Randhir's pov
"You should have been careful Mr Malhotra! The situation would have been more weak and critical then this. Thank your stars that you have got just a hand injury and some stretches by god's grace!"
Dr Singh exclaimed treating the deep cut on my right forearm. Luckily it didn't needed any stitches much to my happiness. He treated my wound or scretches on my forehead and from the corner of my lips.
"You are good to go Mr Malhotra but you can't drive alone now. Any strain to the wound would worsen it's condition so please call someone from your family! Keep changing the dressing once in a day and try not to get it in contact of water. These are the list of the medicine you can get from the chemist and you have to take it regularly for 2 weeks!"
The doctor completed handing over the prescribed medication to me. I smiled at him thankfully replying
"Thank you so much doctor for all your help!"
He patted my back saying
"It's my job Mr Malhotra! So no need to thank me and hope you get better soon!"
He left the cabin after that while I stopped the nurse asking
"Can I get someone's phone? I think I lost mine in the accident maybe?"
She nodded with a polite smile and handed me her own phone. I tried remembering someone's number and thankfully Adith's phone got connected in the first ring itself. I didn't had the courage to call up anyone this late. Though I know I have to face Ahana which would be the worse of all but for now I let it go.
"Hello?"
Came the sleepy voice of Adith making me feel guilty of disturbing him right now.
"Umm Adith, it's me Randhir!"
I replied to hear silence for a good few seconds after which he said confused
"Randhir? Why are you me calling this late? What happened aur ye number kiska hai?"
I sighed and just replied
"Adith woh sab mein baad mein bataonga but first you come here in health care hospital now!"
Hearing this, his voice held alertness and he asked
"What the hell are you doing there iss time pe? Are you alright?"
"I am fine Adith and for once will you stop interrogating me and do as I am saying please!"
I muttered in half anger and half irritation to which he mumbled a quick reply and ended the call. I gave the phone back to the nurse thanking her,to which she nodded and smiling politely left too. I closed my eyes and the only face that came in front of me was my Ahana's. I know this past one week I have been so much busy in my own things that we hardly even had any talk at all. I leave home early and reach late at night and work then too. Office is been a total mess in the need of getting this deal which we lost without even proving ourselves. Ahana and I don't even have our lunch together which has somehow became our thing. I felt more guilty that not for once Ahana complained at all about anything as the only thing she needed was my little affection and love which I failed to give this time too and I have seen the longing in her eyes for me which she thinks that I don't really notice.
After 20 minutes,Adith was here and we wasted another 20 minutes in explaining everything to him because wasn't ready to leave the matter at all. We reached home in his car as mine was directly taken to garage by his driver for the little damage which was done.
"Have you informed bhabhi about this?"
Asked Adith as we entered the elevator. I got stiff on his question and just slightly shaked my head in no.
"Whatt? Randhir are you out of your mind? She must be worried for you and now suddenly seeing you in this state might effect her more!God Randhir why do you have to so stupid sometimes!"
He ranted in one breath making me close my eyes in irritation and once he finished,I said
"I know I should've informed her first and you don't need to scream your lungs out to me but I just didn't had the courage to do that. I hope she is not much angry!"
He smiled sarcastically later narrowing his said
"I hope tomorrow I see you in one piece!"
"Ran.... Randhir.....ye....kya hua aapko.... Randhir.....khun!"
My baby muttered with tears flowing her eyes which did nothing but broke my heart more.
"Ran.... Randhir.... boliye.....na ye...how the hell did this happened?"
She came close to me caressing the corner of my lips which had the slight cut making me hiss slightly.
"Ahana we'll tell you everything but for now please let him in!"
Adith exclaimed and Ahana did just that holding my hand and carefully made me sit on the couch. Ahana went and hugged Adith immediately sobbing in his chest. I got jealous of my very own best friend who more like a brother to me and is even going to get married. But I just can't take this sight of my wife crying on someone else's shoulder still here the worst part is,she is crying because of me.
"Ahu, don't cry baba he is fine now!"
Adith stated caressing her hair to calm her down. She removed her face giving me a glance and turning back to Adith asked
"How did.... did this happened?"
Adith sighed looking at me and once I nodded,he started saying
"Randhir left office in hurry as it was already late. He was in his way to home when he got a call from our investor's p.a saying that they have already decided to give this deal to our rival company. He got angry hearing this and got into a heated argument not realising that there was a truck coming from the front. But he thankfully noticed it on time and was successful in dodging it but in this he is here in this condition and got injured!"
Adith finished everything while I not for once had the courage to look into Ahana's eyes at all. I looked up slightly to see her sniffing and Adith patted her head in a comforting manner. He gave me look which said that 'you are going to take care of her' which made me roll my eyes because I am the one who needs to be taken care of.
"Uhh I think I'll be going now. Ahana just take care and if any problem then call me. I'll come again tomorrow with everyone!"
Adith informed and I stared at him wide eyes because I exactly knew that by everyone he meant our parents and my mom isn't going to leave me after seeing my condition. Finally Adith left and the moment Ahana closed the door, the next second she came running to me and started crying more in my arms. Though I felt a bit pain but my main concern was my wife right now. I circled my one arm around her frame pulling her close to me and kissed her head.
"Baby! Enough now I am totally fine! Stop crying so much jaan!"
Though I tried consoling her but all went in vain because her tears didn't stopped. I sighed just keeping her close to me and caressed her hair giving her the time to calm down on her own. She increased her hold on me and unknowingly a hiss escaped my lips as she pressed her hand on my wound near my forearm.
"I....I am sorry.....I didn't meant to hurt you....I.... just..."
She started apologizing the next second breaking the hug. I shaked my head and wiped her face saying
"It's okay! You don't have to say sorry!"
She pursed her lips in order to stop crying again and said in a heavy voice
"Let me see how bad it is!"
Saying so she started removing my shirt without even letting me reply while I just let her do whatever she wanted but she covered her face seeing the bandage and the blood stained on it.
"Baby it's just a bit of a cut.....!"
I started to calm her down and forwarded my hand to cup her face but she moved back a little and cutting me off said
"Aap thak gaye hoge na! You go freshen up and have some food before sleeping!"
Though her behavior felt weird and distant but I didn't pondered on it much and just nodded. I turned to go towards the bedroom but turning to her again asked
"Ummm....woh I won't be able to freshen up on my own so would you...!"
She again stopped me in the middle itself and nodding said
"You go ahead, I'll just come in a minute after heating up the food!"
"Ahana you can go if you want! I will manage from here!"
I exclaimed realising suddenly that she might get a little nervous with actually giving a bath to me but without paying any heed to my words,she completely removed my shirt which was hanging on me with all the buttons open. Next she worked on my trousers first removing the belt and opening the zip, turned around facing her back to me. I shaked my head on her still shy behaviour cause there's not a single thing she haven't seen and anyways she will have to see me for giving a bath.
"You can turn around!"
I said keeping my trousers in the laundry bag and now was just in my briefs. As Ahana turned to face me, her cheeks went pink reflecting a prominent blush which made me smirk as she still blushes like a teenager. She didn't made eye contact with me at all which kind of irritated me but I kept quiet.
She made me sit on the small stool and poured the lukewarm water on my body without letting it in contact of my injury. All the time,her fingers were a bit shivering and she made sure that she doesn't touch any wrong chords which was good for me too as her small, soft and feminine hand on my rough skin was sending shivers down my spine. If only Ahana's mood wasn't so unpredictable at times like these, then I would've surely had my way with her here itself. Properly cleaning me up,she handed me the towel and undergarments which I changed here itself and she turned her back as usual. After that we went into the room and I wore my clothes with her help.
"Mein khana laga deti hu! Aap aa jao!"
Saying so,she was about to go when I held her wrist halting her step and turned her to me again. I circled my hand around her waist and said softly
"Jaan don't be like this na! I know I should've been a little careful but I am totally fine now. It's just a small injury which will be healed soon but I can't bear your sad face baby! Please don't be sad again because I hate it the most!"
All the time she was looking down and as I finished,she looked up with slight tears but controlling herself,she smiled and nodded. Removing my hold from her waist, she went away just like that making me frown. Looks like she just needs a little bit more time to come in terms with everything.
I too went to the dining table and we had our dinner together. My heart constricted with guilt as I saw Ahana eating with me cause probably she was waiting for me so that we could have our dinner together and just like every other day from the past one week,I disappointed her today too and made her cry badly with this accident thing. Finishing our dinner,we moved to our bedroom and finally laid on it. I looked at my wife who had slept turning her back to me making me think why is she behaving this way because not for a single night after our marriage we've slept away from each other.
"Ahana!"
I called out once I couldn't control myself. She immediately turned to me and looked in a questioning manner.
"Do you need something? Are you feeling any pain?"
She shot her questions but I sighed and replied
"No! Everything is fine but why are you sleeping far from me? You know I have a habit of sleeping with you in my arms!"
"Umm....yaa....but your.... your arm is injured so I can't come close to you! You have to adjust for somedays until you are normal. So now sleep and if you need anything then wake me up immediately!"
Though she blushed on my statement but her expression was blank and completing her answer she again turned her back and slept. I huffed in anger and irritation and closed my eyes to get some sleep and after a lot of struggle, drifted to slumber.

"Talking while driving the car is illegal so this was meant to happen"
"But phone uthane ki zarurat hi kya thi? Na phone uthata aur na ye sab hota!"
"I heard kaafi dino se tum ghar bhi late aa rahe ho office ke chakkar mein!"
"Tab toh khana pina bhi bhul gye hoge tum!"
"Ek deal hi thi Randhir! And it wasn't the end of our company if we couldn't get it. Nothing is more important than you!"
I know you all must be confused as to what is happening here than let me enlighten you that as promised by my good for nothing bestfriend Adith,he came in the morning itself with everyone. Like everyone from my family to Ahana's and Sid, Ruhi, Swara too. And from the moment they have seen me,they are scolding me for my carelessness to which I didn't get to answer back at all. I looked beside me to the fucker who landed me in this situation eating pasta without any care of the world. Rolling my eyes at him, I turned to everybody and mom said once again in a disappointed tone
"This is heights of irresponsibility Randhir. Hamare bare mein nhi toh kam se kam Ahana ke baare mein soch liya hota. What she would've went through seeing you in that condition!"
Ahana! She is really pissing me off now. Today I woke up in the morning to see Ahana close to me and caressing my hair but the moment she saw that I am awake,she got up going away as if she has been caught stealing something and that was the last time she even looked at me so having a talk is a whole different thing.
"Umm the lunch is ready so aap log aa jao!"
We heard my wife's voice and turned our heads to see her standing there fumbling with her fingers and mind you she still didn't even glanced at me. I sighed as we all moved to the dining table.
"Tere pet mein abhi tak jagah hai? Pasta kha ke mann nhi bhara?"
Sid exclaimed to Adith making Ruhi and Swara laugh. Adith just twisted his face without bothering to reply and we smiled.
"Beta! You didn't had to make all this and stress yourself! It wasn't necessary!"
Mom said seeing the luch spreaded on the dining table. Ahana just smiled without saying anything and placed a bowl in front of me which looked like some kind of soup.
"What is this?"
I asked, eyeing the bowl distastefully and her plain reply was
"Chicken soup!"
"But I am not sick that you are making me have this!"
I argued to which I was awarded with another dry reply
"You don't have much say in this so have it quitly!"
"We are leaving beta but if this idiot troubles you at all then we are just a call away!"
Dad said taking Ahana in a side hug making me roll my eyes but my face held a smile as choti came to me saying
"Bass ha ab koi mere bhai ko tang nhi karega! Woh itne bhi bure nhi hai jitna aaplog bata rahe ho!"
We laughed at this and choti hugged me.
"Choti why are you crying?"
I asked softly seeing my baby sister almost in tears.
"Nothing it's just.....I got really worried for you! Please don't ever do this again!
I smiled kissing her forehead while the others adored our bond.
"You are fine na choti?"
I asked her cupping her face because I got this feeling that something is off with her. I could see it in her eyes. You could call it brotherly instincts or whatever but I knew something was wrong and the way she stiffened on my question made me more suspicious.
"Yess....yess bhai.... everything is fine. Your accident news got us very tensed so.... that's it!"
I sighed and taking her hand in mine replied
"I am fine sweetheart don't worry but you know your bhai is always there for you right!"
She got emotional and nodded her head hugging me again. They all got ready when mom came to me and patting my cheeks said sternly
"Apna khayal rakhi. Khabardar je mere bahu nu tang kitta te! Mein do laa dene tere kaan te!"
My face held a shocked expression while others were suppressing their laugh and my beautiful wife was confused as hell. Finally they bid us bye and as they were gone, Ahana asked
"Mama kya bol rahi thi?"
I looked at her as this is the first time she willingly talked to me and I smirked asking
"How does it feel being a Punjabi and still not able to understand a word of it?"
She huffed cutely and was about to pass by me but I caught her wrist saying
"She was saying to take care of myself and not to trouble her darling daughter in law or else she would not spare me!"
Ahana chuckled dryly removing her hand from my hold saying
"But that won't stop you from troubling me at all!"
I furrowed my eyebrows asking
"Why are you saying like this Ahana? I said sorry for yesterday right?"
"And you think that your sorry is everything? Will you be able to make things normal like before?"
This is really getting on my nerves now. What does she want me to do now?
"Do you even know why I am behaving like this with you?"
Asked she in a hurt voice and I replied slowly
"Yes! Because I got into this accident and....!"
I wasn't even able to finish as her chuckle reached my ears stopping me.
"No Randhir! This is the problem! You don't even know why I am angry with you! I am angry because you kept a fucking deal above your health! You kept this deal above our relation. Do you remember when was the last time we had a talk with each other? When we had a meal together peacefully? When was the last time you made me eat with your own hand? We haven't even hugged each other in peace from a very long time Randhir and even after doing all this, this is were you land yourself! In a accident which would've been more dangerous and critical. I didn't complaint at all Randhir knowing very well how much your work means to you but not on the stake of my husband's life!"
I was stunned hearing her accusation which was nothing but true. She was crying there with tears flowing her eyes but I didn't had the guts wipe her tears away and take her in my arms. We both were silent with her crying and me drowning in my own guilt when she asked something which made stumble back
"Was I not worth of knowing about your accident first? I shouldn't feel like this but why was it that you preferred Adith over me when it would've been me to take care of you and bring you home!"
