*Hands over a bag of doritos*

For all the readers who love action ;)

Diana's P.O.V.

"Ugh did literally no one bring mosquito repellent?" Lexi groaned, waving her arms around.

I rolled my eyes. "No. Sorry, I didn't realise that we were going on a picnic."

"Okay, this is it." Miles said, making us stop and look ahead at a big and old warehouse, looking like any normal warehouse, at some distance.

"Questionable taste, but okay." Jacob sighed, turning to look at the other gang members. "Take positions."

There were barely any sounds of footsteps or rustling in the bushes as the people moved around to take their positions. We had covered almost the whole entrance of the warehouse.

We parked our cars at a safe distance and got here on foot. It was dark outside and the only thing visible from here was the warehouse and a small light hanging outside the entrance.

Jacob took a few steps forward, carefully looking at the ground. "It should be... somewhere... right here!" He said, pointing at the smudged, barely visible line on the ground.

We looked around to notice that the wires around the place were uneven, not covering the whole circle.

"Don't be fooled by the looks of it, these wires produce an invisible electric shield and will definitely set off an alarm along with electrocuting you." Jacob said, looking at me.

How can he always read my mind?

"Why are you going in there alone, again?" Alexis sighed, looking at Miles.

Miles didn't look back as she replied. "Because Jacob needs more people outside as half of the gang isn't here yet. I can take care of the few I'll meet inside."

"But how do you kn-"

Miles cut her off, placing a hand on her shoulder. "Lex, I'll be fine."

Alexis sighed and I decided to keep my mouth shut.

"What about you? Aren't you like, the leader? Shouldn't you be in your office barking orders at everyone?" Alexis asked, tightening her gear.

Jacob let out a throaty chuckle. "If it was any other smaller mission, I probably would've done that but it isn't. We're taking down my lovely brother, I can't miss this."

I rolled my eyes.

"I saw that." He said, now beside me, hiding behind the same tree as me.

"I don't care." I deadpanned.

Miles signalled for us to be quiet and touched her transmitter. "How much longer, Jason? We barely have any time left."

The voice from the other end was muffled, but we could hear it.

"I'm working on it, woman! Calm the fuck down." The rude boy from Miles' school, who is surprisingly a hacker, said.

Miles sighed. "It's literally a matter of life and death."

There was no response for a while before a muffled came came.

"If I knew you were involved in such dangerous shit I wouldn't have picked a fight with you."

I smirked, shaking my head.

"It's done. We're in."

Miles' eyes widened before she looked back at us.

Jacob nodded at her and she nodded back.

"Thanks J. You know what to do now, right?" She heard the response before she nodded.

"Alright, my turn." She said, throwing a wink over her shoulder at us, before she stood up to a safe level, carefully stepping over the boundary.

Jacob and I released a breath of relief that we didn't realise we were holding, when she stepped in without getting electrocuted.

We turned to look at each other before he smirked and spoke. "Why do I feel like we somehow adopted a 17 year old?"

I rolled my eyes at him before stepping back and tightening my gear.

I added a few knives on my ankle, when Jacob looked at me with a frown.

I grabbed the extra pair of night vision goggles that I packed in my duffle bag, making Jacob's eyes widen.

"No." He said, grabbing my hand.

"It's my mission too."

"I know bu-"

I felt everyone's eyes on us as I'm probably the first person to successfully make Jacob Knight shut up.

Or it could have something to do with the fact that my lips were on his.

The kiss was soft and slow as we stood there, savouring the feeling.

I slowly pulled away before patting his cheek. "Don't worry, boss. I'll be fine."

I pecked his lips once again, before pulling away completely and turning away, while he sat there in shock.

*****

Ryder's P.O.V.

Everytime I saw a movie or read a book where one of the characters get kidnapped, I couldn't help but wonder, where the kidnappers let the hostage relieve themselves if they needed to take a piss and stuff.

I never said I was normal.

So, out of curiousity, I told the guys who were keeping a watch on me that I had to pee, right after I gained consciousness.

To my surprise, they untied my hands and led me to a toilet, attached to the room I was tied up in.

Any chances of me finding an escape went down the drain when I walked in and saw no windows, whatsoever. Also, there was always a guy around me, with a gun pointing at me.

Losing so much blood and having no food in my system, made me weak and I spent most of the time sleeping.

They tried to feed me weird things that looked like a sandwich but I couldn't risk it and avoided consuming anything that they brought me.

My head felt numb and the bleeding had been stopped with a gauze because there wouldn't be a point in kidnapping me if I died without serving my purpose.

I was still hoping that Miles doesn't come here and fall into his trap. I've realised how dangerous and sadistic they are in merely two days.

I slowly woke up to angry footsteps.

Don't ask me how I can differentiate between footsteps.

I think it was night time again when a raging Alex stomped down the stairs.

"Where the fuck is she?" He yelled, knocking a table on his way to me.

He grabbed my face, glaring at me. "What a waste of time."

I scoffed, and his jaw ticked. I could see a very prominent nerve on his forehead on the verge of bursting.

If my feet weren't tied to the legs of the chair I would have at least kicked him in the shin.

He let go on my chin and swung to land a punch on my jaw.

I tasted metal and spit the blood out of my mouth, before breaking into a coughing fit.

That was one hell of a punch.

"It's funny huh? The fact that she doesn't give a fuck if you live or die." He said, walking over to a table before he picked up a gun. "Guess you aren't that important to her, after all."

He said, before he aimed at me while I sat there panting, still recovering from the blow.

In that moment, every second that I've spent with Miles, flashed before my eyes.

Her laugh, her eyes, her smile, her hair, her lips. Her.

I didn't think she'd be the only thought in my last moments but that just made me realise how madly I'm in love with her.

The guy standing behind Alex looked nervous but I was surprisingly calm. I guess I was just glad that it was me at the recieving end of a bullet instead of Miles.

I just wished I could tell her that I love her, one last time.

I almost shut my eyes, accepting my fate when I saw a flash of silver and I squinted to see more clearly.

But the next second happened to fast that I almost missed it.

In a flash, the gun in Alex's hand was on the ground and he winced, holding his now bloody hand.

A knife clanked beside me and it took me less than a second to recognise it.

My eyes widened and I looked ahead to see Miles landing on her feet from one of the vents, that I didn't notice until now.

She stood up, and glanced at me, frowning at my head and other wounds.

"Look who's finally here." Alex said, with a cynical smile as he wrapped a cloth around his hand.

"Miles, no." I croaked out, blood dripping from my mouth.

She sighed, glancing at me and passed me a small smile. "I'm sorry I'm late. I was busy deciding which knife I should slit his throat with."

My eyes widened, when I didn't see any humor in her eyes.

I heard a booming laughter coming from Alex. "Again with the wrong decisions."

Miles tightened her grip on her knives as Alex leaned on a table. "First, you betray me by joining my brother, then you sneak into my warehouse, that too, without the baby."

"Are you actually dumb enough to think that I'd hand over an innocent baby to a monster like you?" Miles scoffed, making Alex's jaw clench.

"I guess you don't care that much about your boyfriend, right here." Alex said, smirking.

"Ehh wrong answer." Miles said, pretending to be a buzzer.

"Even if you do, there's no way you or this boy are getting out of here alive. I have given you enough chances. It's time you pay with your life." Alex said, standing up straight.

Miles looked around the room at the three other guys, except Alex and smirked. "This is gonna be easy."

"This is where you underestimated me." Alex smirked, before clapping twice.

Suddenly a door opened out of nowhere and several guys dressed in black stepped out, surrounding the room.

There were easily about 30 of them and my eyes almost popped out of their socket, when I saw them holding different combat weapons.

Miles did a 360 and scanned the room. Her expression still looked confident but I could see the hidden surprise and dilemma in them.

She didn't expect this, either.

"You made a mistake walking into this alone, you bitch." A voice said, making Miles turn to face a very familiar man.

He was the guy whom Miles shot outside the arena. His name was Brad or Brody, I think.

This is bad.

"You dug your way back in, I see." Miles muttered, still eyeing the group surrounding her.

I saw her gulp before she glanced at me.

She took a slow step towards me and the crowd tensed up.

Suddenly one guy advanced towards her with a metal rod but thankfully Miles dodged and snatched the rod out of his grip. She had placed the knives back into the straps somehow, without anyone noticing.

She's really something.

She dodged another guy, kicking him in the face and landing right in front of me.

My eyes, that were barely open met hers and I saw relief in hers. She quickly grabbed the chair from the back and dragged it to the corner of the room, where there were no people.

She kicked another guy in the nuts who was advancing from the side and landed a blow on his head with the metal rod.

She proceeded to protect me, while swinging the rod at the guys and trying to keep tham at a distance from me.

I looked at her in disbelief. "What are you doing?"

"I'm giving you a lapdance." She deadpanned. "Are you blind?"

I rolled my eyes. "Miles, just run away, while you can. Just let me b-"

"Never." She said, swinging at another guy, making him land of the floor with an 'oof'.

I looked at her, astonished while she continued to fight guys off.

I was pulled out of my trance when I saw two guys attacking her at the same time without giving her a break.

She didn't react to any punch that anyone landed on her and kept fighting. Punching and kicking, as many guys as she can reach.

She dodged quickly with inhuman speed but one of them managed to swing an iron rod in her stomach making her double over and spit out blood.

"No!" I yelled, thrashing around in the chair but sadly I was still tied to it.

The other guys took advantage of her lost footing, and knee'd her in the face.

Miles landed on the floor with blood gushing out of her nose and mouth.

I hadn't realised until now about how long Miles had been fighting.

About ten guys were on the floor already, wincing in pain but since Miles was fighting alone she was exhausted too.

Only now did I notice that she had taken some really hard blows herself.

There was blood dripping out of her nose, she had a cut over her eyebrow and her top was cut in the abdomen area and I looked closely to see that her skin was sliced open too.

My eyes widened when I noticed two guys holding her hands behind her back as she struggled in their grip.

I thrashed around in my chair. "No! You fucking cowards. Do you have any fucking pride?! You're all fighting in a group against one girl!" I spit out.

Alex chuckled. "That was really sweet, but I didn't ask her to betray me, did I?"

Alex walked closer to Miles, and I tensed up to see a gun in his hands.

"I guess it's tim-"

"Save that stupid speech." Miles said, rolling her eyes at him. Her voice was hoarse from the blow from the rod. "You can kill me, I don't care. But, just let him go."

Alex tipped his head to the side. "Now, why would I do that?"

Miles' jaw clenched. "Because he has nothing to do with all of this. He was dragged into this because of me."

My eyes widened as I heard her talk. A coat of moisture formed in my eyes.

"That's very brave of you to say, Miles." Alex said, pointing the gun at her forehead. "But I'll think about it."

No.

This can't be happening.

"No! Miles! No please." I cried out, while she simply looked at me with a small smile.

"Aww wrapping up without me?" A voice came, startling everyone.

Alex frowned but before he could look for the source of the voice, someone landed on him.

Yes, on him from a vent, just like Miles did.

Just this time Diana jumped on Alex, knocking him over as she kicked the gun away from his reach.

Alex looked up at her in shock. "Diana?"

"Hey, loser." She smirked, stepping on his palm, till the sound of his bones breaking filled the room.

Everyone except Miles and Diana winced at that.

While everyone's attention was on Diana, Miles took the opportunity to elbow the two guys holding her down in the crotch.

They fell on the ground instantly, crying out in pain.

"Great timing, but what are you doing here?" Miles asked, standing with her back against Diana's, eyeing the guys still surrounding them.

"A simple thank you would suffice." Diana rolled her eyes. "I knew he would use one of these dirty tricks."

Alex let out another painful groan as Diana put a little more pressure on his hand.

"You really know how to hold a grudge, don't you?" Miles said eyeing Alex with a smirk.

"You know it." Diana smirked, taking her stance.

That's when the guys swung at them again but this time the whole group was somehow overpowered by the two girls.

I was proud to watch her kick the guys' ass but I was also scared and worried as she winced every time she took a blow.

No matter how much harder she had to fight, she didn't let anyone near me.

I broke out of my trance, wiggling my hands around to somehow loosen the ropes from around my wrists as reaching for my feet was just impossible.

This time I could actually feel them slipping as my hands could move slightly. I guess when Miles dragged me all the way to the side of the room, the ropes somehow got loose.

I looked up to see Miles holding a guy in a death grip cutting his oxygen supply while he slowly turned purple.

She let go of him just before he lost consciousness leaving him to gasp for air.

She looked around to see most of the guys on the ground and Diana fighting the few left.

"Untie him." Diana said landing a kick in a guy's stomach.

Miles hesitated for a second before nodding and running towards me.

At this point, the roped around my wrists was loose and almost off.

"My feet. I can't reach my feet." I said, as soon as Miles reached me.

She nodded before starting to untie the ropes, when a loud voice caught out attention.

"I gave you shelter when you were fucking homeless and this is how you repay me?" Alex yelled, who was now by a table, cradling his broken hand.

Diana smirked, jerking a guy's neck to the side knocking him out.

"You did a lot more than just that." She said, looking around.

Most of the guys were unconscious and there was blood spilled everywhere.

Alex mock laughed. "You took my son away from me. I had to fucking do it!"

Diana's jaw clenched. "He's not your son. He's mine and I will not raise him in a place that's full of murderers."

Miles tensed up and looked up at me. "All done. Can you stand on your own?"

I nodded, but as soon as I made a move to get up, a wave of dizziness hit me and I started swaying.

Miles caught me just in time and helped me sit on the chair again.

The exhaustion and pain from the last two days, hit me all at once while Miles looked at me, worried.

"He will grow up to be one, himself!" Alex exclaimed. "He's my blood. He will take over the family business after me."

Diana scoffed. "Over my fucking dead body."

"So be it." Alex gritted out, raising a gun in his good hand and aiming at Diana.

Miles' eyes widened and she turned to Diana.

Diana simply smirked. "Go ahead. Pull the trigger."

Alex's jaw clenched and his hand shook. His red eyes were brimmed with angry tears as he looked around at some of his best fighters on the floor.

"That's right. You can't." Diana said, crossing her arms over her chest.

Alex scoffed as a tear slipped out of his eye.

And I almost felt bad for him.

Almost...

He suddenly tensed up and glanced at me before shifting his aim, directly at me.

He looked at me and Miles with so much hatred that I almost felt it pierce my skin.

With his gun aiming directly at me, his lips broke into a cynical smile. "I might not be able to shoot you, but I sure as hell can shoot him."

Miles' eyes widened and then in a flash, she turned towards me.

The next moment happened too fast for me to register.

I heard the sound of a gunshot being fired but instead of its impact, I felt a warm body envelope mine, completely.

No...
