Minato and Kushina were sitting across from Naruto and Hiruzen. They had spent all day discussing what was going to happen tomorrow. They all knew that an attack would happen right after Kushina's baby was born, but they still needed to be prepared for anything.

Naruto was listening quietly for once as Hiruzen spoke to Kushina. He was going to be out in the village waiting for the attack, while his wife Biwako would be with her helping to give birth to the child and Minato would be making sure the nine-tailed fox within Kushina didn't break free from his seal. Naruto would be patrolling just outside making sure no one got near.

As the meeting got closer to ending, Naruto finally excused himself, leaving his parents and Hiruzen behind. The autumn air left a chill in the air and he walked slowly through the village streets. The village was smaller from when he was growing up, but there was still happiness all around, and seeing the Uchiha clan members smiling and going about their day to day activities still made him smile, even after so many years of being in this time.

Neither Naruto nor Kurama spoke as they trekked through the village, walking through every street, reliving memories in every nook and cranny and even imagining the buildings that get built throughout the years. It wasn't until he found himself on the training grounds standing in front of three wood posts sticking out of the ground that he finally spoke up. "I guess this is where everything started, huh."

Everything was silent except for the breeze that was softly ruffling the trees. Naruto had sat down, leaning against the middle post thinking back to his past. It wasn't happy but not sad either, rather it was a peaceful feeling. He didn't feel the unbearable pain anymore while thinking about those he lost, because they were all being welcomed back as babies again.

"Kit..." Kurama let Naruto spend the time in silence until hours had passed after the sun went down. "You need to get some rest, Kit. Tomorrow is going to be a long day."

Naruto was silent as he pondered over what Kurama said before he finally stood up. "Yeah, I guess you're right." Walking back through the village at a quicker pace then before he found himself at his apartment and stepping inside to the dark quiet room. "I always hated coming home to an empty room."

"That'll change after tomorrow night. You won't have to any more." Kurama tried to lighten the mood a little by saying something positive, but knowing he was only repeating what he had said many times before to also try and make himself feel better.

"I know, Kura...but...I also know that I personally won't be able to experience that." Nothing else was said between the two friends as they both drifted off to sleep with a feeling of suspense and tension hanging in the air.

The next day came far too quickly for Kushina, Minato and Naruto. They were all nervous in their own ways, none of them knowing quite what to expect from the events that would happen that night.

It seemed like any other day as they all started to make their way to the safe house that had been decided. Everyone was going about their day as usual. As they were walking down the street, they just happened to run into Mikoto. Kushina stopped, smiling as she saw that Mikoto was holding a small bundled up Sasuke in her arms.

"He's so cute! He's getting so big, ya know!" Kushina's smile was bright as she poked Sasuke's small cheek.

"He really is. I can't believe it's been almost three months already."

"Hey, by the way..." Kushina leaned in, whispering to Mikoto. "Does it really hurt that bad?"

Mikoto gave a sympathetic smile to Kushina, knowing the nervousness herself. "Don't worry Kushina, you've got this no problem."

"Thank you!" Kushina smiled brightly as she looked at her friend. "Well I gotta go now, ya know!" An energetic wave was the last thing Mikoto saw as she watched Kushina get dragged away by Biwako, Minato and Naruto hot on their tail.

It was already dark by the time everything was ready. Naruto took his place outside, leaving Minato, Kushina, and Biwako together inside.

"Minato..." Kushina's anxious voice rang out through the empty room.

Squeezing her hand, Minato gave Kushina a peck on the cheek, "Don't worry, everything is going to be okay."

It was getting late into the night when Naruto finally heard the faint sound of crying coming from inside. A small grin appeared on his face as he thought about his family. He wasn't going to let anyone take it from him again, no matter the cost. Naruto was lost in his thoughts when he suddenly heard footsteps coming from behind him. When he turned to see who it was he was completely stunned.

"What? What is this?" Naruto was standing wide-eyed as he looked at the all too familiar figure standing in front of him. "How did they pull this off?"

"Naruto, you know it's not him. This must be that white Zetsu trap like before." Kurama could tell that Naruto was starting to freak out and was trying to think of a solution to calm him down.

"I know that Kura, it's just that..." Naruto took a deep breath, trying to slow his racing heart beat. "I can sense his same chakra. Everything about him is the exact same. It's hard to separate the truth from what I'm feeling."

"Naruto." The dark, familiar voice spoke up from the shadows, calling Naruto out of his spiraling thoughts. "You know one of us will have to die here, and it won't be me. I will stop you."

"S-Sasuke..." Naruto barely had time to move out of the way as Sasuke sent a fireball straight towards him, the impact creating a large tremor throughout the area. Naruto only had one thought in his mind as he rushed forward to fight, and that was how much he wanted to kill Danzo for what he had just done.

Naruto formed a rasengan in his right hand as he ran towards Sasuke while Sasuke ran at him with a chidori in his left. It was an all too familiar sight to Naruto, but he knew that he couldn't stop. When the two jutsu collided, the explosion that ensued pushed both Naruto and Sasuke far from where they had been moments before, secluding them to their own fight.

"Naruto!"

"Sasuke!"

Naruto and Sasuke once again ran at each other, their movements almost too quick to follow. They continued to trade punches and kicks, throwing jutsus at each other whenever they got the chance to weave the signs that they needed. Neither one of them was willing to back down from the fight.

Minato, Kushina and Biwako all looked at each other in worry as they felt the small room shaking. They could tell that Naruto must be fighting someone. It was once the shaking quieted down that they got really troubled about what was going on.

Minato rushed to Kushina's side in order to reseal the nine-tails inside of Kushina, but was stopped when he heard Biwako yell from behind him.

"We need to get ou–" Biwako was cut off mid-sentence as she was suddenly knocked unconscious by someone behind her.

"Biwako!" Minato turned as he heard her yell, surprise on his face that someone had gotten in without them noticing. "Who are you?! What happened to Naruto?!"

The lone figure was standing in the shadows of the room, his face obscured by the darkness. "Naruto is a little busy right now, and something tells me he is going to have a tough time dealing with the situation."

"Fugaku?" Minato was shocked at what he was seeing. "Why are you doing this?"

"That's none of your concern, Lord Fourth." Fugaku's voice was full of venom. "Just know that this is something I have to do."

"Then I'm sorry for what I have to do." Without saying anything else, Minato threw a kunai at Fugaku, but just as it was making contact, he disappeared in a puff of smoke. A shadow clone?! Minato turned around just in time to see Fugaku now standing behind him, just about to hit him with his own kunai. He used his flying raijin to move to the other side of the room just in time.

Just as Minato reappeared in the corner of the room there was already a shuriken right in front of him, hitting him in the shoulder. Minato grunted in pain as he held his shoulder. When he turned and looked up what he saw made his blood run cold. Fugaku was now holding the baby Naruto in his arms, a kunai held to his neck.

"Fugaku! Please! You have children of your own. Why are you doing this?!"

"I'm doing this because of my family." Fugaku didn't waste anymore time before he tossed Naruto up into the air. Minato used his jutsu to catch Naruto in the air, using his chakra to stick to the ceiling, but just as he landed, Fugaku spoke up once more. "You caught him that time, but what about the next?"

Minato looked down to see paper bombs attached to the blanket that Naruto was wrapped up in. He briefly heard Kushina yell as he quickly took off the blanket and transported Naruto and himself out of the room.

Feeling the blast hit him from behind, Minato glanced back at the now destroyed building, but he didn't see Kushina and Fugaku; they were both just gone. Naruto was crying in his arms, and he knew that he couldn't stay there. He quickly moved to another safe house, laying Naruto down softly in the bed. He whispered into Naruto's ears, kissing him on the forehead. "I'm going to go get your mom. I'll be right back."

Kushina woke up to find herself tied up on a singular rock, Fugaku standing a little ways off from her. "Please Fugaku. Don't do this." Tears were streaming down her cheeks as she spoke.

"I am truly sorry Kushina, but I have to." Fugaku looked away briefly before yelling out: "Come, Nine-tails!" He looked away again as he heard Kushina scream. Once it was quiet again, he finally looked up, seeing the nine-tails standing high above him. "You're mine now."

Kushina was looking desperately at Fugaku, but was taken by surprise as she looked up to see the nine-tails just about to crush her. "What?!" Just before his hand made contact, she closed her eyes, waiting for the pain, but when nothing came, she opened her eyes to see herself safely in Minato's arms, away from the nine-tails. "Minato, Fugaku doesn't want to do this, but you've got to stop the nine-tails."

"I will. Let's get you to Naruto first." With one last parting glare towards Fugaku and the nine-tails, he disappeared.

* * * * * *

"Come on Sasuke! I'm not your enemy!" Naruto was still fighting Sasuke. He was surprised at how strong the clone was. "How were they even able to copy Sasuke's chakra like this?! It's perfect!"

"Naruto, I don't want to say it, but there is one way..." Kurama's voice was glum as he spoke to Naruto. "They could have copied it from the baby Sasuke from this time."

Naruto felt his heart drop, picturing the little baby Sasuke at the mercy of Danzo. "Dammit! He pisses me off, that bastard!"

"Inferno style: Susanoo flame control!" Sasuke shot an arrow of his amaterasu flames towards Naruto.

"Tailed beast rasenshuriken!" Naruto threw his rasenshuriken towards the flaming arrow, a huge explosion resulting from the impact.

Danzo was standing at the edge of the Leaf Village when he saw the light from an explosion in the distance. "It looks like our plan is going well. Naruto is still preoccupied with our little trap. How did things go on your end?" Danzo turned just in time to see Fugaku walk up beside him.

"Everything went as planned, Lord Danzo. We can proceed with the plan as we had discussed."

"Very well then. Get to it."

Fugaku stepped to the front before biting his finger to draw blood and weaving the signs he needed before pressing his hand against the ground and yelling out: "Summoning jutsu!" As he finished speaking, a large plume of smoke appeared, and once they could see again, the nine-tailed fox was standing above them, ready to attack. "Go nine-tails! Attack the village!"

The nine-tails didn't take any time before leaping forward, knocking down buildings with just one swipe of his hand.

"We will take this village by the end of tonight, no matter what. Now, all of you, proceed to the village." Danzo directed the rest of his own ANBU forces to enter the village. All of them headed in a different direction, ready to cut down anyone they came across.

As Danzo watched all of his forces enter the village he slowly turned away, walking in the opposite direction. "I've got some other business to see to. Fugaku, you see that nothing happens on this end of things." He didn't wait for Fugaku's answer before running off into the forest towards a seemingly unknown destination.

When the foundation members entered the village, they were surprised to see shinobi already there in formation waiting for them. They quickly began to make their attack against the village, but no matter how much they thought they were surprising their enemy, they were constantly being pushed back by other Leaf shinobi that were always waiting for them.

Because of the planning that Minato and Naruto had done long before the attack, the Leaf shinobi were able to follow the pattern of stopping the surprise attacks by the foundation, quickly taking care of the forces that had invaded the village while the Akimichi and Nara clans used their expansion and paralysis jutsus to hold back the nine-tails as best as they could.

Far from the village, Minato and Kushina appeared in a small room, a small sleeping baby laying on a single bed that was against the wall. Minato carefully laid Kushina next to Naruto, letting her curl herself up next to him.

"I'll be back Kushina. I've got to go stop the nine-tails from attacking the village." Minato put his forehead against Kushina's as he spoke gently. "You and Naruto will be safe here for now."

"Minato." Kushina slowly held her hand out to hold onto Minato before he could leave. "Please, be careful out there."

"I will. I promise." Minato pulled on his Hokage cloak before walking out the door. Just as he stepped outside, ready to head to the village, he stopped as he noticed a single silhouette emerging from the trees in front of him. As he got closer he was surprised to see Danzo standing in front of him. "Danzo. I'm surprised to see you here."

"Lord Fourth Hokage, you seem to have prepared quite well for tonight thanks to that meddlesome brat Naruto. But no matter what you have done, I will still win."

"We won't let you. All of the shinobi of the Leaf Village will work together to stop you. You can't stop the will of fire that burns in all of us."

"We'll just see about that." Without any more words spoken Danzo and Minato leapt at each other, ready to end the conflict once and for all.
