The man in the shadows had finally come out of his dark, foreboding palace to watch the sun rise. He looked at it with indifference. After all, what did it matter? The sun rises and sets every single day without hesitation. It lacked flavor, he thought to himself, curling his lip in disdain. Another example of theTyranny of Fate. All of a sudden the shadow man jerked his head upwards and saw a black dot zooming towards him. That black dot soon came into view for the man to be able to distinguish who it was as it landed on a tree near him.

"Ah, Subala." He crooned at the pigeon. "Back so soon?" The bird gave an indignant huff and dropped an object into the Sleeper's palm. It was a clay doll. He smiled sinisterly at it and turned towards three asuras that were approaching him. He threw it at them and one of them caught it.

"What do you see?" Asked the man. The asuras sniffed it.

"Frosted snow, snow that could have only come from the Himalayas." One answered.

"Water that could only come from the Ganges." Another said.

"It reeks of the border of Northern India." The last added.

"This is from a small village in a place called Uttar Pradesh, and it is where the Imperial Army is waiting for us." Said the shadowed man.

"We can avoid them easily." Said the first.

"No. It is the quickest way to get to Rajasthan, where the King is." Said the man. "Besides, a little girl will be missing her doll." The asuras nodded hesitantly. "What is it?" He asked.

"Well Suyodhana-" The last started, but was immediately cut off.

"Don't call me that. It's the Sleeper now." He said coldly. The asuras nodded meekly.

"Right, uh, Sir, um, you will free all of our kind once you become Emperor, right?" The asura asked, talking about how all asuras were enslaved by humans.

"Yes, yes." The Sleeper said nonchalantly. "Now go and prepare the others." The asuras didn't look convinced, but bowed their heads nonetheless. "Oh, and call Lady M and Takshaka as well, We need our best sorceress and lieutenant. The asuras nodded and walked off. The Sleeper ran a hand through his hair and grit his teeth.

He was done playing by the rules.
