Dumbledore turned to Ginny.

"Now, let us begin. Lemon drops? he offered with a wink."I must say I am rather fond of them." Ginny politely declined. Dumbledore then started questioning her.

"Now, I need to ask you certain questions. The first one is quite obvious. What is your name?"

Ginny hesitated. She had not planned a backup story, and she definitely couldn't tell Dumbledore the truth, despite of her trust in him. It didn't quite feel right.

"Ginny Summers" she answered. She didn't know if there was any wizard family of this name. She had read it in a muggle novel Hermione had given her. She also remembered Voldemort. He should be very much powerful by this time. Maybe she could pass as half blood if necessary. She felt horrible lying to Dumbledore.

"Ms Summers" said Dumbledore." I am Albus Dumbledore, the headmaster of Hogwarts School Of Witchcraft and Wizardry. You are currently in Hogwarts. I am afraid I must ask you your full story and about how you ended up in Hogwarts grounds."

So she had been unconscious in the grounds? Nevermind, Ginny quickly thought of a convincing story.

"You see sir, I lived in London, in the muggle world, completely cut off from the wizards. My father was a muggle, but my mother was a witch. My father didn't want me to come to Hogwarts as he was a muggle and overprotective. My mother home schooled me up to the O.W.L.s level. She studied in Beauxbatons. We lead a very peaceful life. But last week, our house was attacked by deatheaters and my parents got killed. I managed to run out and mix with the muggles. I knew about The Leaky Cauldron and went there according to the directions my mum gave me. There, I met a wizard who was willing to help me after learning about my problems. I side along apparated with him to Hogsmeade. He still wanted to help but I insisted that he go.

I had read about Hogwarts School Of Witchcraft And Wizardry in Hogwarts : A History. I walked from Hogsmeade according to the directions I remembered from book. At that time some deatheaters spotted me. They came after me. I stunned one of them and managed to stumble into the grounds. Then I tripped, fell and lost my consciousness." Ginny ended her story.

Dumbledore asked, "And why, Ms Summers, did you want to come to Hogwarts in particular?"

"Sir, I read in Hogwarts: A History that Hogwarts is one of the safest places, if not the most, in the wizard world. I needed shelter and protection. So I presumed Hogwarts was the best option." Ginny answered. She had of course, never read Hogwarts : A History, but she had heard enough from Hermione to be confident about what she was saying.

Dumbledore looked at her through his half moon glasses. Her piercing blue eyes bore into her, as though they were studying the depths of her soul.

Harry was right, Ginny thought, his gaze gave the feeling that she was being scanned. She was convinced that Dumbledore saw the obvious flaws in her story and she dreaded that at any moment, Dumbledore would demand for the truth.

"Very well. Ms Summers. What is your age? "

"Sixteen" Ginny said truthfully. She wasn't seventeen yet, after all.

"So Ms Summers, you should be in the sixth year of education. Though the term started a month ago, would you like to join Hogwarts to finish your education ?"

Ginny hesitated. She didn't get to complete her sixth year because her parents pulled her out of Hogwarts in the Christmas holidays due to wretched war. Maybe it was a good idea... until she found out how to go back in her time.

"I would love to, sir." she answered.

"Good decision Ms Summers. I am afraid I have to leave now, otherwise Madam Pomfrey would kick me out. Besides, I left the Minister of Magic in my office and he would probably have turned livid by now." Dumbledore winked and left through the door, leaving Ginny to stare at the walls. Had she taken the right decision? Hopefully.

Madam Pomfrey suddenly came out of nowhere and handed her a potion."Now, no more visitors. You need to sleep. What are you doing here, get out, OUT!" she yelled at the door. Apparently someone was trying to get a peek of her.

She didn't have time to think about anything. She felt very dizzy and slipped into a deep, dreamless sleep.
