AN ANNIVERSARY SPECIAL

PUDDLES

ROSALIE BEAMED UP at her father as he pulled the hood of her new duck ufo raincoat. jimin smiled softly at her as he tucked her hair into the hood. "are you happy now?" he questioned, brows moving up. her smile became wider in response.

this whole situation was taehyung's fault. and the damn man wasn't even there to help him. the three of them had gone shopping when taehyung had spotted the raincoat. jimin had never seen anything like it before then, wondering if it was supposed to be an umbrella with a hood. and what who created it had been thinking. granted, it was genius, but jimin found it quite strange.

taehyung just had to point out the ducky versions and get rosalie all excited until jimin bought her one with matching ducky rain boots. and now that it was raining, she was insisting on wearing them.

she pointed to the door. "let's go outside." doe eyes turned to look at him. his shut as he rubbed the bridge of his nose. how he would've loved it if jangmi were there. she would know how to handle this. "princess, it's raining outside."

her bottom lip jutted out in a pouted, lashes fluttering as her large eyes blinked. jimin sighed, unable to resist that puppy dog look. "who taught you to make that face?" he asked as he straightened. "uncle tae! he said it's magic." the four-year-old responded excitedly.

her father froze, his expression blank for less than a second before he blinked, brows moving up. "magic how?" he inquired as he slipped into a blue and black raincoat. "if i make it, i'll get anything i want!" the girl enthusiastically answered, throwing her hands up.

jimin's lip pressed in a thin line, nostrils flaring as he took in a deep breath. "i'm going to kill him." he muttered underneath his breath. throwing the hood of the raincoat over his head, he reached for rosalie's hand. skipping excitedly, she let him lead her out of the house.

the rain wasn't really heavy, but it was still enough to make jimin worry about his daughter catching a cold. jangmi would probably kill him if she did. "let's go to the corner store to get snacks."

the kindergartner's eyes lit up, hopping in place and she let her father take her hand. she hopped all the way to the store. jimin chuckled as she picked anything she found interesting and put it in the basket he held.

"papa!" she pointed at the shelf holding boxes of chocolate chip cookies. with a shake of his head, he picked a box. "c'mon, we have to get home before mummy." he smiled, leading her to the checkout counter. quickly paying, they stepped out into rain.

jimin took her hand, grip tightening on the bag of goodies he held. they walked down the street back home, jimin glancing down at her every so often. rosalie looked up at her father only to step in a rain puddle. she gasped, staring down at the small pool of water.

tentatively, she dropped her foot into it again. her eyes widened with fascination and she let go of her father's hand. his eyes moved to her face as she tried to move out of his grip. grinning at her focus on the ground, he let her go.

she ran towards another puddle, her father keeping an eye on her as she moved, hoping she wouldn't fall on her face. she jumped into the puddle, excited giggles leaving her lips.

she turned to look at her father, splashing about in the puddle, eyes big. he smiled back at her, pulling his phone out to record her. she took off again towards another puddle. jimin hurried after, saying a quiet prayer that she wouldn't get hurt.

he laughed as she waddled to it, stomping her feet in it, splashing water all over. she looked at him again and squealed in delight. "papa!" she hopped in it, all giggly and excitable. he gave her a thumbs up. "have fun, princess!" he held the camera up, crouching a bit to record the happy girl.

"jangmi's going to love this." he mumbled. "sure, right after i hang you on the clothesline." a voice chimed. he twisted around, gazing up to see jangmi staring down at him, left brow up, hand on her hip. his eyes widened and lips parted in a grin. "hey!" he chuckled nervously. "hi," she smiled slow, deadly.

"what's happening here?" she asked, watching him straighten. "we went out for snacks?" he lifted the bag for her to see. "is that so?" her eyes strayed to their daughter. "and what is she wearing?" she questioned, left brow moving even higher.

"a ducky ufo raincoat. also known as taehyung's fault." jimin replied, eyes on the girl. "it's kind of cute." jangmi pursed her lips in a small smile. "okay, so it's very cute."

the four-year-old turned around, eyes rounding. "mummy!" she waddled towards them. "my beautiful angel!" jangmi held her arms out. rosalie ran into them. "okay, so it's cute but makes hugging hard." her mother groaned. "mummy, look at my ducky!" the girl pointed at her raincoat. "yes, very pretty!"

jangmi straightened with a smile, letting the girl continue splashing around in puddles. "isn't she the cutest?" jimin sighed, wrapping an arm around her. "definitely." she grinned, watching her play. "just like her mum." he kissed her temple. "i'm still killing you if she catches a cold."
