Mizuki pov.
For the next day, Keishin and I get ready and leave for school an hour earlier than we would usually wake up during weekends.

Today's our match against Ouginishi High! I wonder if they're good...

We get there a little earlier than most of the teams, so I quickly change and help set up.

I take one of the poles, and Daichi takes the other.

"Mizuki, do you need help with that?" Daichi asks me.

"I got this, don't worry!" I respond.

We put the poles in place, and we help Narita and Asahi with the net.

Once we totally finished everything, only Ennoshita and Suga came in.

"What's taking everyone so long?" I ask.

The team shrugs.

"No idea." Narita says.

"They couldn't have forgotten, right?" Asahi asks.

"They definitely didn't." Suga responds.

I lay down on the ground. "Well, at least it's a bit more peaceful now without the othe-"

"Hello everyone!" Tanaka yells and slams the door open.

"Sorry we're a little late!" Noya jumps in.

I cover my face and sigh. "There they are."

The people that were already in the gym with me laughed, and Tanaka and Noya look at us confused.

I sit up. "Do you know where the other first years are?" I ask the two boys.

"Ya, I think I saw Hinata and Kageyama coming up the hill." Noya said.

"Tsukishima and Yamaguchi just went in the club room." Kinoshita says entering the gym.

I turn to Daichi. "We could maybe start warming up."

He nods. "Let's do that. You can do it yourself or with others."

"Yes sir!"

Narita pulls me up to stand.

"Thanks Narita" I say to him.

"Ya." He replies, blushing a little.

We start warming up, and the other first years come in.

After stretching, we start some drills.

"Ouginishi will be here in a few hours." Kiyoko says, coming into the gym. Yachi follows her.

"Hey Kiko and Toka" I wave to them.

They smile and wave back.

After a bit more practice, we take a break. I help Yachi get some chairs.

"Were totally not gonna lose today!" I say while taking a chair out.

"Ya!" Hinata says, popping out of somewhere.

I giggle.

"Hey Zuki, Hinata?" Yachi calls us. "Today's a practice match right?"

"Yup!" I say.

"Just wondering...how are you getting all fired up for a practice match when you study so much for the away games?" She asks shyly.

Hinata and I tilt our head, confused.

"I wanna get stronger. And win matches." Hinata says. I nod agreeing with him.

"O-oh okay."

I smile. "Well I mean, the practice matches can help us get better! We wouldn't want to lose, right Sho?"

He nods. "Ya. Theres no reason to not want to win."

Yachi tilts her head. Hinata turns beside him.

"Hey Kageyama" he calls him. "Is there a reason you don't want to lose?"

"How would I know." Kageyama replies. "Is there a reason you eat when you're hungry?"

"Hmmmm, ya" Hinata thinks to himself.

I sweatdrop.

I love volleyball, but I don't think this is on the same level as hunger.

"Sorry" Yachi says to us. "That was an inane question."

"Inane question?" Hinata and Kageyama ask.

"A foolish or senseless question said to abase oneself after asking the question!" I explain. "We litterally went over it the other day!"

Kageyama and Hinata freeze, scared

Then, the gym doors open. We all turn to see who it is.

"Thank you for having us!" Ouginishi High says at the door.

"Everyone, gather around!" Daichi calls us over.

We jog over and we stand side by side, forming a line.

I look at Ouginishi.

They look kinda strong. But theres no way we're gonna lose.

Both sides bow. "Let's play!"

The teams split up, Karasuno stay on the side and Ouginishi start practicing a little.

"We're starting soon, so get changed!" Daichi says to the team.

"Right!"

We walk over to the chairs which had our uniform top.

The boys start changing. Yachi yells and jumps behind me.

"You'll probably have to get used to this, Toka." I say to her.

"...where do you change then?" She asks me.

"Changeroom. I'll be right back!" I run out of the gym to the changeroom.

I quickly put on my uniform, and I run back to the gym.

No one sees me when I come in, so I sneak up on Asahi.

"Boo!" I jump on his back. He stumbles forward a bit, surprised.

"Mizuki!" He turns and looks at me. "Really?!"

I laugh. "Yup! Nice hairband, by the way." I point at it.

I turn and stand beside Tsukishima and Yamaguchi.

"I'm not bald!" Tanaka yells.

"Put on your shirt Tanaka!" I yell at him, laughing.

"Alright everyone, gather around!" Keishin calls us, and we walk to him.

"Since the interhigh preliminaries, this is the first match we've had." He says to all of us. "Get on the court and raise some hell!"

"Yes sir!" We cheer.

The team makes a circle.

"Karasuno, fight!"

"Yeah!"

Daichi, Asahi, Hinata, Kageyama, Tsukishima, Noya and I go on the court.

We start with Kageyama serving, and he hits the ball on the opponent's side. No one gets it, so we get the first point.

"Nice serve Kags!" I say to him.

We continue to play, everyone doing their job to keep the ball in the air and to get points.

14-21, Karasuno

Ouginishi serves, and Noya receives it.

I glance at Kageyama, and he nods, understanding me.

I run up to the net as Kageyama gets ready to set the ball to me.

He does a high set, and I jump to hit the ball.

I spike it while I'm in the air, and onto the opponents side.

It slams on the ground at the back line. I land on the ground and smile.

"Yeah!" I yell.

"Nice kill!"

I turn to Kagyeama.

Hey Kags. I think I can do it faster.

He looks at me and nods.

Ya, I think you can.

The rest of the team sweatdrops.

"How do they understand each other?"

The first set continues, and Kageyama and I practice getting the high attacks a little faster.

We win the first set. For the second one, both teams switch sides and Ouginishi serves.

The match goes by somewhat quickly, as we win 25 to 16.

After that, both teams line up and we bow.

"Thank you for the match!"

When Ouginishi leaves, we start cleaning up and putting the equipment away.

I start to put some chairs away.

"Zuki!" Yachi calls my name as she jogs to me.

"Hey Toka!" I greet her. "How d'you think of the match?"

"It was amazing! Even when I was watching, I felt...um..."

"Excited? Overwhelmed?" I suggest and she nods.

"Ya! You were amazing too! How you jumped up in the air and everything. It was like you were flying!" She waves her hands around a little.

I giggle. "Thanks Toka!"

She smiles and nods.

"You know Toka," I put my finger on my cheek. "If you really liked the match and everything, you should totally become manager!"

"Well...um..." She takes a few steps back.

"You guys are an amazing team." She says to me. "A townsperson B like me would only get in the way."

"Personally, I always wanted to be a Townsperson B." I say looking in the air, thinking.

"What do you mean?"

I sigh. "I didn't want to bring up this topic again, but anyways. You know how I was the Faclon and everything?"

She nods.

"Well, I didn't really want to stand out. I ended up doing that, so I kinda went with it. But Townsperson B can also do many things! Even though they aren't the stars of the show, they help the stars show off!"

I look down. "Which is kinda what I wanted to do..." I mumble.

I look up. "Long story short, Townsperson B is awesome in their own way!"

Yachi smiles and nods. "O-okay!"

"Sooooooo, are you gonna be the manager?" Hinata and Kageyama peek from behind me.

I sigh and I hit them in the head.

"Don't rush her!" I say to them.

Whe finish cleaning up and we split up to go home.

I go home with Keishin and we do the same thing as usual.

After doing everything, I go to bed and sleep.
