It's kind of sad how Clover hovers around campus looking for Changkyun. Meanwhile he left out the back way ten minutes ago. She spots me and waves, I do the same.

Clover: Have you seen Changkyun?

Yes.

Me: I can't say that I have.

She frowns, a deep sigh leaving from her body.

Me: Is something wrong?
Clover: My dad wants him over for dinner tonight.
Me: So why didn't your dad ask instead of forcing you to hunt him down like a bounty hunter?

Honestly her standing in the middle of campus dressed in a beautiful all white chanel pants suit, black YSL pumps and princess cut diamond jewelry is fucking ridiculous. Girl you are going to get robbed by a college student who only wants an espresso and his essay to write itself before 11:59pm.

Clover: Apparently he blocked my dad's number.
Me: I hate to be the one to say it but that may mean he wants to be left alone, no?
Clover: When you come from a family like Changkyun and I's it doesn't matter what you want.

That's sad.

Clover: Anyways, I better get going. Maybe I'll see him on my drive.
Me: Maybe. See ya' later!

Because I'm sure she'll be back later.

Oddly enough I got a text from Jin inviting me over for dinner. Clearly he didn't tell Jungkook because the poor boy answered the door shirtless and half sleep.

"Hyung!"

Jin's laugh echos through the house making me laugh as well. I go into the kitchen to see he's made baked fish, spinach, mixed vegetables and croissants.

Jin: Hungry?
Me: I'm always hungry.

Once Jungkook puts on a shirt he comes downstairs to join us. I smile before rubbing his arm.

Me: I didn't mind you know.
Jungkook: Shut up.

The doorbell rings again and Jungkook looks at his brother.

Jin: Can you grab that?

Judging from his face he's up to know good. Once I hear the familiar voices I see my hunch was correct.

Haechan: Holy shit man this place is huge.
Changkyun: Act like you've been somewhere.
Jin: Welcome fellas! Just in time.

Jungkook looks around in shock.

Jungkook: Why are they here?
Jin: Because they're family for the next eight months. Sit.

Jungkook is flabbergasted meanwhile I'm on my second plate. Changkyun pats my back as I choke on my water.

Haechan: Slow down the salmon isn't going to jump back into the ocean.
Changkyun: With the way she's eating it might.

Me: Shut up.

Jin takes a sip of wine.

Jin: So has anyone told their parents.
Jungkook: Hyung.
Jin: It's a legit question.
Jungkook: One you know the answer to.

He sighs.

Jin: Are you waiting on Christmas?

Jungkook rolls his eyes.

Changkyun: Why do you care so much?
Jin: I told you last time. It's important to know for the sake of the child. No child should come into the world with uncertainty regarding love for it.

For the first time since I met him his face gets serious.

Jin: The pain of being six years old and overhearing your father say he never wanted you or anything to do with you is something I have to bare everyday.

Jungkook drops his fork.

Jin: Ah, I never told you the story. Yeah I was coloring and living a happy life, or so I thought at that time. I went to show our parents what I drew but they were so deep into an argument they didn't hear me at the door. Then dad yelled those words I'd never forget.

My heart aches for him.

Jin: I asked mom about it when she was alone and of course she blamed it on him being angry. Your father loves you very much is all she kept saying but once you put how he treated me and what he said together it makes sense.

He leans back in his chair.

Jin: Kids are the purest thing in the world. Make sure they're loved and away from those who don't love them. You three, will you live this child unconditionally if it's yours?

"Of course!"

All the baby daddies answer at once.

Jin: Will you Eve?
Me: Without a doubt.

He smiles petting my head gently.

Jin: I know you all will.

I sit on the couch eating popcorn as I watch Changkyun attempt to put together a crib. He swore up and down he was bob the builder but he ain't shit.

Me: Did you read the instructions.
Changkyun: I don't need them.
Me: Seems to me like you do.

He glared at me before banging a hammer against the wheel. That looks wrong as hell but I'm going to hush. Someone knocks at the door and I go over to answer it. My mom stands there with shopping bags and practically shoved me out the way.

Mom: I know we don't know the gender.

Oh God.

Mom: So I got unisex colors like yellow, orange, baby blue.

She pulls out a stack of different color onesies with matching baby booties.

Me: You went baby shopping?
Mom: I have to make sure my grandchild is set.

She looks over at a struggling Changkyun.

Mom: Is that a crib?
Me: Yeah, he bought it and doesn't know how to assemble it.
Changkyun: I know what I'm doing.
Me: You don't and that's okay.

My mom giggles before walking over.

Mom: Mind if I help honey? I had two kids so I can do this in my sleep.
Me: Really?
Mom: Yeah, you're dad was working so I had to play handy man from time to time.

She sits on the floor beside Changkyun and begins to help him.

Mom: Thank you for sticking with my daughter. We may not know who the future will give us but thank you for being here.

He smiles.

Changkyun: Of course.

We make eye contact and I blush.
