Ever since the photographs leaked around school, luckily the damage was somewhat minimal thanks to Toby destroying most of the evidence, I've consistently pestered Lucas into starting my boxing lessons.

I didn't want to feel afraid anymore.

I didn't want to feel weak.

I want to feel strong, I want to know that if someone came up to me, I'd at-least have a chance to fight them off.

I want to feel empowered.

But I also want to do this for women everywhere, I want to be able to protect other women, If I ever saw them in danger.

I tug on my black long sleeved gym top, as I tip-toe into the boxing gym, my heart is racing out of my chest when I see numerous large and tall men darted across the room. My hands trembles slightly, when I notice one of them looking at me.

I must look so out of place.

'Love!' A voice calls out.

I turn to the source of the voice, my breath hitches when I see that a shirtless, slightly sweaty Lucas Wilson is walking towards me.

Holy fuck.

Is he fucking photo-shopped of something?

How is that body even possible?

If I'm not careful, I'm going to begin swooning and I refuse to let happen, I can't feed into his already huge ego.

'H-Hey!' I cry out, my voice strange and high-pitched.

Fuck, well done Autumn.

You don't look like a total idiot, at all.

He laughs slightly as he pulls off his boxing gloves, 'You ready for our first session?'

'The real question is, are you?'

He looks down at me with a warm expression, 'I'm more than ready, princess.'

My stomach churns unexpectedly, 'G-Great!'

'Come on, I thought you'd be more comfortable, if you didn't have anyone staring at you. So, there's a room in the back, we can use.'

I nod mutely before following him into the room, I wrinkle my nose at the poor choice of paint on the walls, they were an obnoxiously coloured bright green. There was a numerous punching bags dangling from the ceiling, and a box of gloves next to the door.

'You really need to speak to someone about their interior design choices.'

Lucas snorts, 'I'll mention it, next time the owner is in.'

'Please do.'

He claps his hands together, 'Have you brought wraps?'

I tilt my head, 'Like tortilla wraps?'

He bursts out laughing, his eyes meeting his laugher, 'How the fuck do you have a 4.0 GPA, princess? I meant hand wraps.'

My cheeks burn, 'I-I knew that, I was just joking.'

'Course, you were.'

'I was!'

He rolls his eyes, 'Luckily for you, I figured you wouldn't have any. So, I brought you some.'

'O-Oh thanks!'

Lucas nods before going towards, what I presume is his backpack which is discarded across the room, when he returns to be he's holding a pink roll of fabric.

A teasing grin works its way onto my face, 'Did you buy me pink ones specifically?'

'Well, they aren't for me!'

'Luke, I think you are secretly going soft on me!'

His hazel eyes roll, 'There is no way in hell, that is happening princess.'

I gingerly take the wraps of him, 'So, what do I do?'

He rubs the back of his neck, 'Usually, I'd just put them on for you, but I know you don't like being touched. So, you can just follow my demonstration.'

I nod as I watch him as he slowly tries to teach me, how to place them on my hand correctly. My eyebrows furrow together in confusion, but I attempt to do, whatever the hell, he is doing.

'Yeah, you're doing it wrong.'

I inhale a sharp breath, 'C-Can you just wrap them for me?'

'A-Are you sure?'

'Yeah.'

My entire body freezes as his large hand gently overs over mine, my stomach flutters at the contact, I don't even notice that he's finished until he takes a step-back.

'Thanks, sunshine!'

He gives me a look, 'Sunshine?'

I shrug as I pull a face, 'Yeah, I don't know why, I just did that.'

Lucas bursts out laughing before shaking his head, 'Okay, before we put any gloves on. I'm going to show you some basic forms, just so you can get the gist of it.'

I nod eagerly, 'Sounds, good.'

I watch in awe as he shows me various stances and techniques, I was honestly finding it difficult to concentrate, he just looked so in his element, so free and happy. It was almost addicting to watch.

'Princess, are you paying attention?'

I wince, 'Do you want the truth or a lie?'

He rolls his eyes, 'The truth.'

'Then no, I wasn't at all.'

'Boxing is all about paying attention, one second of being distracted, you've fucked it.'

'Seriously, one second?'

'Deadly, serious. I was in a match, a year ago. This girl I really liked was there I saw her in the crowd talking to some guy. And boom, I was knocked onto my ass.'

'Shit, sorry.'

'Don't be, she wasn't right for me anyway.'

I step forward with intrigue, 'How come?'

The dark-haired boy looks at me unimpressed, 'Are we here to gossip or to learn how to box?'

'Maybe, a little of both.'

'Why are you always so interested in my life?'

I shrug, 'I keep telling you, I'm just a very nosy person.'

'You aren't going to drop this until I tell you, are you?'

I flash him a bright smile, 'See you finally get me!'

He rolls his eyes, 'I-I, I don't know. She didn't really challenge me, she just agreed with everything I said. I like a girl who has an opinion, you know?'

I nod, 'I get that.'

'I guess, I just want someone I can, have opinionated conversations with.'

'I hope you find that.' I murmur quietly.

Lucas coughs awkwardly, 'Shall, we continue with our session?'

'Yeah, go for it.'

'I also want you to know, we will be doing various circuits throughout our training.'

My face falls, 'What kind of circuits?'

'Cardio and strength-based ones, you know a lot of boxing is mainly cardio. You need to be quick on your feet.'

I groan loudly, 'I'm literally going to die, you know that don't you?'

'You used to be cheer-captain, surely you'd have to work out for that?'

'Yes.' I hiss, 'But that doesn't mean that I enjoyed it!'

'Stop being lazy!'

I gaps dramatically, 'I am not being lazy!'

'Then, why are you complaining?'

I open my mouth before closing it again, Lucas notices this which causes a large smile to tug on the corner of his lips.

'Hey, look! I finally shut you up!'

'Just for that, I'm going to continue talking, the entire session.'

'You do realise, I'm doing this for free?'

I frown, 'W-What? No, you aren't! I've got cash with me.'

He shakes his head, 'I'd rather do this for free and know that you can protect yourself.'

'Just let me pay!'

'No, I want to help you, to help you. Not because you are paying me.'

I narrow my eyes, 'Could you just let me pay?'

'Nope.'

I throw my hands in the air, 'You are so fucking annoying!'

'Likewise, love.'

'I hope you know; I'm just going to sneak it into your bag.'

'And I hope you know that I'll throw it in the trash if I do that.'

I give him a look, 'We both know, you won't do that.'

'Fine, I won't do that! But still.'

'But nothing, Luke. Let me pay for this, please.'

'Alright, whatever.'

I give him a teasing smile, 'You are just so grumpy.'

A loud cough interrupts our conversation, I turn my head to see a middle-aged bald man leaning against the door frame.

'Wilson, I thought you booked out this room for a training session, not for a fucking session.'

I tense at the choice of his words, my nose wrinkles as I notice his gaze eying me up with hunger apparent in his eyes.

'It is a training session.' Lucas states harshly, 'You don't own the building, Carl. So, whatever I do in this room is none of your fucking business.'

'Is she a friend of yours?'

I scoff as I cross my arms against my chest, 'She has a name, I am in the room, don't act as if I'm not.'

I wouldn't be this confident, if I didn't have Lucas stood next to me, if I was on my own, I would have cowered away and hid.

'Oh, she's feisty, isn't she?'

Lucas stands tall next to me, 'Didn't you not hear her? She's asked for you to act as if she's in the room, so fucking act like it.'

'Sorry babe.' Carl mutters as he steps into the room, 'Don't worry, I'll start acting like you are in the room.'

I take a step behind Lucas' frame, as Carl continues to advance closer towards us.

'Don't call her babe.' The dark-haired boy in-front of me says with a clenched jaw, 'Either ask for her name or say nothing at all.'

'Can I have your name?'

'No, you can't.'

The bald man laughs darkly, 'It's okay, you aren't that hot anyway. I like a little more curves.'

I narrow my eyes as anger bubbles in my stomach, 'I'm sorry, are you really standing here and judging my appearance?'

'Yeah, I am. What are you going to do about it?'

I ball my fist, 'I'll show you, what I'm going to do about it!'

'Try it, sweetheart. I'll break you.'

Lucas takes a step forward towering over the much smaller man, 'You touch her, and you'll wish you had never been born. You got that?'

'Whatever, I'm out of here. Neither of you are worth it.'

I bit my lip as Lucas turns on his heel once Carl leaves the room, a furious expression written all over his face.

'A-Are you mad at me?'

He shrugs, 'No, not really. I'm just worried, you'd do something like that when I'm not there, and you'll get hurt. Like princess, he's won a lot of fucking matches, if he wanted to hurt you, he could.'

'That's why I'm here, I want to be able to protect myself.'

He rubs a hand over his face, 'I know, I just don't fucking like the thought of someone punching you.'

I shake my head, 'That's not going to happen.'

'I know, I probably sound so fucking sexist and like a dick. And I'm sorry, it's just I've seen what people like him can do but honestly, I was proud that you stuck up for yourself.'
