The king turned around as he heard the door to his chambers open. His beautiful wife comes in radiating a smile that he has not seen grace her face for some time. She walks graciously to him as she takes his hands in her own before pressing a soft kiss to his cheek. She releases his hands walking over to their bed. The king's gaze following the cheerful queen. He softly chuckles walking over to the bed before taking off his robe.

"Do tell, what has my queen so happy?"

The queen has pure happiness pulsating off of her. She looks to her love who has a small smile of his own. She grins thinking about her son and how his actions spoke volumes in regards to the young maiden.

"Our son..."

The king thinks of how his son mind has been elsewhere lately. He has not been focusing on his duties as prince. His thoughts are brought back by a soft palm to his cheek. His love looking to his eyes with amusement.

"My dear, did you hear me?"

The king shakes his head regretful. His wife tilts his head up with her hand still holding his cheek. Her smile still intact.

"He has found his queen."

The king snaps his eyes to hers as his body tenses unsure he heard her correctly. She gently nods her head confirming his thoughts. He exhales slowly realizing the repercussions of this.

"My dear, we just invited the princess from Darion here. She is due to arrive in a weeks time."

The queen's face morphs from the happy glow to a look of concentration. Her face then relaxes looking to her husband. She lays back against the pillow and her husband follows suit.

"We have to let him choose but I am telling you, the princess's voyage will be in vein."

"And who has captured his heart?"

"She's a fair beauty named Artemis."

"Artemis? That is unique... What family is she with?"

The queen just shrugs as she plays with her husband's hand. The silence envelops them as the king relishes in her gentle touch.

"I am warning you my king, Do not interfere. I have a great feeling about her."

"How has she bewitched you so quickly my wife?"

"It's not me she has entranced..."

"Was she here this evening?"

"Of sorts.."

The queen answers vaguely fearful of his reaction if he learns where she currently is at. The king raises an eyebrow but doesn't get an answer rather soft lips pressed to his own. Thoughts of the young maiden lost as his mind focused solely on his queen.

The evening envelops the castle as one continues to remain awake. Caspian glances away from Artemis to walk over to the couch in his chambers. He pulls up the blanket up further covering the young boy who is snoring cuddling his wolf. Tesara opens one eye to see what the prince is doing. Caspian gently strokes her head lulling her back to sleep. He walks back over and looks down at the siren laying in his bed. His eyes memorizing each of her features as if she will dissipate into the night. He leans down kissing her forehead gently before slouching back into the chair. Taking her hand that is now intricately covered in black ink into his own as he inspects it closely.

He looks to her face while taking her palm placing it to his cheek. He sighs feeling her warmth seep into him. A weight rest on his legs making him look down to his lap. Vatalanie's eyes study him as she rest her head upon his legs. He rubs her head like he did Tesara and looks to his beloved.

"Brother?"

Caspian's eyes snap to the little beauty in pink who timidly walks into the room.

"Why are you awake Cass?"

"I couldn't sleep... You are up as well."

He watches as she walks up slowly sitting on the edge of the bed looking to Artemis. He looks back to her as well. The moonlight has come out radiating Artemis's metallic strands. Cass reaches forward brushing her strands to the side.

"I couldn't rest, not with..."

Cass smiles at her brother's worrisome face. Caspian drops his head thinking about all that has happened this evening. Meanwhile the young beauty walks over to the sleeping wolf curled against young Navene. She rubs her coat earning a purr of appreciation. Looking back to the elder sibling,  his gaze still intently locked on the goddess. She smirks before walking over to him placing her hand on his shoulder.

"She is here Caspian. Do not worry so much."

Caspian heaves a heavy sigh allowing his shoulders to slack.

"For how long?"

He takes her hand stroking her knuckles. His mind refusing to believe that she isn't magical. How else would he have come to care so deeply in such a short amount of time. Cass squeezes his shoulder in comfort.

"You could always give her a reason to stay..."

"She is unlike any other. I don't know if she will reciprocate my notion to her."

"It's easy to see big brother. Have faith."

Cass takes her leave looking back once more at her brother still holding Artemis' hand as in extension from himself. She grins walking back towards her chamber.Caspian lays his head down on their interlocked hands finally allowing the darkness to consume him.

The following morning is awaken with Cass sprinting down the hall heading to her brother's chambers. The king standing in the hallway and sees his beautiful daughter racing off but raises a brow at her destination. She quietly goes into the room unaware of her father's gaze upon her. He walks down about to glance in when his queen request his help.

Caspian wakes up the following to laughter. He lifts his head blinking away the sleep to see Cass pulling Navene up towards the door. Navene looks hesitant leaving Artemis but Tesara nudges him before following the duo out the door.

Caspian stands up stretching feeling his muscles loosen from the awkward position he slept in. He now sees that the wolves have gathered on his bed laying their bodies protectively encasing Artemis. He reaches rubbing Vatalanie's head once again before leaving the room as well. Making sure the door is closed before heading to the dining hall.

He arrives to see his father studying young Navene with Tesara sitting beside him. His mother is helping place food on each of the plates as Cass is already digging in on her food. His dad looks up at him with a questionable look before returning to Navene.

"Cass, may you introduce your young companion?"

"Sorry dad, this is Navene."

Navene looks up to the king before bowing his head in respect.

"Navene is it?"

"Yes your majesty."

The queen smiles adorably at the young man while Cass snorts loudly.

"I see you have a... friend of your own."

King chooses his words carefully watching the furry creatures ears lay back as if it feels threatened. Navene reaches down petting the wolf calming Tesara who is still looking to the king.

"Yes your majesty. This is Tesara, one of our family members."

"Ours?"

The king raises a questionable eyebrow as everyone gets quiet. The queen and Cass holding their breaths as Caspian waits to see his father's reaction. Navene clears his throat before answering.

"Yes sire, Artemis and I."

The king looks to the queen recognizing the name. The queen's eyes smiling with mirth before looking to their son. Caspian unintentionally looks towards the entrance. The king sees this and follows his gaze.

"Artemis is..."

"My guardian sire."

Caspian smiles at the term before taking a bite of his food. The queen grins seeing her son smile before looking back to her husband.

"Is she with you Navene?"

"She is resting sire."

The king nods while leaning forward to get his drink. He looks to his son who has a small smile on his face. His heart warming seeing that familiar smile he has for only his queen. He looks to her and they share a knowing look. The king realizes his wife is correct. His son has found his other half.

A loud clatter makes all heads snap to Navene whose eyes are wide as he looks to be elsewhere. He blinks a few times before abruptly pushing his seat back and run out of the hall without excusing himself. Everyone is quick to follow. Navene pulls out his sword before opening the door to Prince Caspian's chambers. The king's hand shooting out to guard his loved ones. Navene walks into the room still holding the sword steady. The king cautiously pushing the door open seeing Navene walk over to the balcony. The royal family making their way in.

The king's eyes going wide seeing Caspian's bed. On it were multiple wolves, all laying upon a young maiden like non he has ever seen. He walks towards the bed but low growls stop him as he sees the wolves intently watching him.

Navene has since looked around the room but a sound from the closet brings his attention back. He pulls it open and sees a man standing there. The unknown man is quick to lunge at the young boy. Navene is quick to react and metal clanks together.

The queen is quick to gather Cass in her arms as Tesara jumps to the assailant biting him hard. The intruder screams before attempting to stab the wolf. Caspian and the King stand frozen, watching how the young man is quick to react and slice the intruder's throat making him fall to his knees.

The king finally gains his motions and moves to his shaken wife and daughter. Navene cleans his blade and holsters it as Caspian looks down at the deceased man before looking back up at Navene.

"How did you-"

"Artemis sir."

Caspian whips around looking upon the sleeping beauty still gathered by her wolves.  He walks over not noticing the gazes of his families. He cups her cheeks rubbing them gently. He continues to look her over as the king speaks up.

"Navene... I believe we... need to talk.
