Little I ask; my wants are few; ~Oliver Holmes

14.

'Sir, what do you think about this one?' The assistant asked Jungkook for the nth time.

Jungkook sighed. He had seen hundreds of suits till now and he hadn't liked any of them. Some of them were too flashy and some of them too simple. It's not like they were not good. It's just that thye weren't to his taste. And if he wasn't comfortable in what he wore, he would be even more nervous on his wedding day. But he was also aware that they had already been here for two hours and Jungkook hadn't found a suit. He was afraid Taehyung was getting annoyed by him. His face would turn into an anguish grimace every now and then.

Jungkook looked at Taehyung again and finally found the courage to say, 'I am sorry. I am wasting your time. Maybe this won't work. I will find something. I don't want to waste more of your time.'

Taehyung looked at him and his face softened, 'Please don't say sorry Jungkook-ah. Please don't worry about time. We have plenty of time. I wouldn't want you to rush the process.' Tae smiled but with a nervousness he continued, 'I actually have another place in mind. It's not as traditional a shop as this. But few days ago, something had caught my eye. Would you like to see it?'

'Yes. I would love to.' Jungkook said smiling. Taehyung thanked the staff. And left for another store some 5 mins away.

As soon as they entered the shop, Tae asked the assistant to show the suit he had asked to be kept aside. Jungkook looked around. It wasn't as huge a shop as they previous one and they definitely had non traditional clothing. The cuts, fits and patterns were all modern.

The assistant soon came with the covered suit in her hands. Tae guided Jungkook to the changing area and handed him the suit.

Inside the room, Kook got rid of his shirt and opened the covering. He was amazed at what he saw. He took out the cream silk shirt. It was plain but screamed character. Something like this was exactly what he was looking for. The silk was premium quality... So soft on his skin and the only design on the entire shirt was one word written below the cuff link area on each side. It was this detail that made Jungkook want to cry. In a cursive black thread was written 'Forever' and 'Yours' on each side. He kissed the thread and took out the white trouser. It fit him well and finally he pulled out the white blazer that snuggled to all the right places in his body. Damn! He looked sexy. He felt sexy. The black shoes he was wearing matched well with the outfit. He brushed his hair back and got out of the room. He was nervous. Taehyung was typing something on his phone so Kook cleared his throat to get his attention. Tae looked up at the sound and his phone slipped from his hands. A part of his brain registered that his phone has fallen down but the view on front of him was too good to avert eyes from..

In cream silk and white suit, Kook looked so innocent and then his ruffled up hair and lip piercing made one weak on their knees destroying the innocence of the virgin colours. Tae looked at him with mouth open.

Jungkook saw his reaction. He knew he had found his suit. He internally laughed as he saw Tae gawking at him without a care about the phone discarded on the floor.

He cleared his throat and asked, 'So, how do I look?'

Tae saw Kook's lips moving. But his brain couldn't register what he was saying. His gaze again stuck on his lips. After some time, he came to his senses when Kook again cleared his throat.

'You look ethereal Jungkook. Silk was made for you baby.' Tae said before realising that the nickname.had already slipped his tongue.

Jungkook blushed hearing him. And soon Tae came closer to him and strated asking him about the fit and if something he wanted altered. Kook told the assistant to make a few alterations. And they promised that the suit would be ready in three days. Tae said he would pick it up. As they were going, Kook took out his card to pay for the suit.

The assistant looked at him and said, 'It has been taken care of by Sir.'

Kook again looked at Tae who had a smile on his face.

'You didn't really think I was going to make you pay for your own suit, did you?' Tae asked smiling as they sat in their car.

'Then I would pay for yours.' Kook retorted.

'I would glady accept your gift, Kook.' Tae said smiling.

'Good them let's go find a suit for you.' Kook said excitedly.

'Haha No, Jungkook. Today is just you. I can go any day and get a suit for myself. You will go back tomorrow. Let's go and see some rings, shall we now?' Tae asked.

'Okay. But still. I will help you with choosing..you better take me on a video call when you pick something.' Kook said pouting.

'As you say, Kook.' Tae said and sighed in contentment. For the first time, Kook had behaved as if Tae belonged to him. The feeling was so close to Tae's heart. Kook didn't know that if he had even asked Tae to stop breathing simply because he had asked him to, Tae would have gladly done that. Tae wanted to be belonged and Kook had for the first time claimed him as his, even if, indirectly. Tae was elated at the thought.

Kook saw how his one thing had made Tae so happy. Kook found Tae intresting if not confusing. He would try and act cold where he would do things but not tell him. He would make sure he was always comfortable but never asked for anything in return or even show how much he cared. Jungkook agreed to one thing, His husband was an ocean... He had so many layers to him. But Kook wanted to sift away the layers and reach the bottom. Maybe one day I will, Kook thought.

Tae again opened the door for him as they got out. Kook knew that the shop was open only for them as it was already 11.30 and all the staff had already gone home. Only the owner himself and an assistant were left.

They saw numerous rings. The problem was something that Kook liked, Tae wouldn't or the vice versa. And they weren't afraid to tell the other if they didn't like something. They were supposed to wear these rings for life... Something they would look at everyday. It had to be something they both liked.

Jungkook's eyes landed on a plain couple's ring set. He asked the assistant to bring it to him. He saw it up close and asked if they had the same in gold. They showed them the rings. Both of them liked them and were really happy to find them. They were simple love bands and yet elegant.

Jungkook asked Tae, 'Is it possible to engrave something on the inside?'

'Yes, What do you want?' Tae asked.

'It's a secret.' Kook winked.

'In that case, I would also like to get something engraved.' Tae said teasingly.

'This is a free country the last I heard, Mr Kim.' Kook said and whispered something to the owner and asked for a pen and wrote something. After he had returned, Tae did the same. They were told that their rings would be ready on a week. Tae told them he would pick them up.

'Let's go eat, Shall we?' Tae asked as they sat in the car.

'Yes. Let's go.' Kook said.

They drove in silence for sometime before Kook asked, 'Is there something else I need to do before leaving tomorrow?'

'Actually, we got this covered today. I will ask Eomma once in the morning. From what I remember, there isn't. But if something is left, I will share it with you over call.' Tae said.

Kook noticed Tae as he drove. His eyes serious and face neutral as he concentrated on the road ahead. He noticed how he would occasionally run his hands on his cheeks as if stroking his chin or cheeks. He couldn't help but think that Taehyung was definitely beautiful. Not the average hot with a well built body or the beauty that could be achieved with six packs or make up. There was something different about Tae. He was soft. He had a face that made one stop whatever they were doing and just admire his beauty. If they lived in the ancient age, Kook knew Taehyung's smile would be the cause of the biggest wars in history. There was something about him that Kook could still not point out. Something that made him different from others. Something that attracted Kook's darkness to him and willed light into it so easily as if the darkness had never once consumed Kook.

As he was lost into his thoughts, staring into the darkness, Tae again opened the door for him. They went inside the cafe. The soft lights and the red petals all over the place told Kook that Tae had arranged all of this for him. Tae took Kook to the rooftop where a table was set for them. As soon as they sat, a server came and took their order.

Kook couldn't help but keep glancing at the view of Han river. It felt so calming. The last few days had been crazy. He was so worked up and not even 12 hours before, he was going mad. After meeting Tae, things had calmed down. With Tae there was a stillness even in a rush. Even if they had spend the last few hours shopping, or the entire day travelling... Still he felt more at ease than he did at any other normal day. Maybe because Tae didn't rush things. He let him take his time. He let him be. Always putting his comfort first. Even this dinner... he could easily have taken him home or any expensive five star that his friends went to when in Seoul. But he ahd chosen a place with a view of the Han river. A cafe that he had booked so that no one else was there. The lights instead of being bright and on the face were mellow and the scent of petals in the air instead of overwhelming was pleasant. It wasn't posh. It was cozy. Just like how kook liked it.

There was no background music. The sound of the river served as their background music as they talked. They talked about their school, college, friends, experiences, trios they had taken. Even though Tae never spoke much. He asked the right questions. Letting Jungkook do the talking and whenever Kook asked something he would think and always satisfactory answers. He took time while giving his answers, sometimes, kook could see his struggle to find the perfect word for what he wanted to say. Sometimes, he would use a word and apologize and use another word that would be more appropriate. Tae definitely had a problem with expressing emotions but he made an active effort to be as honest with Kook as he could be in his answers. So, Kook was able to get a brief glimpse into Tae's brain.

They ate their food at a leisurely pace. Occasionally, Tae would refill their wine glasses. Kook noticed that Tae liked wine. Kook was more of a whiskey man but he enjoyed the wine. When you have a handsome man infront of you, you really don't want to order whiskey. You nursed your wine... Mulling it slowly in your mouth, letting it overpower your senses as you enjoyed the soft voice and adorable face in front of you. It would be safe to say, Kook would soon give up whiskey if he got to have dinner with this man for the rest of his life.

As he thought about all of this, he was sad to realise that their dinner was coming to an end. They wrapped up their conversation. Tae asked for the bill, paid and they got out.

As kook was about to go to their car's direction. Tae asked,

'Kook, would you like to take a walk to the River?'
