Sierra

We park our cars in the parking lot and I hop out meeting Cameron and Parker who just locked their cars. The guys were behind us and I could hear them singing One Direction songs as we got closer to Melly's.

Melly's isn't technically a restaurant nor a diner, but more of a place where you can sit down, do homework, study, do meetings, order food and wait till they bring it to you, etc. It's a family type of place and it's a blast to be in.

Especially because 5SOS and 1D plays here ALL the time. The girls and I used to scream our hearts out whenever it was 10 at night and we were grabbing a late night snack here.

Still doing it till this day.

"That's what makes you beautiful!" Blake finished with a voice crack. The girls and I laugh and open the door.

I could hear Ty behind us teasing him about it. "That voice crack man," Blake whacks him on the arm and pouts.

"We don't talk about it."

I spot Melly right away and I called her over as the six of us slide in a booth. I was on the outside in front of Kaydon while Cameron was in thr middle with Blake and Ty and Parker on the very inside of the booths.

Melly came over with a wide grin and a tray of glasses. As she looks at us, her eyes wide and she almost dropped the glasses right onto the floor. She squealed like a teenage girl and tried to hug the guys as much as she could. "Holy cow! You boys came back," she placed the normal orders of water and lemonade down for me and the girls.

"The usual drinks?" she asks the boys and they nod with a happy grin. Melly will always remember your order if you're an OG guest. Well, we're more like her family. She had some pretty rough times with her relationship and family for the past years and the girls and I try to visit her as much as we can. "Thanks, Mel." Ty replied, while playing with the salt packet on the table.

Melly places down napkins and straws with a full grin on her face. "Don't thank me," she grabs everything and starts to walk away. "Thank you for coming back,"

The boys' faces were priceless as they smile and look down at the table with a little kid grin. "She's happy to see you guys," Parker said, breaking the silence at our booth. It wasn't packed like it always is, it was just us and a few families around chatting.

Blake snorts and started crumpling up a straw wrapper. "I bet she's blinded by our beauty," he spat the wrapper at Parker on the face right under her right eye on her cheek.

"Whoops," his face floods with panic as Parker still stared straight at him with an annoyed face on. She wipes it off and glared at him but then eats the bread on the table.

"Do you guys remember when Ty peed his pants here?" Cameron started laughing which causes  Ty to hide his flushed face. We all started laughing quietly but suddenly it grew as she keeps saying the story.

**
"Melly!" Ty shouted and she appeared from behind the counter. She looks at Ty and nods, motioning him to ask his question.

He kept jumping up and down, looking for something. Is he okay, does he have a spider in his leg?

"Is there a bathroom?" Kaydon and Blake laugh so loud from our table that I see Cameron and Parker throw them fries but missed. Melly nodded but she nodded towards the long line.

She frowns slightly and looks at Ty with a sorry look. "You gotta wait Ty," she went back in the kitchen and Ty quickly ran to our table.

"You tinkle yet?" Blake asks

"Look at the line, Davis!" he shouted while jumping up and down.

"Just tinkle on them!" Blake shouts.

Kaydon and the girls whip their heads around and glared at Blake. Ty narrows his eyes and sat down while still shifting uncomfortably. "Yeah, like I'll pee my pants." All of us laughed and continued to look at the menus in front of us.

I keep hearing the couch of the booth rustling and I look across from me to see a panicking Ty with eyes still at the direction of the bathrooms. "Just run into the bathrooms!" I chuckle and he shakes his head. "You're gonna pee your pants."

Blake sighs and turned to him patting Ty on the shoulder. "Look, I get that we're young, but we look old enough," he shakes his shoulders and Ty shoots him a glare. "Now go be a big boy and go to the hecking bathroom!"

Ty exhales and nods with his chin held high. Blake cheers and scoots out of the booth for him to come out and Ty was about to step down when Parker came back with a caterpillar on her hand.

"Look what I found!" in response was a loud scream and Ty froze.

I hear a drip on the floor and I look down to see a puddle of, you know it, pee.

"Ty!" Cameron and I shout.

He looks sheepishly at Melly and our table.

"Whoops."

**

I smile as I remember Ty scrambling away covering the wet spot on his pants. Everyone was laughing and Melly came back with our drinks. She set them down and got a notepad out to write our orders.

"The usual?" she asks with a smirk. We all nod and she walks away.

Cameron sips on his coke and looks around. The old teal color walls were replaced with grey, the white tiles on the floor are now dark brown planks, and the booths are now dark maroon. "This place changed since then," he sighs.

I nod, "Sure has," the TV in the background is playing a college volleyball game. USC vs UCLA.

"How has volleyball been?" Kaydon asks and I turn back around to see him staring at the TV behind us. Parker answers before me and starts going through our positions.

"Pretty busy honestly," she stared out the window with a family coming in. "Sierra's our libero, Cameron is our best setter, and I'm the stubborn captain. We had our rough days but I'm glad we beat Elwood."

Right as she said that, the boys wince. "Sorry," she quickly apologizes and looks at me. I ignore everything as I kept staring outside. I wonder if they're thinking of questions to ask.

It's been ten years, Sierra of course they will!

"You guys came a long way from club volleyball," Blake fills in the silence and the girls and I nod with a smile. I lean on Cameron's shoulder as I remember the easy times in club.

We were three very loud girls back then. Everyone on our team wanted us to shut up sometimes but we couldn't do that. On our 12s team, we finally got our positions on the same lineup. Me; libero number 24, Cameron; setter number 12, and Parker; right side number 5. These numbers were our dream jersey numbers since we knew about volleyball. Basically at age five, we started playing. I was only interested in defense as I sucked at hitting but Parker was crazy about smacking the damn ball in someone's face. Cameron just wanted to be the 'control tower' if you know what I mean.

"We have," I say still out of thought. "From club to varsity."

The girls smile at me and I do too. I remember the joy on our faces when we realized we got on the varsity team as freshmen. Goddamn, the joy Parker had when she realized she got captain during the summer before our Senior year, holy shit. She screamed, cried, and strangled us in hugs.

The feeling of wearing a different colored jersey, getting most of the first balls, and being the leader in the back just satisfies me. A dream position I always thought of playing as came true.

I remember the tears coming out of Cameron's eyes when we told her she was in the same lineup as our setter.

Kaydon glances at me then looks away. "Are you guys gonna play college?" We didn't answer. Am I gonna continue in college? It's only a matter of time right? I gotta find one soon. The teams I dreamed of playing on was USC or UCLA. Two rivals, I know. Here's the thing, it's so far away. Do I wanna risk everything to go play?

"Who knows," I look up at him to meet his gaze and he does. "That thought can wait."

But it really can't.
