I laugh slightly as I watch Scarlett frantically try to finish up setting up the house for Lucas' birthday, she insisted that we all get here extra early, so we can set up before he gets back from training. She had organised him a surprise party, after he told us that he only wanted something low-key year.

One of the only downfalls about Scarlett was that she didn't understand the concept of low-key.

Numerous brightly coloured banners were darted across the walls, fairy-lights illuminate the room. His favourite music was blasting through the speakers, she had blown up a poster-sized version picture of him from when he was a baby. To be fair, the picture was adorable, his face was covered in chocolate, and he was holding a strawberry.

The kitchen island was covered in various bottles of alcohol, she transformed the kitchen table into a game of beer-pong. In their back garden, Toby and Sammy where bickering like an old married couple about how to set up the gazebo correctly.

'What if he hates it?!' Scarlett cries out as frown forms on her face.

I shake my head, 'He will probably hate you for throwing him a party, when he specifically told you not to. But he will love all of this.'

'He's turning eighteen! I couldn't just stand here and do nothing!'

The doorbell rings, she perks up before racing to answer the door, I tense slightly as a flood of people enter the room. Scarlett mentioned that there was a chance, I wouldn't know half of the people coming. Most of them being his friends from his old school or people he's met through boxing.

It turns out Lucas is a pretty popular guy.

Not that I was surprised, it pains me to admit but he's extremely charismatic. He could probably charm a plant into talking.

I give Sammy a soft smile as he walks up to me with a nervous expression, 'Hey, you okay?'

'I-I invited Zayn.'

My eyes widen, 'Hunky barman, Zayn?'

His cheeks flush red, 'Actually, my boyfriend Zayn.'

'Dude, what the fuck? I'm so happy for you.'

'T-Thanks, this will be our first outing as a couple and I'm extremely shitting it.'

'D-Does Toby know?'

He lets out a sigh of relief, 'Yeah, I told him last night and he was really cool about it, he even offered to help me set up a grinder account.'

I laugh, 'That does sound like Toby.'

'I kind of regret not telling anyone sooner, I knew that they would all be okay with it.'

'You waited until the time was right for you.'

'Yeah, thank you for giving me the courage to finally be myself.'

'Thank you for giving me the opportunity to help you find that courage.'

He flashes me a bright grin, 'I still find it crazy that we are friends.'

'What? Why?'

'I-I just always thought that you'd find me really dorky or annoying.'

'I do but now you are one of my favourite people.'

His smile widens, 'I'm really glad, that you decided to let us all in. I could tell when you first started hanging out with us, that you really didn't want too.'

'I think letting you guys in, is the best decision I've ever made.'

Sammy raises an eyebrow at me, 'Are you drunk already?'

I shrug, 'No, I'm just happy.'

'It's really nice to see you happy, Autie.'

'Autie?'

He winces, 'Yeah, don't tell Scarlett I called you that, she'd kill me.'

'Don't worry, it can be our little secret.'

'So, it's Luke's birthday...'

'Yeah, I know we've literally just spent two hours decorating.'

'So, do you think you might make a move tonight?'

I narrow my eyes, 'Why are you so insistent, that I have a thing for him?'

'Because I have eyes. Come on, just talk to me. I'm really good at guy talk.'

I roll my eyes, 'F-Fine, I may have a tiny thing for him.'

'I knew it! Toby owes me five dollars.'

'You tell anyone, you are fucking dead. You understand me?'

He gulps before nodding quickly, 'I-I understand.'

'Good.'

Scarlett rushes over to us with a flustered expression, 'H-He's just pulled into the driveway, everyone get into position!'

I laugh slightly as she turns off the lights, I hide behind the sofa with Sammy close next to me. The front door opens, followed by heavy footsteps.

'Scar? You home?'

Butterflies enter my stomach when I hear his voice, please someone shoot me now. I don't think anyone has had the ability to give me butterflies just by hearing them talk.

The lights switch on, we all quickly jump to our feet with bright smiles.

'SURPRISE!'

His cheeks go pink ever so slightly as he jumps into the air clearly startled, he lets out a breath of relief as he holds his hand against his chest.

'Jesus Christ, you fuckers. You scared me.'

Scarlett walks over to him with a birthday hat in hand, 'Happy birthday big brother!'

He narrows his eyes playfully at her, 'I thought I said, low-key.'

'I thought I said that I didn't care.'

He chuckles before embracing her into a tight hug, she lets out a happy squeal as she clutches onto him tighter.

'Thank you all for coming, but I need to take a quick shower and get changed, then I will be back down!'

I watch as he gives everyone a brief wave before jogging upstairs. Sammy turns to me a wink when he notices that my stare has lingered for a little too long.

'Stop that!' I hiss.

'Can I play wing-man?'

'No, you can't. You would make it way too obvious.'

'You've got a good point.'

'So, when is Zayn getting here?'

'I-I think in about an hour.'

I give him a nudge, 'Are you excited to see him?'

'Extremely but I'm also really scared that people are going to give us looks or judge us.'

'If you see anyone doing that, then just send them my way. I'll put my boxing moves on them.'

'Also, what is this I hear about you being a ballerina?'

I narrow my eyes, 'How do you know about that?'

'I know everything. I just can't picture someone as intimating as you doing something as graceful as ballet.'

'I know, sometimes I would make the other ballerina's cry.'

'That doesn't surprise me.'

My heart stops when I notice Lucas walking down the stairs, he's wearing baggy jeans with a mint green t-shirt, his chain and ring on show as per-usual.

Why is he so fucking handsome?

He's honestly that beautiful, sometimes it physically hurts to look at him.

'Autumn?'

'Hmm.'

'You have some drool on your chin.'

I narrow my eyes before smacking Sammy on the shoulder, 'Shut up.'

He clutches his arm, 'Jesus, you are a lot stronger than you look.'

'Consider that a warning.'

I feel my stomach flutter as he walks over to us with a heart stopping smile, I literally feel like my knees could give out at any minute.

This is sickening.

'Hey guys! Scar said that you helped to set this up, so I just wanted to say thank you.'

'Of course, buddy. Happy Birthday!'

My heart warms as the two boys share a brief hug with one another.

'Happy birthday Luke.' I say softly as he turns his attention to me.

His expression softens, 'Thanks, love.'

'Are we back on love now?'

He shrugs, 'I'm eighteen, I fancied a change. Am I allowed a birthday hug?'

My heart literally skips a beat, 'Y-Yeah.'

'Are you sure?'

I roll my eyes, 'Just hug me, already!'

I go on my tiptoes, so I can my arms around his neck, I tense slightly as his arms snake around my waist. But I relax when I feel his head bury into the crook of my neck.

'This is a very long hug guys, just saying.' Sammy pipes up.

We both immediately pull away, I send daggers in the mousy-brown haired boy's direction.

'So, where's my present?'

'Is that all you care about?'

'Obviously love, it's my birthday. It's literally the law that I get a present.'

'I don't think it's quite a law.'

'Trust me, it is.'

I roll my eyes before walking towards the kitchen island where my present sat, it was wrapped in Disney Princess wrapping paper. I return to him with a sheepish smile on my face.

He cocks an eyebrow at me, 'Princess wrapping paper, seriously?'

'It felt wrong not too.'

Nerves bundle inside of my stomach as I watch him sloppily unwrap my gift, I bit my lip anxiously as he holds them up.

'These are the boxing shorts, that I wanted! How did you know?'

My cheeks burn, 'I-I remember you talking to some guy at the boxing gym about them, after one of our training sessions.'

'This is seriously so fucking cool!'

'C-Check the inside of the waistband.'

'Why?'

'Just check it.'

His face literally explodes with happiness as he checks it, before laughter erupts from his lips.

'A tiara, seriously?'

I shrug before giving him a cheeky smile, 'I just thought that I could be your good luck charm.'

'Well, I was actually going to ask if you would come to my match in three weeks?'

'I-I would love too.'

'You too Sam, I want all of my family there cheering me on.'
