Sierra

A couple days passed by and it was Saturday. The girls and I had some small talk with the guys recently and at lunch. After the situation with Kaydon that night, we were pretty much normal. I did tell the girls and they were a bit iffy on the situation but supported me nonetheless.

Blake and Ty also apologized about forty times once they found out Kaydon told me. Cameron and Parker laughed their asses off when the guys literally went on their knees to apologize.

Well back to today, Parker and Ty insisted on us to do something fun today.

"Come on guys, we shouldn't be this awkward!" Blake groans, throwing all of us a bottle of water. "It'll be like old times."

Parker shrugs, "Alright, what do you wanna do?"

Ty jumps up. "Paintball!"

I shake my head. "No way, remember when we were six? You knocked me over so hard my eye was swollen for days!" What happened was I was running away from him because his paintball gun got jammed. I was running so fast until he jumped and rammed me into a tree.

My eye got swollen and bruised for a week. I remember Kaydon almost jumping Ty for doing it but my dad broke them apart.

Fuck, maybe not think about dad. I shake those thoughts away and put on a cheesy grin.

"Oh yeah," he looks at me sheepishly.

Cameron's eyes light up. "Oh I know! Bowling." We all talk in agreement. Bowling has got to be one of our favorite activities. Usually the girls win because of our amazing accuracy. At one point, Parker wanted to serve the bowling ball, yeah not a good idea.

The guys would always be mad at us and accuse us for cheating but they knew for s fact we just have great skill.

I turn to Parker and she nods getting her purse. "Sounds good."

**

"Strike!" Parker shouts at Blake and he pouts. We won for the fifth time. The guys groan and sat down sipping on their drinks. The screen up above show the 'STRIKE' pop up and Cameron and I cheered.

"Okay okay," Blake grumbles, throwing a napkin in the trash can a few feet away. Parker raised and eyebrow teasingly and stepped closer putting a hand to her ear.

"What was that?"

Blake rolls his eyes and puts on an even more grumpy face. Cameron and I chuckle as Blake and Parker have a stare off. "Fine, you win!" he caves in and Parker cheers. Blake would always hate admitting that Parker won something. Him and Parker have this banter and competitive friendship for years. It's the same if Blake wins something.

Ty and Kaydon smirk and pat Blake on the back. We all gathered up our things and returned our shoes to the front. The chilly breeze gave me goosebumps on the arms. It was almost three in the afternoon. "Where to?" I huff, holding onto myself tightly. This hoodie is doing me no justice.

Cameron shrugs, "Do you guys wanna head to Melly's?"

The guys hoot and we chuckle. Melly's it is.

Oh, and did I mention we sang Christmas songs on the way?

**

You know that feeling when you're super scrunched up in a crowded line and you're basically touching everyone's arms and you feel all gross?

Yeah, that's kinda what's happening right now. I'm breaking out in a sweat as we stand in a super long line at Melly's. We were just about to ask for a to-go order.

The hoodie is sticking on to me as sweat drips down my back. Next to me was Parker getting angry at every person that keeps shoving her. Cameron, Ty, and Blake waited outside since they did not want to wait this long.

The even best part was that Kaydon was right behind me.

We were so close that I could feel his breath on my neck. The smell of his cologne with a hint of mint and pine.

"Oh my god, I'm gonna look like a wet dog!" Parker groans. Her hair was sticking to the sides of her face and out of place from her braid. A person was holding on to their food but didn't see Parker and shoved her real hard into my side. I started falling and I let out a yelp before someone caught me.

"Woah, you alright?" I turn my head and look to see a blondish haired boy with light blue eyes. I stand up and awkwardly nodded. Woah, baby. Best looking guy I've ever seen at Melly's.

Code red! Get your ass away.

"Yeah, I'm alright," I shrug.

He gives me a grin, "The name's Zach." I feel like I've heard of him before.

Okay, you're stupid.

Can you shut up?

I smile back and brush the hair out of my face. I probably look like a drenched rat. "Sierra."

Parker nudges me to get ready to move up and I turn away from Zach. I quickly glance and see him with a disappointed look but he walks away back to his table. Finally I see Kaydon with fire in his eyes still glaring at Zach.

What's that all about?

Well, maybe it was just because-

"You okay?" I say to him. He looks at me and nods with a cold look. Parker looks at me weirdly too but it was our turn up at the table.

Parker leaned against it, "Hey, Melly! Can we just order our food to-go?" Melly was scrambling behind the counter grabbing plates, paper, napkins, straws, you name it. She looked worn out and sighed putting everything on the table.

"I'm so sorry guys, it's been jammed pack 'cus of a party. Let me get someone's pick-up and I'll be back," she lets out a weary smile and started barking orders at the back kitchen. I let out a sigh and waved my hands to at least cool off my face.

Kaydon stops me and started using a napkin. "Better?" he asks, his eyes were still glinting with a look of sadness. I didn't say anything and nodded.

We're being awkward, again. I just don't get it.

Parker eyes us weirdly and leans down closer to my ear. "I'll be heading to the bathroom, get the food for me?" she whispers, I nodded and she walks away.

Melly comes back with a notepad and I told her our usual order. She jots them down quickly and told us to wait a couple minutes.

God, I can't stand being in here anymore.

Behind me Kaydon visibly moves forward uncomfortably. I look behind him to see a girl brushing her arm on his. A too sweet of a smile on her face and a look of disgust on his. She had light blonde hair and faded green eyes. He gave me a pleading look to shove her away. I smiled sweetly and slightly yanked him next to me.

The girl scoffs, "Uhm, hello?" I look at her and used the nicest voice I could use.

"Hi! I'd appreciate if you don't touch my boyfriend like that," her eyes quickly widened and she muttered a 'sorry' before getting out of the line. I look out from the corner of my eye and see his little smirk. I turn back around and ignore the slight red on my cheeks.

Boyfriend, huh?

"Thank you," he let out a deep breath and I could hear him stick his hands in his pockets. I was turning to face him hut I see him visibly stiffen when Zach came over again with a bag in his hands.

That's weird.

No duh! I've been trying-

"Hey Sierra!" he gives me a goofy smirk and gave me his phone. "Do you mind giving me your number?"

Should I?

No.

Is this a bad idea?

YES.

"Sure," I typed in my number and waved. "See you around Zach." Zach had a small smile and his shaggy blonde hair was bouncing up and down from his movements. He had no look of sweat on him in this crowded room with his flannel over his hoodie.

He pats me on the shoulder and walks away. Kaydon mutters something I couldn't make out but just as I was about to ask, Melly came over with our order. Parker was skipping happily to us and looked back-and-forth between me and Kaydon.

"Shall we go?" she asks cautiously. I nodded. Kaydon started walking out before us and Parker gives me a look.

"What?"

She raises an eyebrow, "Something's up,"

She is right. I'll make sure to ask him about it. Now look at me go with a new guy contact!

Things surely can't get any worse.
