Harriet Ironspike is a tax collector, but not the exciting kind. Not one of the highly-skilled operators of the Special Assessments Office with their ultra-light chainmail and automatic crossbows. Harriet is only an initial assessor, a form-filler, who has to call in the SAO when things became complicated or tricky. Which means that the SAO always get all the credit for the most interesting audits she does.Harriet doesn’t mind that. She doesn’t mind her job. In fact, she actually quite likes it, even though working where she does is sometimes tricky. She is in the difficult in the northern province of Karmelt. Or Heroland, as everyone calls it.Karmelt is in the northern marches, and is full of heroes. And bandits. And dragons. And orcish raiding parties. Which the all heroes fight endlessly. And that fighting is all very well, and like all the residents of Heroland, Harriet is glad someone does it, but it does create certain complicated issues around their taxes. Like irregular incomes and capital gains and deductible expenses for dragon hordes.Any cash-based employment with haphazard accounting needs to be treated with a certain care by the tax authorities, and unfortunately, those tax authorities are Harriet.Only Harriet.For the whole province of Heroland.And it isn’t just heroes she has to deal with, either. The company wants Ellie to go and find the kid, and Ellie doesn't know if she can. Liv and Frankie are sharing a hotel room, which probably isn’t very smart when they used to be a couple. They were, years ago, and now Frankie’s current girlfriend Angela is a close friend of Liv’s. Natalie and Evie are very different people. They are very different in age, in income, and at different stages of their lives. Natalie is a partner in a law firm, and Evie is a law student. They meet at a work function of Natalie’s, where Evie is a waitress, and talk. Natalie is lonely, and attracted to Evie, and on impulse she offers Evie money for sex. Evie wonders whether to accept, or be offended, or quite what she should do. In the end, the simplest thing seems to be to say yes, because she quite likes Natalie as well.So. Ta-dah. Romance.Or it’s trying to be romance, like the gritty end of romance. So HEA or HFN in the end, promise, if anyone cares, but with some worky and friendsy and chick-lit stuff along the way. And smut, obviously. But maybe slower getting to it this time, so as to keep the romancey going.Anyways, that’s what this is, just to say all that so people know. Norah and Kate are in love, and this is their lives. Everything happens in a series of short scenes. These scenes usually involve sex, and there is a continuing story here which should eventually become clear. The scenes don't neccessarily happen in chrononogical order, and that this doesn't matter is the whole point...Yep, I'm getting arty. Sorry. .So, um, to start over sounding like me... so this is a weird little thing and I’m not sure what it is. It's kind of smut and it is girlxgirl. To say that. But, maybe it's about sex as much as being smut. If that makes sense. Like what sex makes people do and feel, rather than just what they do. And it's also very much about love, and being in love, and things like that. So basically, way more how they feel and what they think that sticky physical stuff. So really, this is a couple, doing stuff with each other, in little snapshot moments. Maybe not be in the right time order.. Emma receives an intensely personal email from a stranger by mistake, a woman she doesn’t know, and starts emailing back. What begins as nothing more than a sympathetic conversation suddenly turns to sex, and Emma and the stranger start talking, and flirting, and writing each other dirty emails, and Emma wonders how far she wants this to go.-----------------Um, hi, and so again, yes, I’m talking in here. Sorry.So this is a bit of an idea, kind of a mix of normal story, and the emails two people send each other. It’s got a bit more organized now, so I can explain properly. I’m not quite sure where it’s going, but basically a mix of Emma and Alyssa’s sort-of affair, and Emma writing emails to Alyssa about how she feels.So the chapters that say “Emma” or “Emailing” are the email ones. Um, obviously.Emma also writes dirty stories to Alyssa, about how she imagines they might meet, and what they do. This seems to be turning into a thing too. So at the moment, those are chapters 8, 9, 11, 14 , 15, 16, 20, and 21. These are basically short stories on their own, so if you want to just look at those without all the rest, you can.So this because I wanted to do some first-person, but not completely, and also not just them sending each other their fantasies, because that seems impersonal. So sending that, but also other stuff too, so you see what else is going on for them, other than what they actually say to each other.And kind of assume there’s lots of smiley and xxxs and stuff all through the emails, because, yeah. But I decided it was easier to read this way, like just as words in a conversation, as if they’re talking with their voices. That’s also why it’s “she wrote” rather than trying to describe each email turning up one by one. So hopefully the emails don’t look too weirdly formal like this though. Um, :), !, and xxx, there you go.And thank you for looking. Just, so much! I’m so glad people want to! Yay!…

Helena is out shopping, and bored, and not finding anything she wants. Then she realizes a helpful sales assistant might actually be more than just helpful, and may in fact be flirting with her. Helena isn’t sure what to make of that. The sales assistant seems fun, and confident, and actually interested in Helena, and the whole situation is quite intriguing except that the sales assistant won’t actually admit what she’s doing.
