Ningyo is a mercenary, returning to his home town five years after his son was murdered by his once comrade and mentor, Morfran. The two worked for Andalaf Incorporated, a company that has a monopoly on a chemical called Sachi, a substance found inside of enormous dragon bones beneath the earth's crust. Sachi has many uses: it provides power, enhances armor and weapons, and it can be ingested orally or nasally to perform magic. It's also making the people of the Under-City sick from breathing in the poisonous gas it creates when mining it. Ningyo's first job back in Man'naka is blowing up one of the drill towers that mine the Sachi with an organization called the Sun-Seekers.…
