"You heard me. I want to stay here, with the girl of my dreams, and study what I like, not what you want me to study," Tyler said, taking back my hand and smiling at me in the end.

"Look, Tyler, I have many plans for you, and your future in my business will be bright. Do you really want to ruin everything?" his dad asked.

Tyler's mum took his hand and squeezed it. Like she wanted to pass him a message or something.

"Dad, I'm eighteen years old and I have taken my decision. I love Cat and I want to stay here with her. Also, I like engineering and we both know I'm good at it too," he smirked.

His dad rolled his eyes, but smiled. "Yes, you are. Honestly, son, I'm proud of you. And I hope that you made the right decision. Both in choosing a girl and in choosing a future."

"Thanks, dad," he smiled and after giving me a kiss, we all went back to eat.

After lunch, Tyler, Alexa and I went to Tyler's room.

I had never been in his room before, so I took my time examining it.

The walls were dark blue and the floor was wooden, like most of the house. The dark, expensive wood, that only rich people could afford.

That said a lot about his family.

There weren't many things inside the room. A desk with a chair, on which Alexa sat, a wardrobe and two beds with one nightstand each.

"Why do you have two beds?" I asked, sitting down at the edge of one of them.

"Sometimes my brother comes to visit, so he sleeps here," Alexa said, while typing something on her phone.

"I thought you were an only child," I said confused.

"She is," Tyler nodded, sitting next to me.

"Four years after my mum left me with my dad, he got married to a woman, who already had a child. His name is Lucas and he is a year older than us," she said looking up. "I call him my brother because our parents are married," she shrugged.

I smiled. Out of nowhere, she found an older brother. That was so sweet.

"So when am I going to meet him?" I asked wiggling my eyebrows, jokingly.

"Never, if you keep doing that," Tyler warned me, frowning.

I laughed and kissed his cheek. "Aww, you jealous idiot. You know that I only love you," I hugged him.

He smiled and kissed me. "Yeah, yeah," he laughed.

My phone buzzed in my pocket and I took it out. Seeing the message I had just got, I slapped my forehead and sighed.

"What happened?" Tyler asked me.

"The other idiots are using the credit card without telling me. But they are so st*pid that they didn't even remember that I get a message wherever it's being used," I rolled my eyes and stood up.

"Don't leave," Tyler grabbed my hand and stuck his bottom lip out.

I bent down and kissed his lip. "I have to. Can you drive me home?"

He nodded and we left, after I said goodbye to everyone.

"Do you know what they are using the credit card for?" Tyler asked me once we were in the car.

"I can think of something, but I hope it's not that," I shook my head.

"You know, you don't have to be so... I don't know... Overprotective? The amount money you inherited is pretty huge. Don't worry about it so much."

I sighed again. "I know. But if we don't save up and waste it all, I will have to work again, and I can't do it. You don't know how it is to be responsible for everything. I just can't do it."
