Delilah's POV:

After Draco and I changed into our robes, we exited the train, both holding one of Indie's hands so she was in the middle of us as she insisted on walking on her own.

She wasn't the fastest walked though, so we ended up almost missing the carriages, but luckily we made it just in time.

We boarded the final carriage and, because it was the last one, there was no one else around so we had it to ourselves.

"So this is what thestrals look like then", I said sadly, the memories of Ash flashing through my mind.

"Yeah, I guess so", Draco said gloomily. We were both still so young, yet we had already witnessed some horrible moments in our lives, and we knew that so many more people this year would've been able to see them for the first time as well.

"Hey, do you mind if I join you?" a voice spoke from behind us.

We turned around and saw that it was Harry Potter. I was actually surprised that he came back as I thought he'd be busy with all this 'defeating the Dark Lord' stuff.

I looked up to Draco before saying, "no, we don't mind at all", even though I could tell Draco was a little upset that we wouldn't get to spend the ride as a family.

"Thanks, Ron and 'mione were getting a bit too lovey dovey for my liking so I had to leave them", he said as he boarded the carriage with us.

"They're dating?" Draco questioned, an amused look plastered on his face.

"Yeah, they are. I feel like a third wheel most of the time now but anywho", he said when the carriage started to go off towards Hogwarts.

"Auntie 'mione!" Indie shouted at the mention of Hermione, drawing Harry's attention to her.

"Uh- am I going crazy or is there a toddler sitting right next to you?" he asked, only just seeming to notice her. I forgot no one still knew about Indie.

I laughed at his comment before replying, "No, you're not going crazy. This is Indie, our daughter."

"Indie's your kid?" he asked, looking at me, to which I nodded, "Hermione's told me so much about her, but not that you were the parents."

It made me smile that Hermione talked about Indie to other people, but I was relieved that she didn't tell anyone about Draco and I as, at the time, we weren't ready for people to know.

"So, you two huh?" he smirked as he looked between the two of us.

"Yeah", I chuckled, but I didn't know what else to say.

"Thanks man, by the way", Harry said as he looked over to Draco, "you know, for not telling Bellatrix it was me and not calling Voldemort."

I could tell Draco was slightly uncomfortable talking to Harry, but he knew it would upset me if he was rude so he just said, "I could say the same to you about the Room of Requirements."

"It was nothing", he said as he looked in the direction of Hogwarts.

I was happy that these two were finally somewhat getting along, after their interesting history, and everything with Lucius and Voldemort. Even though I didn't talk to Harry much, it was nice to know that the two of them would be able to tolerate each other now if we were to ever be in the same room.

The rest of the carriage ride was over before we knew it, as Indie spent most of the time just pointing out and attempting to name everything in site, which made Harry laugh at how adorable she was.

We got off the carriage and started walking towards the entrance of Hogwarts, Harry had already gone off ahead so it was just the three of us now. I knew the same thoughts were going through Draco and I's head about all of the memories that walking through these doors brought. Some were happy, but most were sad.

Our eyes widened as we entered and started walking up the stairs towards the Great Hall. The place looked exactly the same as it did before the war which shocked us both. It almost looks as if nothing ever happens and I was surprised about how little time they did it in as well.

When we got to the doors of the Great Hall, the first years were already waiting outside and being told what to do so we had to squeeze past them.

"Okay, I'll take her from here", Draco said, signalling to Indie.

"Fine", I said, sad that I had to leave her, but I knew there was no way I could change Draco's mind as he already dibs on her being a Slytherin today. And, after all, she was wearing the robes.

I gave her a kiss on the forehead then watched Draco walk her off into the hall and proudly over to the Slytherin table. As we got the last carriage, pretty much everyone was already there and sat down.

I could see almost all of the students staring at Draco and the toddler he was holding hands with. She looked so much like him, so they knew that it must have been his daughter, but everyone looked shocked at the thought of Draco already having a daughter but no one dared to say anything.

He reached the Slytherin table and sat down, placing Indie on his lap. He completely ignored all the eyes on him and just started talking to his friends as though there wasn't anything different.

When I saw that Indie was okay, I walked myself over to the Ravenclaw table and sat next to Gray and opposite Cho and Luna. I could tell Luna was about to say something, but was stopped when the first years started walking in.

So far, I don't think anyone worked out that I was the mother of Indie, mainly because I was a Ravenclaw, but also because I wasn't sitting with either of them.

The sorting started and it felt as though it was going on forever, I just wanted to be with Draco and Indie. After each person was sorted into their house, I heard Indie cheering with everyone else, even if they weren't put in Slytherin. I could tell that Draco was trying to get her to be quiet after each one but it never worked so he just gave up in the end and let her cheer, causing a few laughs to erupt from the Slytherin table at her enthusiasm.

After the sorting was over, Professor McGonagall went up to say her first speech as the new headmaster of Hogwarts. She welcomed us back and told us about a few of the changes that have happened in the school, but pretty much everything stayed the same. She also told us that there is now a centre we can go to in the school where we can talk about our worries and concerns, whether that is about the battle that just happened, or about anything in the general.

When she finished her speech, the meal appeared on the table and we all started digging into the food and talking with our friend.

"So she's a Slytherin huh?" Grayson said, breaking the silence in our group.

"For today she is, yes. She has both of the houses robes so we're going to take it in turns, so I'll have her tomorrow", I replied as I piled some chicken onto my plate.

"Do you know if you're staying in the same place you did last year, or if you're coming back to the Ravenclaw dorms?" Cho asked, wanting to know if we'd be sharing rooms again.

"In the letter Draco and I got given, it said we'd be able to stay there, so I think we will, but we're going to talk to Madam Pomfrey first."

"Oh, okay. You will come and see us every day though won't you? Even if we don't have classes with you", Cho questioned, obviously a little upset that I'm still not sharing a dorm with her again.

"Of course I will! You guys can also come and visit all the time", I said.

"Mama!" I heard Indie shout. I looked over to where her and Draco were sitting, and I could see her looking around for me.

"Dada, we need mama", she shouted again. It made me very happy that she missed me even though I saw her last not even an hour ago.

I saw Draco say something to her, but I wasn't close enough to be able to lip read or hear it. He then got up from his chair and placed Indie down on the floor. I looked around and saw that everyone was eagerly watching him to find out who the mother of Draco's child was, but I didn't really care.

Indie started running off as Draco had let go of her, so Draco was quickly chasing after her to catch her before she could do anything bad. The Slytherin table started chuckling slightly at the image of Draco Malfoy trying to catch an out of control toddler. He finally managed to catch up with her and took hold of her hand, preventing from escaping him again.

His eyes scanned the Ravenclaw table for me and his face lit up when he saw me, giving me a smile. He then started to lead Indie over to me, so she wouldn't shout for me anymore, and I could see him saying a few things to her as they walked over.

"Mama!" Indie shouted as soon as she caught sight of me. She started trying to pull Draco along so she could get to me faster, but eventually Draco gave up trying to control her and just let her run free.

"Hello sweetie", I said as soon as she came up to me. I picked her up in my arms and sat her down on my lap.

"Sorry, she just really wanted to see you", Draco said as he also reached me, giving me a quick kiss on top of my head. He really has changed, I thought.

I could hear a few murmurs around us about 'Slytherin' and 'Ravenclaw' and 'baby', but I didn't really mind as I focused my attention onto Draco and Indie.

"That's alright, I was just finishing up anyway", I said, not wanting him to feel bad about disrupting my meal.

Draco gave a polite nod to Grayson, Cho and Luna, to not seem rude, even though I knew that he didn't really like them that much.

"Mr Malfoy, Miss Davis, may I have a word?" we heard McGonagall say from behind us.

"Of course", I said, standing up off the seat with Indie still in my arms.

We followed Professor McGonagall over to the front of the hall so she could have a conversation with us without all the students listening in.

"Go on, get back to your meals", she said to the students when she realised everyone was still silent, staring at the two kids with a kid. Everyone went back to talking with their friends but I could still see quite a few people staring our way.

"Well, first of all, I'm glad to have you two are back and it's lovely to see you again all happy and healthy", she began.

"Thank you Professor, we can say the same about you", I said.

"Now, as you probably already saw in the letter you were sent a few days ago, your apartment in the infirmary has been repaired so you three are able to stay there if you would please, but if you would rather, you could continue to have your old rooms in the Ravenclaw and Slytherin dormitories."

"As much as we loved our house dorms, I think we would rather have our own space in the infirmary apartment with Indie, if that is alright", Draco said.

"Lovely, so when you have finished your meals, you may head straight up there and have a quick chat with Madam Pomfrey and she will help you settle in. Your bags will already be up there waiting for you when you arrive."

"Thank you so much Professor", we said.

"Say goodbye Indie", I said to my daughter.

"Bye bye!" she shouted, waving her arms crazily at McGonagall.

"How sweet!" the Professor said before waving to Indie then walking off to finish her own dinner.

"Did you finished eating?" I asked Draco, wondering if he had had enough to eat before Indie interrupted him and made him come to see me.

"Yeah I have, but I think Indie's still a little hungry", he replied.

"Hungry!" she shouted.

"There's normally some food in the fridge in the apartment so she can have some of that", I said after Indie's remark.

"Good idea, shall we get going then?" he asked as he grabbed hold of my hand.

"Yeah, lets go", I said. We walked hand in hand to the doors of the Great Hall, sensing all the eyes on us but not having a care in the world, then made our way up to the infirmary apartment to get settled in.
