I grimace when we step into the overly crowded mall, Christmas shopping season was upon us, and personally I couldn't be fucked with it. Why did Lucas have to have his birthday so close to the busiest time of the year for shopping?

I wanted to get his present online, but Scarlett insisted that you didn't get the same experience as going in person. So here we are, squashed in between numerous people in an over-priced store.

'Wait, so you two slept in the same bed?!'

I roll my eyes, 'Yes, Scar. This is fourth and last time I will be answering that question.'

'That is such a big step for you, I feel like a proud mother.'

'I know, you started crying the first time I told you.'

Scarlett gives me a sheepish smile, 'I didn't cry that much.'

'You were literally sobbing.'

The pink haired girl places a hand to her chest, 'Is it a crime to be incredibly happy and proud for my best friend?'

I chew the inside of my cheek, 'I actually missed out one little detail.'

She grabs my shoulders and spins me around, 'Tell me right now!'

'H-He kind of hinted that he might ask me out on a date, but I couldn't tell if he was kidding or not.'

Her eyes nearly bulge out of her head, 'This may be the happiest day of my life.'

I wrinkle my nose, 'Seriously?'

'Yes! Until you get married, then that will be the happiest day of my life.'

I scoff, 'Scar, I don't even know if he was being serious. Plus, he just broke up with his girlfriend and I don't want to be a rebound.'

'There is no way in hell that you are a rebound, if anything these girls are a distraction.'

'A distraction from what, exactly?'

'His true feelings.'

'Has he ever mentioned that he could potentially have feelings for me?'

'Well, no not exactly. But I'm a blabbermouth, so he might just be worried I'd tell you.'

I narrow my eyes, 'You haven't blabbed about my feelings, have you?'

'God, no! He's my brother, I don't care about him as much.'

I laugh, 'I don't think that's the right attitude to have.'

'It's the attitude, I'm having.'

'So, did anything happen with Toby at the party?' I ask as I scan the shelves trying to find something at-least half decent for the birthday boy.

Her cheeks flush slightly, 'No, not really. I mean he held my hair back when he found me throwing my guts out in the bathroom, and then helped me calm down when I had a panic attack because I thought I killed you when Luke messaged me, saying that he was taking you to the emergency room.'

'You do realise, I was very much alive when you last saw me?'

She shrugs, 'I was still scared.'

I purse my lips together, 'I have no fucking idea, on what to get him.'

'I usually get him something for his X-box.'

My eyes widen when I see a familiar boy with his arms wrapped around a petite red-headed girl, my stomach drops slightly.

'Scar, I think we should go to a different store.'

Her eyebrows furrow together, 'What? Why? We've literally just walked in here.'

'I just feel like this isn't Luke's vibe.'

'It's literally a store designed for teenage boys?'

'Yeah, but we both know he has the mental age of a ten-year-old.'

'I won't argue with you there.'

My eyes flicker back to the couple, I grimace when I notice that they are kissing.

'What are you looking at?' She asks as she starts to turn her around, I grab her shoulders her to stop her from moving any further.

'N-Nothing.' I squeak out.

'You're acting weird.'

I frown as she peels my hands away from her figure and turns around fully, I watch as her entire body deflates, her happy expression now completely crestfallen.

'I-I didn't know that he was dating someone.'

'A-Are you okay?'

Tears glisten in her large green eyes as she shakes her head, 'N-No, not really.'

'He's an idiot.'

'H-He's not, we both agreed that it was only sex, he has no idea that I have feelings for him.'

I let out a small sigh, 'Do you want to go and grab some ice-cream?'

'B-But you don't really like ice-cream that much, I've noticed you barely even touch it, I always end up finishing yours.'

'No, I don't really like ice-cream. But I like you.'

A small smile forms on her face, 'Ice-cream, actually sounds great.'

I link her arm with mine as we end up heading towards her favourite place to grab dessert, I think she's dragged me here nearly eighty times in our 3 months of friendship. I let her order for me before I slide her my debit card and find us a seat. I choose one near the back of the store. I laugh slightly as she nearly trips up trying to balance four different cones in her hands.

'Okay, so I couldn't decide between chocolate or fruity and I thought why don't just have both?'

'Thanks.'

'No, thank you for paying! I've never actually had a girl friend buy me anything before. It feels really nice.'

'Obviously, I'm paying, you're sad. So, this is my treat.'

'You are actually such a sweetheart, deep down.'

I narrow my eyes, 'No, I'm not.'

'Yes, you are.'

I let out a small sigh, 'I kind of missing cheerleading.'

Her eyebrows knit together, 'Seriously? You always tell me how much you despise it.'

I shrug, 'I think I've just been lying to myself.'

'Do you think that you'd ever try and get back onto the squad?'

I take a small lick of my ice-cream, 'No, I don't want to associate with any of them anymore. They proved they weren't real friends, and I can't be assed with faking it. But I was thinking about re-starting my ballet lessons.'

Scarlett's eyes widen, 'Y-You're a ballerina?'

'Ex-ballerina, but yes.'

'I should have known, ballerinas are always so beautiful and agile.'

I give her a soft smile, 'You are such a little flirt.'

'Only for you Autie, only for you.'

I grimace when I hear a chair scrape against the floor, I look up to see a familiar pair of hazel eyes looking down at me.

'How are my favourite girls?'

I roll my eyes, 'Please don't call me your favourite girl.'

Lucas laughs, 'I just wanted to see how you'd react.'

'Autie was just telling me about her re-starting her ballet lessons.'

He turns to me with a smirk, 'Princess, you're a ballerina?'

'Yes.'

He lets out a low whistle, 'Fuck, I'm going to be honest. That's pretty hot.'

My cheeks burn as my stomach flutters, 'Don't be gross.'

He holds his hands up, 'I was just being honest, does that mean that you're really flexible?'

I narrow my eyes, 'Are you extra horny today or something?'

'I haven't had sex in nearly three days, I'm struggling.'

'You poor baby, how will you cope?'

He leans closer towards me, my breath hitches at the heated glint in his eyes, 'Maybe, you can help me cope.'

I feel my entire body turn a deep shade of crimson, 'W-What?'

He bursts out laughing, 'God, princess. You are just too easy to mess with.'

'I really dislike you, you are no longer getting a birthday present.'

'What the fuck? Why are you being so mean?'

'Because you are a dick.'

'I agree.' Scarlett pipes up as she licks one of her ice-cream cones.

Lucas' face drops slightly, 'A-Am I actually upsetting you?'

No, you are just extremely confusing and I'm starting to get slightly concerned that I'm getting sexually attracted to someone for the first time in months.

'No, don't worry. I know how to take a joke.'

His eyebrows knit together, 'You think I'm joking?'

'You aren't?'

He shoots me a boyish grin, 'I guess, you'll have to wait and see.'

What the holy fuck is happening?

Why is he suddenly acting flirty towards me?

I think I need a lie down, I don't think my brain can comprehend all of these changes.
