all the shit coming out of your mouth." Heather seemed to be practically dying of laughter next to me.

"Ugh!!!" Savannah exclaimed before making an attempt at stomping away, which was slightly difficult in the death traps she called heels.

Heather turned to me and squealed as soon as they get around the corner. "Damn, you are tiny but you are tough! What has gotten into you?" She wiggled her eyebrows, alerting me to the hidden meaning hidden in her words.

"You are gross," I scrunched my nose up in distaste.

"You will find out soon enough," she cooed, causing me to cock my eyebrow at her as we began walking to Spanish class. She raised her hands defending herself. "Hey! I'm just saying, girls who go out with Slade don't usually wear pure white on their wedding day. And while I may not like it, what I just saw proves he's good for you."

"Well thanks, mom, but what happened to Ms. I Don't Want You Near Him?" I nudged her shoulder teasingly.

Heather was going to respond, but our conversation was cut short by me walking into someone with a vaguely familiar scent of cinnamon, and pine trees.

I was stopped from falling to the ground by two familiar hands wrapping themselves around my waist.

"Are you okay, Heather texted me about Savannah and–"

I cut him off with my own statement. "I'm fine," I said placatingly, still not releasing myself from his hold, I noticed Heather sneaking away throwing me a wink and a thumbs up. "I can handle myself," I continued.

"Are you sure?" Axel asked, searching my face for any sign of apprehension.

"Yes, now let's go we're gonna be late," I chuckled, causing him to groan as we walked the short distance to class.

. . .

Axel

. . .

"Man-child if you don't stop poking me in the cheek, I will personally castrate you," Freddi reprimanded me as the four of us sat at a table in the back of the cafeteria.

"So what I'm hearing is, you want to touch my balls?"

I poked her cheek again, with a smirk on my face. Zach and Heather were looking at us from across the table like we were, those puppies that could fit in teacups.

She swatted my hand away annoyed, but I could see the hint of amusement in her face.

"What will it take to get you to stop?" she whined adorably and I wiggled my eyebrows mischievously, remembering all of the raging boners she had unwittingly given me.

Her face turned an almost startling shade of crimson as she narrowed her eyes at me, "Not that."

I laughed at her attempt to seem threatening. "Well now that that's off the table..." I drawled as I poked her cheek again.

I had been subtle about it, but all day I had tried to keep her happy and distract her whenever she may have seen Jack, and since we were in the cafeteria, I had sort of doubled my efforts because she had a higher chance of seeing him.

Her friend the ginger walked in the cafeteria and Freddi looked in his direction hopefully and based on her expression he hadn't told her yet.

I glared at him and he immediately stiffened before turning around and leaving. I will make good on my threat, and he would do well to realize that.

"So, in exchange for me to stop," I began, before poking her again, "I would like a date."

Heather held out her hand to Zach, who reluctantly handed her a five dollar bill. I guess we weren't the only ones making bets.

"I feel like the movies should count for this," Freddi replied, clearly frustrated.

Zach then held out his hand to Heather, who reluctantly handed him back his five dollars.

Dammit, I liked her I would admit that, but she was really hurting my pride a little by rejecting me.

"How about a kiss then?" I puckered my lips teasingly leaning over her, expecting her to smack me or do something other than what I requested.

Heather held out her hand to Zach, who reluctantly handed her the five dollar bill again. I expected that.

What I didn't expect was to feel first Freddi's smooth hands on my cheeks and then, her soft lips on mine.

It was a gentle kiss and it took a while for me to respond, from the initial shock. Once, I did we continued kissing for seconds, maybe minutes.

Hell, I didn't know. But it felt so fucking good until she pulled away.

The both of us turned to find Zach, shaking his head while handing a very happy Heather, a 50 dollar bill.

"You guys seriously bet on us?" Freddi asked, her cheeks turning a light shade of pink.

I had to stop myself from groaning. I wondered what the rest of her skin looked like in that color.

I leaned down and whispered in her ear, "It's not like we didn't do it to them." Freddi giggled before merely shrugging and starting to chat animatedly with Heather.
