Washington, D.C. Capital of the United States of America

The broken street lights flickered like a firefly living its last hours. They marched towards the White House quietly, but the abnormal silence around the city could not be trusted. The sun's solitude ended once gray clouds started forming, covering its rays in a warm embrace. Their footsteps murmured on the ground like drizzle, but Yoel still thought they made too much noise.

The White House's gate was already open, as if it was inviting them in. Their army suddenly stopped to stare at it, some of them held stony faces, some of them raged with a thrill of the kill, and some were too tired from the long journey that they took to come here.

"I am not sure our plan will work." Yoel said to The Tsar, "they left the gate open, that's a signal that they are far more prepared than what we may have expected."

"What do you suggest? To come up with a last minute plan while we stand in front of the house of our enemies?" The Tsar rolled his eyes.

"No matter how prepared they are, they will not dare to hurt us. The President is under my mercy, if anything happens to me or us he will die." Demetrius joined their conversation.

"He's right, it doesn't matter how prepared they are," Nerezza agreed with Demetrius, "their security cameras seem to still be functioning and for we all know, someone from the Anti-Automaton regime is watching us right now and preparing a trap for us. We need to move fast!"

"This is my army, not Yoel's. I will give the command to start the plan now." The Tsar turned to look at the massive army behind him, and he put his hand up in a peace sign.

Some of his soldiers entered the White House and moved swiftly through its dense garden, putting automatic bombs on every corner. They then ran back to where The Tsar and the rest of the Pro-Automaton group were, with hands covering their ears from the explosion that was about to happen. Few seconds after they mingled with the group, the bombs sang their last tick and exploded only around the White House walls, leaving the gates where they stood untouched.

They lingered there for awhile, waiting for the President's soldiers to come out but the silence still reigned and it worried Yoel. He knew something was fishy but he could not control The Tsar as he walked towards the main door. With their guns in their hands, they ambled as a cold wind whispered through the trees like a seer, predicting the tragedy that was about to happen. But before their feet could even kiss the great floor of the White House, a tank came from the side and drove into him.

Yoel's eyes widened in fear, "withdraw, now!" He commanded everyone.

He grabbed both Éloa and Nerezza's hands and dragged them as he ran as fast as he could. Tanks came from all directions, their laser main guns moved at the speed of light which made it harder for The Tsar's army to escape from the deadly shots.

"I need to shoot the laser pointer, that will stop them from targeting us!" Éloa said in a loud voice, hoping Yoel would hear her amidst the loud chaos.

"Are you crazy? You will have to be near their tanks to shoot it with precision!" Yoel's breathless voice yelled back.

"I would rather sacrifice myself now to give you a chance to fulfill your promise to me, than have us all die!"

"We will not die, I will fulfill my promise to you and you will be there to watch me write our dreams into reality!" He dragged them inside an empty restaurant few blocks away.

"The Tsar's people are out there getting killed for my kind to live on, I should do the same thing for them." She held his hands, "give me your gun, it has a better scope than mine."

"You are asking me to lead you to your death, I can't do that." He held her face in his hands, hot tears fell from his eyes like waves that crashed against the shores of his mouth. He could taste their salty flavor, which resembled the taste of a life without Éloa.

"Yoel, we do not have time to waste. Give her your gun and her siblings will help her shoot the laser pointer of the other tanks." Nerezza put her hand on his shoulder and gave him a firm squeeze.

"We do not even know where her siblings are!" He complained.

"I can control them." She sighed and used her computer watch to command her father's Automatons to shoot the laser pointers, "I cannot command Frigg, someone has rebooted her system few days ago, but I think four Automatons are enough to hold those tanks."

"Wait, you can control us?" Éloa got closer to her.

Yoel stared at Nerezza with disbelief.

"Not you, I do not have time to explain how I do it but all you need to know is that your other siblings will help you shoot the tanks." She grabbed Yoel's gun from his hand and handed it to Éloa, "go and revenge our Father."

Éloa stared at the gun in her hand, and she relived her Father's memories through it. She saw in its engravings the blood of her innocent engineer run through it like the streams of a holy river. She imagined the fear he might have felt as the regime held a gun to his head and fired. A fear no innocent man or conscious creature should experience, the heart is too weak for it.

Without a warning, she turned around and her lips kissed Yoel's mouth goodbye. In that quick moment, they whispered silent poems to him about how much she loved him. She broke the kiss, afraid that she will be too weak to leave if his lips also had a chance to whisper "I love you" back. She stole his right to say goodbye from him and ran towards the main street where the tanks were attacking everyone. But she did leave her dreams of a better future with him, although he struggled to find beauty in them at that moment. He shed so many tears that the sclera of his eyes broke like glass, and Nerezza held him tightly.

His cries choked her and she could not save him from his violent tears. She watched them write wounds on his cheeks as they rolled down, one after another like an army. His desperate hands tried to push her so that he can follow and stop Éloa, but his body was as strong as a droplet on an autumn leaf. It could only move by the force of a strong wind that did not come to blow his terrorizing thoughts away.

On the battlefield, Éloa and her other four siblings got on their knees while the Tsar's army scattered around them like mad bulls. She looked through the scope and shot once the tank's main gun turned to face her. The laser pointer shattered harder than her heart did as she walked away from Yoel. Pealing angst slowly faded as she started to revenge her Father.

"Shit!" The commander inside the tank cursed and turned on his mic, "Cloyd, the damn Automatons started shooting our laser pointers!"

"How many Automatons are there?" Cloyd asked.

"I see four so far, they are all aiming at our damn laser pointers, I cannot shoot them!"

"Relax, commander. Under your chair you will find a remote control, I need you to order the other commanders to press the red button." He could hear a smirk coiled up in Cloyd's voice like a snake.

"What does the button do, Cloyd?" He stared at the unlabeled remote control.

"I had a spy in the Pro-Automaton army place tiny bombs in those Automatons and the human traitors who are helping them. When you press the button they will explode, but do not worry the range of the explosion will not affect you. It will only destroy their bodies." Cloyd lied.

"You are indeed an intelligent man, Cloyd! I will order the others to press the button at the same time as me. We shall see you after this battle is won." The commander hang up on Cloyd.

"I am guile, not intelligent. But you will die a brave man, son." Cloyd murmured to himself.

Éloa continued to shoot at the tanks while aiming for their laser pointers, it surprised her that until now they did not shoot at her or her siblings. Nevertheless, she continued to shoot as many as possible.

The sky cried a storm and rain fell down like chastised angels from the heavens. Their fierce kiss quenched the thirst of evil but forgot to irrigate the good on that day. For when the commanders pressed the red button, the tanks exploded and the last thing Éloa saw was a wave of flames that swallowed her and everyone around her. The sparks of the fire stole the light from the few sun rays that hid behind the clouds, and the dancing shadows beneath the flames danced to a song of loss. The deadly fog felt the whimper of those who drew their last breath and could not continue their last prayer.

Even though he sat blocks away from the battlefield, he noticed the dying lights from the explosion that radiated from afar. Incessant pain was beating his heart as he pushed Nerezza away and walked out of the restaurant. She silently followed him, already knowing what has happened. Her computer watch suddenly disconnected from the three Automatons' system at the same time, indicating that they have been killed. The cries they heard in the distance did not deny who won that battle, and it made her sad.

Yoel hesitated to approach the scene, but he felt like as if the few flames that remained burning opened a path for him to walk and find what was left of his lover. He swallowed his sadness and slowly passed through the ugliness, shuddering as he saw people laying like slaughtered lambs on the ground. But when he found her immovable body that has already lost a leg and an arm, he fell on his knees and touched the cold tears that were dripping from her dead eyes.
