Once back at the station I head over to my desk to catch up on paperwork when a guy I'd say in his 30's walks over.

"Hey, I'm Clinton but you can call me Clint. Let me know if that fuckface bothers you." He said pointing at Jeremy.

"Thanks! I'm Violet and Coop already told me about him." I smile.

"If you need anything holler." He said going over to the coffee machine.

I look over at Coop and he smiles. "I told you he's a good guy." He said.

"That's good to know," I said yawning before I stand up and head over for some coffee. "Want some Coop?" I point.

"Sure I'll take a cup." He said.

I grab two cups of coffee and I assume black. I turn and hold up the creamer and he shakes his head no.

I take it back over to him and sit it down on his desk. "Here ya go."

"Thanks, Violet." He said leaning back in his chair.

I lean over my desk to set my coffee down and look back and caught him staring at my ass. I just act like I didn't see anything and sit down.

The next hour I work on paperwork when my phone beeps.

📱Hey munchkin how's it going?

📱Hey dad! Just working on paperwork.

📱When you get off come over to the house we are going to have a big breakfast.

I lay my phone back on my desk and sigh.

"Who would be texting you this time of the morning? A booty call?" Jeremy laughed.

"That would be none of your business," I said putting my phone in my back pocket and walking to the bathroom.

I walk in and use the bathroom and wash my hands and walk out of the ladies room to find Cooper standing there.

"Hey, you ok?" He asked grabbing my arm and leading me out a double door.

"I'm ok. Where are you taking me?" I ask.

"Just a place to take a breather and where day shift usually goes to smoke." He said.

I walk outside with him and it's like a patio that's fenced in with a big ashtray and a couple of chairs.

"Sit down a second." He said.

"Coop I'm fine that guy just gets on my nerves and well I'm not that kind of girl. If he really wanted to know it was my dad inviting me over this morning for breakfast with the family." I sigh.

He squeezes my shoulder. "Look it doesn't matter who it is it's not our business." He said.

"I know I'm sorry I'm edgy with not enough sleep," I said.

"It's ok we all need to take a breath sometimes and start over. But I won't let him pick on you. There was another girl here last year that worked Penny's shift when she was off and he picked on her so bad and she left." He said.

"Wow, he's a douche for sure. Why is he still here?" I ask.

"Well he's a good beat cop and thankfully he's not in the office much anymore." He said.

"Thanks for bringing me out here for a breather Coop," I said.

"Don't sweat it." He holds out his knuckles for me to bump.

"Badass duo," I smirk and bump knuckles with him.

Once we go back to the rest of the night went great. I was putting papers away and locked up my drawers when Coop walked me to my truck.

"Well, you enjoy your big breakfast with your family. I'm going to go home and eat an orange." He laughs.

"Coop come home with me. Meet my family. They are going to be curious about my partner." I said.

"Meet your family? We haven't even kissed... Never mind we have." He laughs.

"My Aunt Remi always makes sooo much food. Just follow me ok?" I said.

"Since you twisted my arm ok." He smiled. God his teeth are so perfect!

I jump in my truck and call my dad from the hands-free device.

📞Hey dad I'm on my way but set another plate I'm bringing my partner to meet you guys.

📞Dad, please don't call me that in front of my partner.

I click my radio on and loud until I pull into my parent's driveway and park with Coop behind me.

"Umm, you sure this is ok Violet?" He asked.

"Yeah, I called my dad and said I was bringing my partner so come on let's go." I smile at him grabbing his arm.

He follows me to the door and when I open it Amelia meets me at the door in a hug. "Did you miss me, Amelia?" I ask.

"I did sissy." She smiles.

"Hey, guys! I brought my partner. This is Cooper Holgate." I said.

Uncle Gray smiles and turns around walking over to us. "Hey man! Small world. I'm glad munchkin is pared up with you." He said.

"Uncle Gray really?" I said rolling my eyes.

"Oh, I mean Violet." He laughs.

"Munchkin huh?" Coop Grins.

My mom walks over and shakes his hand and offers him a seat at the table. I sit down beside him and wait for everyone to gather around.

"Man this is some breakfast." Coop leans over and says to me.

"My family always does food this way. My grandparents also come over so four more people." I laugh.

My dad was asking Coop so many questions like he was my boyfriend or something.

"Hey is that a real gun sissy?" Alex asks.

"Yes it is and don't touch it ok?" I smile at him and kiss the top of his head.

"Looks like you have a good big sister," Cooper said.

"Yup I do." Alex smiled.

"I can't wait to tell my friends my sister is a cop." Amelia giggles.

I look over at Coop and he smiles at me and winks.
