I wake up freezing my ass off. I quickly grab my phone to check the weather

36 degrees Fahrenheit.

Texas weather is so bipolar I swear, yesterday it was 59.

I get up and start to get ready. I swear the colder it is the slower I move.

Moving in slow motion, I put on a long sleeve shirt and a hoodie with a pair of leggings and my high tops. I leave my hair down hoping to create some warmth and make my way down stairs heading into Bradys truck.

He's got the heat up full blast thank god.

We get to school and by my lockers Delilah is standing there.

Her birthday weekend was so much fun. That first night we spent the time painting our nails and talking about all kinds of stuff.

The next day we went and tanned out by the pool, granted it was cold as fuck but we didnt mind. Eventually when my lips did turn blue though we went inside and got into the hot tub.

Then the last day, Sunday we got a facial. I had never gotten one before so I was super excited. We talked more that day too. It felt so good to talk to her again. We talked how we used to pre-Matt.

Eventually however we had to head home since it was late I offered to let her spend the night but she insisted she had to see Caleb.

When I got home Brady and Noah were there waiting to tell me all about their time with Matt. How turns out as Noah put it 'has less personality than an orange.' I'm not quite sure what that means.

According to them he didn't want to do anything. Then they said it got a little weird when he realized Delilah and I left town through snap. Noah said he looked angry, because he wasn't 'aware of this plan'. I just brushed it off. He really needs to chill.

Now I see her standing next to my locker Matt-less thank the gods.

"Hey Dee." she smiles up at me but it doesn't reach her eyes, "You ok?" I ask.

She fiddles with her bracelet, "Yeah Matt was just upset he wasn't invited."

I roll my eyes, "Did you tell him it was just a girls weekend?"

She nods her head, "Mhm, but he said it wasn't an excuse that if I wanted to go before I should've told him."

I clench my fists. Seriously if I see him I might punch him in the face.

"Well Matt needs to realize you have a life outside of him." I say but she just shakes her head.

"I know it's just I didnt tell him, I should've." I internally groan.

"You didnt have to tell him, and maybe if he wasn't crowding you 24/7 I could've told you in front of him and not made it a surprise."

She narrows her eyes, "So you deliberately made Noah and Brady ask him to hang out?"

I shrug my shoulders, "Well yeah."

She scoffs and walks away.

What did I do?

The rest of the day goes by slowly. I can't help but think about what happened between Delilah and I this morning.

Did I over step?

Probably I never know when to stop pushing something. I just wanted to spend time with my best friend without her lacky tailing behind us. Is that so wrong?

Ok so maybe I approached it the wrong way with having Noah and Brady distract him. That was just the only thing I could think of.

Especially after talking to Caleb the day before. He said if Matt isn't at their house Delilah is over at his.

"You alright pumpkin?" I look up from my mashed potatoes to see my dads, Noah and Brady's eyes trained on me. I must have gotten lost in my own thoughts.

I nod my head, "Yeah just stuff with Delilah."

"What is it? I don't see her around as much." my dad says and I sigh putting down my fork.

I look between the three of them. They're all guys maybe they can help me understand Matt.

"When you're dating someone is it normal to be attached to them all the time. I mean every night and day all the time?" I ask.

Brady clears his throat, "Is this about Derrick?" my eyes widen and I shake my head.

"No it's about a friend of mine."

"Delilah?" Dad asks and I don't say anything.

I see realization cross Noah and Bradys features. They probably get why I needed them to distract Matt.

"Well I guess it depends on the couple. All the time seems a little extensive. Especially if they are only seeing that one person and not others like friends or family." Brady says and Noah nods in agreement.

"Yeah Bails if its as much as you make it seem thats not really healthy." I nod taking in their words.

I sit up straighter, "I talked to Caleb about it. Delilahs brother, and he said Matt is always over and he isn't Delilah is at Matts."

"I thought you were friends with Matt?" my dad asks. I forget not everyone is in the loop.

I shake my head, "No, not after-" I cut my self off. This isn't my business to share, "nevermind."

My dad looks skeptical at my slip up but doesn't mention it.

That night while I lay in bed I think about what they said. How it isn't healthy if its all the time. I just don't know how to approach her about it. If I do thats definitely overstepping. I just want my best friend back.

I want to help her, especially if she's in a toxic relationship.

In the middle of the night I feel someone shaking me awake.

"Bails wake up." I groan slowly opening my eyes. Noah is leaning over me staring right at me.

"What do you want?"

He grabs my hand pulling me up, "Come out, I want to show you something."

I sit up and he hands me his hoodie to put on. He leads me down the stairs and opens the back door when I step out my jaw drops. A wide smile taking over my face.

"Noah it's snowing." Snow covers the grass and trees. I turn to look at the roof of the house. I love snow. It's just one of those things in life that brings me this ooey gooey feeling my chest. Like petting dogs and eating chocolate chip cookies.

I walk further out into the back yard. I begin taking in the scenery around me when all of a sudden I feel something cold hit my head.

Turning around I see Noah hunched over laughing. That bitch threw a snow ball at me. I narrow my eyes at him two can play at this game.

Bending down I scoop up some snow and mash it into a ball. Because he's basically on the ground laughing he does see as I throw the snowball at him. Hitting him directly on the top of his head.

I begin laughing as he peers at me through his hair.

"Oh you are so going to get it." I shreak as he begins to chase me around the back yard.

Eventually he catches me tackling me to the ground. Freaking football player.

At this point we are both laughing. I look up at him to see his nose and cheeks are all pink. Theres snow all in his hair dripping into my face.

He sweeps some of my hair out of my face. That's when I realize we aren't laughing anymore.

"You're hair is dripping on me." I say wiping my face.

He laughs rolling off of me, we stay like that staring at the sky. Snow falling around us.

"Snow angels?" he turns his head to look at me.

I turn my head and look at him a smile on my face, "Snow angels."
