I raise an eyebrow as Scarlett comes skipping over to our table wearing a Santa hat, her grin so bright it's almost blinding.

'Happy December first, you beautiful angels!' She sings as she takes a seat next to Toby.

The blonde-haired boy next to her laughs softly before flicking the bobble at the end of her hat, 'Someone is feeling festive.'

'I'm always festive Tobes!'

I hear a familiar groan before a large figure plops down next to me, 'You've got your Santa hat on which only means one thing.'

'Secret Santa!' The pink haired girl squeals, 'And this year, we get to add an extra name to the hat!'

I watch as Sammy awkwardly walks over towards us all, his cheeks flushing when he realises that the only empty spot is next too Toby.

'So, you guys do this every year?'

Scarlett nods proudly, 'We do, I love it! One of my favourite activities is actually gift-giving.'

Toby nods in agreement, 'She's really fucking good at it too.'

Her cheeks blush slightly, 'I really, am! I'm kind of hoping I get you Autie, it's our first Christmas as friends!'

Lucas turns to me with a smirk on his face, 'I've just got a feeling, you are really shit at picking out gifts.'

I narrow my eyes before scoffing, 'Yeah, like you would be any good at it, you probably just give people a pack of cigarettes.'

He shrugs, 'Well, we will have to see, won't we?'

Scarlett grabs small, folded pieces of papers out of her pocket, she takes off her hat before putting them all inside and shaking it around, 'The rules are you can't get yourself, if you get your own name, you have to go again. And you can NOT, I repeat NOT, tell anyone who you got!'

'When do we exchange gifts?'

Sammy speaks up, 'We usually do it at Toby's Christmas Eve party before anyone gets there.'

'Now, I only think it's fair that our lovely newcomer, gets to go first!' Scarlett says as she shoves the hat an inch away from my face.

I blink, 'Thanks Scar.'

I bit my lips before I rummage around the hat picking out a piece of paper, I hide it underneath the table as I glance on it. Written in cursive, with sparkly pink gel pen, read the name:

Sammy

I try my best not to automatically look at him as I snap my head back up, I glance around the room awkwardly.

'You want to look at the person you've got, don't you?'

I roll my eyes at the boy sat next to me, 'No, I don't dumbass.'

'Yes, you do.'

'You really irritate me.'

He laughs, his laughter causing a warmth in my stomach, 'No, I don't princess. You love me, admit it.'

'I'd rather drop dead.'

'I'll carry your casket.'

I laugh slightly, 'Thanks, I really appreciate it.'

I watch as one by one everyone picks out a name, I try and study their faces to see if I can figure out who has my name. But it was useless all their expressions were stone-cold.

Scarlett claps excitedly, 'So, we all have our names, I love this tradition so much!'

Toby turns to look at her warmly, 'And we love you for organising it every year.'

I slyly turn my gaze away to Sammy who looked utterly-heartbroken. His eyes catch mine, I give him a small smile which he struggles to return.

Maybe for Christmas, I'll help to heal Sammy's heartache.

'So, princess. Are you happy with who you got?'

I nod as I tear myself away from the mousy haired boy in-front of me, 'Y-Yeah, I am actually. What about you?'

Lucas grins at me, 'I'm extremely happy.'

I raise an eyebrow, 'Why does that make me nervous?'

'Love, do I make you nervous?'

Extremely.

I snort, 'You wish, you had the ability to make me nervous.'

He leans closer but only slightly, a safe distance still remaining between us, 'I keep telling you, it isn't healthy to keep lying to yourself.'

My breath hitches as I feel myself becoming intoxicated with his eyes again, 'I-I'm not lying.'

'I think we both know that you are.'

'Can you guys stop eye-fucking, I'm trying to eat my sandwich?' Toby pipes up as he waves his food in the air.

I narrow my eyes at him, 'We weren't eye fucking!'

'We totally were.' Lucas murmurs teasingly from besides me.

'No, we weren't!'

Toby rolls his eyes, 'Whatever the fuck it was, it was nauseating.'

Scarlett shrugs, 'I think it's cute.'

I choke on my own spit, 'You think that me and Lucas are cute?'

'Is it not Lucas and I?'

I roll my eyes, 'Does it really matter?'

Sammy nods, 'Grammar is really important.'

Toby shakes his head, 'I don't think I've ever needed to use grammar.'

Lucas laughs quietly to himself, 'This conversation is so stupid.'

My eyes widen, 'So, you are okay with your sister calling us cute?'

He shovels fries into his mouth, 'She calls us that all the time. She even created a couple name for us.'

I send daggers at the pink haired girl in-front of me, 'Y-You've made a couple name for us?!'

She squeaks, 'Y-Yes.'

'Why?'

The pink haired girl gives me a sheepish grin, 'I just really like you guys together.'

'There is a no, us together.'

Lucas nods, 'Agreed. We'd be disgusting together.'

I frown slightly as I feel my stomach drop at his words. What the fuck is going on with me? Why would I care if Lucas would think that about us?

Toby shrugs, 'I don't know, I was kind of digging it.'

'So, was I.'

The dark-haired boy shakes his head in shame, 'I thought you guys, where my friends.'

'We are, that's why we dig it!'

I slam my hands down on the table, 'There is nothing to dig!'

The boy next to me laughs loudly, I turn to him with a harsh glare, as if to ask why he is laughing.

He holds his hands up, 'I just find it really funny, when you are angry.''

'Well, you won't find it funny when I punch your face.'

'I probably will, I've seen your punches, they are weak as shit.'

I give him a teasing smile, 'Well, aren't you, my teacher? So, if my punches are weak, that's kind of on you.'

He rolls his eyes, 'We've had two sessions together, I'm not a miracle worker!'

'Autie!' Scarlett squeaks, her cheeks turn red, 'I-I need to talk to you about something.'

I raise my eyebrow, 'Sure, what's up?'

'In...private.'

I nod slowly as I stand up and gesture her to follow me out of the cafeteria, when we are away from prying ears, I finally stop. My eyebrows knit together as I look at her flustered presence.

'I-I've been hiding a secret from you, and I feel terrible, I literally feel like I'm going to explode!'

'Okay.' I say slowly.

She looks around before blurting out, 'I slept with someone!'

'Is this the first guy since Rick?'

She nods, 'Y-Yeah, it was actually a lot easier than I thought it would be.'

'Was the guy respectful and stuff?'

'He was amazing, he kept asking if I was okay and he put all his energy into making me feel good! Honestly, we even started laughing at some points, but not in a bad way. More in a happy way.'

I nod in approval, 'He sounds like a good guy.'

Scarlett winces, 'That's the issue, he is a good guy.'

'I'm not following.'

'You can't tell anyone, you promise?'

I roll my eyes as she holds out her pinky finger, but I wrap mine around it anyway, 'I promise.'

'It's Toby!'

My eyes widen in shock before I start laughing, 'S-Sorry, I thought you said Toby.'

'I-I did.'

Holy fuck.

All I can think about is how distraught Sammy is going to be if he ever finds out.
