A/N: ayyo ladies and gentlemen!!

also shit's about to go down, pls don't kill me :))

tae's outfit up there

The rest of the wedding went by in a blur.

Everyone congratulating him, most unknown, a few known. Foods and drinks passing around for the lunch, people laughing and socializing, sudden hugs and shows of public affection from people he hadn't even seen till today.

Everyone was so hyped from the Jeon-Kim wedding.

But to Taehyung everything had been a whizz.

His mind was a whirl of emotions, thoughts and feelings.

He didn't know what to think, about his father, about Jeon Jungkook, his husband, about Jin hyung knowing everything, about his pending conversation with Namjoon hyung, about his overwhelming mother who was showing more emotion and love to Taehyung today than she had in 22 years together.

It was so fusching overwhelming and tiring.

But he was pretty sure that he remembered only five things from the wedding. Quite distinctly for that matter.

One.

Jungkook's eyes.

Those warm orbs looked down at him as if they were hiding a world behind them that he was willing to share with Taehyung only if he wanted.

Those warn, chocolatey brown, that reminded him of the way he liked his hot chocolate on rainy days, that had looked at him as if he were promising the world to him.

And maybe he actually did.

With those two simple words.

"I do."

Nothing in the world could compare to the magic those two syllables held.

That was the second thing that he remembered from the wedding.

Jungkook's soft, crystal clear voice that hadn't even hesitated even once when he took Taehyung as his legally wedded husband.

(fun fact: i wrote awfully wedded husband the first time. rip.)

Third.

The thick, yet elegant platinum band that adorned his left hand ring finger now.

The cool metal that Jungkook had slipped on to his finger, held by those beautiful fingers.

The metal band binding them to each other for the rest of their lives if their wedding vows were to be followed.

Fourth.

When the priest had announced them as husband and husband, as Jeon Jungkook and Jeon Taehyung.

Jeon Taehyung.

Somehow, that name felt just so right.

Even though he hated the reason for the name.

And then the last thing, but the most detailed thing he remembered out of everything.

The most magical moment of the entire wedding.

His hand came up to his lips, lightly tracing his lips, as if trying to remember the feeling all over again.

The feeling of pure bliss wash over him all over again.

It had been only a chaste peck of lips.

But the butterflies in his stomach after it made it feel like something much more.

Something much more precious.

Something with a hidden promise behind it.

A promise to never let him down.

A promise to always be there.

A promise of hope.

And that made Taehyung smile to himself as he looked down at his lap, watching his fingers twiddle.

Right now he was sitting in a limousine, all dolled up, looking pretty and perfect for the reception.

The reception was going to be grand.

More than a thousand people had been invited, business partners, celebrities, models and god knows who else.

Taehyung just hoped his father would show up here at least.

But knowing his father, he would.

Not out of love for his son though.

Only because the reception would serve as a perfect place for new business alliances.

Sighing, Taehyung hung his head low.

"You good?"

He heard a soft voice murmur from next to him.

Surprised his head jerked up, seeing a concerned Jungkook looking down into his eyes.

'This is so new.'

Taehyung thought, not used to anyone being concerned about him except Jin hyung and Namjoon hyung.

"Yeah. Just nervous."

He lied, not wanting to tell him the real reason.

"Don't worry it'll be all right. I'll be there."

He smiled softly, reaching out his hand towards Taehyung's, softly taking it into his grasp.

"Is it okay if I do this?"

Jungkook asked hesitantly, nervousness evident in his voice.

"Y-yeah"

Taehyung stuttered, not being able to say no.

Jungkook gave him a big grin, showing his front teeth in an adorable smile.

'He looks like a cute bunny.'

Taehyung thought, then frowning at himself, scolding himself internally.

'You're supposed to hate him. Don't get attached to him or else it'll hurt much more when he finds out. Hating him is for your own good.'

And he slowly slipped his hand out of Jungkook's grasp, turning to face away from him, staring out of the window.

Realizing the missing warmth in his grasp. Jungkook glanced and Taehyung's back, pointedly ignoring Jungkook.

Giving up for then, Jungkook sighed internally, choosing not to say anything to the other for the rest of the ride.

He thought bitterly,

'One step forward, two steps backwards.'

~~~~~
"Oh my gosh Taehyung! You look absolutely gorgeous!"
A lady dressed in a sleazy gold gown with diamonds as large as walnuts hanging from her ears, screeched into Taehyung's ear.
Trying to hide his wince at the high pitch, Taehyung quickly racked his brains to recall the name of the lady standing in front of him, who was also not so discreetly flirting with anyone and everyone in the room.
Mrs Lee.
Mr Park Bogum's partner, single, rich, searching for an eligible male as a life partner and them being single or not was irrelevant.
That meant Taehyung was also one of her potential preys.
The fact that this was his wedding was just a minor inconvenience for her probably.
He wanted to run away from there right away.
Just as he was about to walk away politely, his father caught his eye, glaring at him.
Mr Kim jerked his head towards Mrs Lee, mouthing
"Talk."
Taehyung wanted to pull his hair out of frustration by then.
This would be the thirteenth female, not counting the seven males, he'd be rejecting advances from.
Did everyone forget it was his wedding reception?
Gritting his teeth, he forced a smile on to his face before sweetly saying,
"You too Mrs Lee. You look wonderful."
Mrs Lee giggled to that, clutching on to his arm.
"Oh God! you're such a flatterer."
Taehyung forcefully smiled at that, feeling his father staring holes into his head.
'Finally he notices my presence'
He thought bitterly.
His father hadn't found time to acknowledge Taehyung even at the reception.
His business deals and money was far more important.
Gritting his teeth, he smiled before saying.
"No Mrs Lee, I'm just being honest."
"Oh Tae, you're such a sweetheart aren't you?"
She giggled, tracing a nail up and down his forearm.
Taking a deep breath, he extracted his arm out of her iron grasp before mumbling through his gritted teeth,
"Of course Mrs Lee. Now if you would excuse me, someone is calling me."
And he stalked away from there, trying hard to control his breathing as he reached the corner of the hall, away from everyone's view.
Suddenly he noticed someone walk up to him.
It was his father.
"You're such a disappointment, Taehyung. You can't even do one thing right. You just lost us a deal. Because your sorry ass couldn't fucking handle one woman. Congratulations."
And with that he stormed away, leaving Taehyung alone, before he could even respond.
Taehyung chuckled ironically at his father's last words.
'Congratulations.'
Finally his father had found time to come and talk to him and congratulate him.
Even if it wasn't for his wedding.
His eyes filled with tears or frustration and exasperation at that thought.
Why was anything he did never enough?
Why was he such a failure?
Why did his father hate him so much?
What was he never enough for his father?
Why was he such a disappointment?
His shoulders sagged down, as his head bent low, the weight of the world pulling him down.
He wanted everything to stop.
He wanted to run away from here, and be free.
He wanted someone to hold him tight, and tell him he wasn't a disappointment, that he was enough for them.
Someone to love him.
Was that too much to ask?
Suddenly he felt a pair of hands slip into his.
Before he screamed murder, he looked up.
Jungkook looking down into his eyes, with a warm look in his eyes, he whispered softly.
"Hey."
Not wanting to fight with Jungkook, because he was tired from the pressure of the wedding, the pressure of meeting up to his father's expectations, he didn't pull away.
"Hey."
He whispered back.
"I heard your father. I'm sorry."
Taehyung laughed bitterly at that.
He had managed to embarrass himself in front of his husband already.
"There's nothing new in that. I never seem to do anything right. I just keep disappointing father."
He mumbled honestly, not trying to run away from Jungkook this time.
He was tired of running, avoiding everyone he met.
"I don't think that's true Taehyung. Even though I may not know much about you, I think that's a lie."
Jungkook said, intertwining his fingers with Taehyung's long ones.
"I don't know why he hates me so much. I don't know why everyone hates me."
Taehyung mumbles his head hanging low as he struggled to keep his tears at bay.
Jungkook untangled one of his hands and lifted Taehyung's face delicately, wiping away the escaped tears
"Well, I don't hate you."
Taehyung sighed, this is why he wanted to hate Jungkook. He was so nice and sweet that it was very easy for him to get attached to Jungkook. And that would only hurt him when Jungkook finds out about him being a little.
"Like I said earlier. Yet. You don't hate me yet."
"Well, let's leave that for later? Right now it's time for our first dance."
"Oh Okay. Let's go."
And Jungkook lead him to the center of the dance floor, his arm wrapped around Taehyung's waist and the other intertwined with Taehyung's hand.
Both of them lost in the music, waltzing to it as the music played on.
Heart beats fast
Colors and promises
How to be brave
How can I love when I'm afraid to fall
But watching you stand alone
All of my doubt, suddenly goes away somehow
One step closerI have died everyday, waiting for you
Darling, don't be afraid, I have loved you for a thousand years
I'll love you for a thousand more
The world dissolving around them, both of them wrapped in their own bubble, shutting the world outside them.
"Taehyung, you look beautiful."
Jungkook whispered softly as he smiled warmly at Taehyung, causing him to blush slightly as he ducked his head, to his his blush.
Taehyung smiled softly, maybe Jungkook wasn't all that bad.
Maybe, just maybe, there was a tiny chance that he'd understand and might not hate him?
Maybe he should give him a chance, and let him in even if not completely?
Maybe hating him wasn't what he should do.
Just as he was going to open his mouth and say,
"You t-"
A single sound shattered their bubble.
*BANG*
A gunshot was fired.
