bucky hummed, feeling a slight but soft pressure on his lips. when he gained consciousness, a smile made its way on his lips.

❝bucky...❞ your voice was quiet and inviting. he remained quiet. ❝bucky, wake up...❞

when he finally opened his eyes, ever-so-slowly, he met with yours. you smiled down at him. ❝happy birthday.❞

he gave a soft grunt before rolling onto his stomach in your guys' shared bed. ❝is it that time already? damn.❞

you chuckled, kissing his shoulder blades, trailing them down to the scars along his left arm. he smiled, pressing his face into the pillow. he liked when you showed affection, especially to his left limb.

you laid on your side, looking down at him. he moved his head, staring up with you with one eye as the rest of his face was smushed into the pillow.

the both of you stayed like that for a long moment, just looking at one another longingly. after a pause, he stretched up and pressed a tender kiss to your lips.

you smiled into it, touching his cheek. bucky broke the kiss, keeping his lips hovering yours. ❝thank you, doll.❞ he whispered. ❝now, you got any presents for me?❞

you smile went wide as you snaked an arm around his shoulders. pushing him down onto his back, you straddled his hips. ❝baby, this is the first of many...❞
