After Lance was put into foster care, he never saw the Holt family again, that was, until Pidge joined the Galaxy Garrison. Lance had his suspicions that Pidge was actually Katie, but never said anything. Pidge, too, recognized Lance, but since it had been years since they last saw each other, she didn't want to say anything. Then they get shot into outer space together and Pidge tells them she's actually a girl. The half siblings then reunite and want to spend all of their time together. But this arouses suspicion among the others.
