I stop when I see Klaus’ green necklace sitting on top of Stefan’s bed. I haven’t been wearing it lately…I don’t why. It’s beautiful and I love it, it’s just from Klaus. I was worried what my friends would think if I wore it. But then again, they’re not my friends anymore.

I grab the necklace off the bed, slipping it on. It’s a beautiful necklace that deserves to be worn. If people ask, I will proudly say it’s a grift from Klaus. It will piss them off so much, it’ll be great. Especially Damon, that is, if he still even cares about me anymore. He might not.

“Really Aria?” I hear Damon groan from downstairs. I frown, having no idea what is talking about. I haven’t done anything down there. I’ve been upstairs all night being miserable in Stefan’s room.

I speed downstairs, my eyes going wide at the sight in the Living room. Damon is chained to a chair, with a poker through his chest. Exactly like he did to Mason Lockwood…

“Low blow, Ari, low blow.” Damon says, looking like he’s ready to fall asleep.  Ouch, that has got to hurt, hasn’t it?

I laugh, surveying the scene. “What the hell happened to you?”

“Whatever twisted, angry girlfriend game this…stop it.” he sighs, leaning his head against the back of the chair.

“I didn’t do this.” I state truthfully, trying to keep from laughing.

“Quit screwing around.” Damon groans.

“I didn’t.” I argue walking over to him. This kind of worries me, who got in the house and did this. I know it wasn’t Stefan… maybe Rebekah? I don’t think so… “I guess you could call it karma Damon, this is what you did to Mason Lockwood.” I smirk, pulling the poker out of his chest. He tries to hold in his cry of pain, making weird noises instead. Weird…

I toss the poker to the floor, ripping off the shackles that holds his arm down. I pat his shoulder, a grin on my face. “Have fun untangling yourself.”

I start to go back upstairs but Damon screaming in pain stops me. I rush back into the living room and see the curtains wide open, and Damon burning in the sun. I run over to the curtains, shutting them tightly. I grab Damon’s ring off the floor, tossing it at him. He catches it with his one free hand, ripping all the other chains off.

“That was not me.” I say slowly, looking around the room fearfully.

“I know that now.” Damon mutters, standing up and stretching his legs.

“Do you think…” I trail off, not wanting to finish my sentence.

“Think that it could be Mason’s ghost haunting me? Yeah, I’m pretty damn sure Aria.” Damon retorts, looking majorly annoyed.  “Come on, we got to go get Ric.”

“Woah, no. I’m not going anywhere with you Damon. I don’t like you. You vervained me, and threw me in a burning car. Plus, you’re an ass overall.” I glare.

“Stop being like that Aria, you used to find me very charming.” Damon smirks, grabbing his jacket off the counter.

I roll my eyes, “That was before you liked my sister.”

“I don’t like Elena in that way Aria, stop being so bitchy about it. Now come on, Mason is both of our problems. You were there too.” Damon says, already opening up the door.

“Whatever.” I sigh, grabbing my sunglasses and hurrying after him. Before we get to his car, I push him against the wall, my hand wrapped around his throat. He gasps, looking surprised. I raise him a centimeter or so off the ground. “If you piss me off, or screw me over again. I won’t be as lenient as I was last time.”

I let him go, and he takes in a much needed breath, looking at me almost impressed. “How are you so strong?”

“I’ve been hanging with the right people.” I smirk, jumping into Damon’s car that I used to love so much. I still really love it…it’s pretty amazing.

“Did those ‘right’ people, give you that necklace too?” Damon questions, getting into the car.

My hand automatically goes up to my necklace, a smile coming over my face.  “Yeah, he did.” I whisper.

“So what? Klaus buys you necklaces now?” Damon demands, looking majorly jealous. Good, if he wants to screw with my feelings, then I’ll screw with his. That way we’re even in a way.

“He does, unlike you. You never bought me anything when we were together, except a ticket to become a vampire.” I glare.

Damon sighs, trying to calm himself. “So are you saying Klaus and you are…together?”  It looks like it physically pains him to say that, guess he still cares about me.

“Eew, God no. He may have bought me a kickass necklace but he’s still a ass that does super bad shit. He killed me, my sister, Tyler, and my Aunt. I’m not just forgetting about that. We just…mess around with each other.” I shrug, telling the truth.

“Mess around with each other?” Damon seethes, thinking the totally wrong thing.

“Not that kind of messing around Damon!” I yell horrified, causing him to laugh slightly. I can’t help the grin that comes to my face when I hear his laugh. It’s that genuine one that used to be reserved for me. “I’m sorry about what I said last night Damon, it was uncalled for.”

“It was called for Aria, I never should have vervained you. You mean more to me than Elena ever will. I will always choose you Aria, I just want you to know that.” Damon smiles, taking his eyes off the road for a second.

“I do, I’m just being a bitch.” I admit, “But…nothing can happen between us anymore Damon, I just can’t let it. Klaus would be furious, and I don’t want him to hurt you.”

“Of course nothing can happen…serious that is. What about like…makeup sex? That’s not that serious.” Damon suggests.

I let out a disbelieved sigh, “We cannot have makeup sex Damon.”

“Why not? You know you kind of want to.” Damon smirks, wiggling his eyebrows. Oh God, what am I starting.

“We’re in a car Damon.” I argue weakly, knowing that won’t stop him.

“So?” Damon grins.

“No…maybe tonight.” I smirk, shooting him a flirtatious look. Oh God, what the hell am I doing?

“I like that suggestion.” Damon winks, pulling up at the school. He drives around slowly, before coming to a stop in front of Bonnie and Caroline. Two people I really don’t like very much. I actually like Bon Bon more than Caroline right now.

“Greetings bitches.” I smirk, looking at them through my sunglasses. I hope I look kind of badass right now. Plus I sound like A from Pretty Little Liars.

“I think you got your voodoo wires all crossed when you got rid of Vicki Donovan.” Damon states, causing them both to frown. Yeah, apparently Vicki was the one trying to kill us the other night by burning us alive. Long story, but her ghost was technically alive and then it wasn’t. Done, not explaining anymore of that creepy bullshit.

“What do you mean? Why?” Bonnie questions.

“Because I’m pretty sure I just got spit roasted by Mason Lockwood’s ghost.” Damon winces.

“How?” Bonnie asks at the same time Caroline asks-

“Why would you think that?”

“Maybe because he chained me to a chair and shoved a hot poker in my chest.” Damon shrugs, giving her a pissed off look. He turns back to Bonnie, “I’m having a sense of deja vu.”

“I thought you said that ghosts couldn’t physically interact with people.” Caroline frowns.

“They can’t.” Bonnie argues, just as stunned as the rest of us.

“Yeah well, I don’t have time for vengeful Lockwood, when I kill someone they’re supposed to stay dead.” Damon glares, getting worked up. “Whatever you screwed up, fix it.” Damon commands, before speeding away.

—————————————————————-

“I’m never gonna hear the end of that damn necklace.” Damon groans, throwing his phone down. Neither will I. Klaus won’t let it go and neither will Rebekah. She still whines about it all the time.

“One of you guys will pay for this, right?” Mason Lockwood smirks just walking right up to us and draining down a shot. I share a look with Damon and Alaric who don’t look happy about him being here.

“Let’s get this over with.” Damon sighs, “I killed you, you want revenge. Get in line.”

“Actually I want an apology.” Mason says, leaning on the bar counter.

Ric and I both laugh, fining that hilarious. Damon is not one for apologies, especially with werewolves.  Ric instantly stops laughing, not amused anymore. “Good luck with that.”

“You know your nephew was turned into a mindless hybrid minion.” Damon smirks, hoping to make him mad. Yeah, apparently Tyler is sired to Klaus because Klaus’ blood created him. He’ll do whatever Klaus says because Klaus is like his idol… I bet you Klaus is digging that.

“I know, that’s why I’m here, to help Tyler.” Mason explains.

“Well sorry to break it to you buddy, but Tyler can’t be helped. At least not while Klaus is alive…which is like…always.” Damon sighs, referring to all our problems that could be solved if Klaus was dead.

“Not if you found a weapon that could kill-“ I cut Mason off before he can finish.

“There is no weapon that can kill Klaus.” But by the look Mason is giving me, there might be something. I grin slightly, “What do you know?”

“I know your boyfriend needs to apologize.” Mason retorts.

“Are you kidding me?” Damon demands, hating apologies.

“Are you incapable of remorse?! Just apologize.” Ric commands, looking super pissed off with Damon right now.

Damon takes a deep breath, “You’re right, I didn’t have to kill you. I do a lot of things, that I don’t have to do.” Damon finishes, looking satisfied with himself. Oh God…that was the worse apology I’ve ever heard even from Damon.

Mason looks at him for a second, before laughing and hitting his shoulder. “That’s good enough. Meet me at the old Lockwood tomb, bring a shovel.” his eyes roam over Ric and I.  “Bring your girlfriend too.”

“So you can bury us alive?” I guess, giving him a suspicious look.

“Don’t tempt me.” Mason says seriously, before walking away from us. I watch him walk away, hoping he’s not up to anything. But you know he has to be because he’s a werewolf, and a vengeful one.

Wait…he called Damon my boyfriend? Is he still boyfriend? No…maybe…ugh shit, I don’t even know anymore.

———————————————————-

Damon and I walk into the tomb/cellar thing…I don’t know what to call it. All I know is that it belongs to the Lockwood family.

“I’m surprised you two showed.” Mason comments, blowing out a lighter once he has lit the lantern. Can’t we just use flashlights? Or our phones? Why do we need a lantern.

“Hit a snag in our only other Klaus lead, so you could say I am highly motivated.” Damon shrugs, and I catch how he only says that he is motivated.

“Mikeal? Yeah…that didn’t turn out so great did it?” Mason teases, handing Damon a lantern. So apparently Mikeal is a vampire hunter that can kill Klaus…but that is really all I know. Oh and that Katherine went out to find him.

“How do you know more than me?” I frown.

Mason takes the shovel from Damon, “There’s not much to do on the other side except sit and watch other people screw things up.”

“What are we looking for?” Damon questions.

“There’s an old Lockwood family legend about a weapon that can kill an Original vampire.” Mason swings the shovel, hitting the brick wall leaving a slight hole in it. “Unlike the rest of there secrets, they kept it buried.” Mason swings it again, not really making a difference.

“Oh come on. Give me the thing.” I sigh, gesturing for Mason to hand me the shovel. He hands over the shovel, but continues to stand in my way. I give him a look telling him to move, and he takes a few steps away from me. I wink at him, “Watch and learn sweetie.”

I swing the shovel about four times as hard as I can, making a huge hole in the wall. Big enough for us all to fit through it. I push some of the remaining pieces of brick away, making a perfect circle.

We all peer through the hole, seeing a really creepy tunnel thing. Definitely not going first…or last…I’ll be between them.

“Go for it.” Mason grins, looking between Damon and I.

“You go for it.” I glare.

“What? You think I’m leading you into a trap?” Mason smiles, amused by my suspicion.

“Thought crossed my mind.” Damon frowns, staring at the dark tunnel.

Mason rolls his eyes, pushing past Damon and I, climbing through the hole and going into the tunnel. Damon gestures for me to go next but for some reason I don’t want…I shake my head, causing him to climb in next. I climb in last, following behind the boys.

——————————————————

“I’m still waiting for the other shoe to drop. Your motive is deceptively pure.” Damon says, now leading us down the tunnel which keeps winding and opening up to other tunnels. How are we ever going to get out of this tunnel?

“You talk the talk, but I know you will do anything for your brother. You won’t screw me over as long as we have the same agenda.” Mason replies.

“You expect us to believe you won’t screw us over?” I question, still following behind them. Mason laughs for some reason, finding that funny. Oh yeah, him screwing over Damon and I is just so freaking hilarious.

Damon stops suddenly causing me to bump into him. He looks back at me, shooting me a glare. I give him an innocent smile, not having been paying attention to what’s in front of me.

“Which way?” Damon asks, looking over at Mason. I look past Damon and see that the tunnel branches in two directions.

“I don’t know, flip a coin.” Mason shrugs, looking between the two tunnels.

“Aren’t you supposed to be all-knowing?” Damon frowns.

“I’m a ghost, not God.” Mason gives Damon a ‘what the fuck’ look which actually makes me laugh. That was pretty funny. “Go left.” Mason tells him, flipping the coin in his mind I guess.  Damon looks at Mason a second, before going into the right tunnel. “Or not…” Mason mutters, “You have trust issues anyone ever tell you that?”

“Oh, many times.” I say, right as I hear Damon cry out in pain. My head snaps down the tunnel and I see four wooden poles protruding from the wall into Damon. He tries to pull one out but the pole burns his hand. Guess there is vervain on them…ouch, that cannot feel very good can it? Good thing they all missed his heart or we’d really have a problem.

“He did tell you to go right.” I say, walking over to Damon slowly, worried I might get stabbed with a bunch of things also.

Damon groans in pain, shooting me a heated look. I look back at Mason and see that he has disappeared. Great..how is Damon going to get those out of him now?

“Wonderful, Mason ditched us.” I sigh, poking the wood and hissing in pain when it burns my finger. Okay, that must be really painful for Damon…he kind of deserves it though…

“The old you would be worrying about me…” Damon mutters, actually sounding kind of upset.

“Yeah, well, I know this won’t kill you so why should I be worried?” I shrug.

“Because you used to care if I was in pain.” Damon whispers.

I freeze up for a second, not knowing what to say. I quickly regain my composure, trying to act like what he said didn’t hurt like hell.  “Of course I still care Damon, I’m not heartless. You still mean the world to me, and I still love you. I just…I can’t show it anymore.”

“How touching Aria.” Mason teases, suddenly coming back with the shovel. I glare at him, taking a few steps away from Damon. Mason swings the shovel, disconnecting the four poles from the wall one at a time.

“You’re welcome.” Mason smirks, before ripping one of the broken stakes out.  Damon groans in pain, but that only seems to urge Mason to keep going.

“What’s your game Mason? Damon ripped your heart out, after having tortured you. I betrayed you, by not helping you when you needed me to. This buddy thing you are pretending to have with us, it can’t be real.” I demand, knowing that he has to be up to something.

Mason pulls out the last stake, throwing it to the floor. He spins towards me with narrowed eyes. “Do you know what the other side is like? You’re all alone. You watch the people you left behind and you regret your decisions. That’s it.” Mason explains, “Look, I can’t change what happened to me, but maybe I can change what will happen to Tyler. I don’t need revenge guys…I need redemption.” Mason turns around, walking deeper into the tunnel.

I look over at Damon, squeezing his shoulder slightly.  “If it makes you feel any better, I would be really pissed if you died.”

Damon laughs slightly, the laugh laced with pain. “Yeah Ari, makes me feel so much better.”

“Great.” I smirk, before following after Mason. I’m getting too close to Damon again. If we get any closer and Klaus finds out…he’s not going to be happy. He’ll probably end up compelling me to turn off my humanity or something.

Suddenly I run into something, and I look up, frowning when I see nothing. I share a look with Damon who is next to me. Damon puts his hands against the barrier, trying to push through it but it doesn’t work.

“You have got to be kidding me.” Damon seethes, “This is not happening…”

“What now?” Mason sighs, sounding done with our shit.

“We can’t get through. It’s like we’re not invited in.” I explain.

“Wait.” Damon commands, not wanting Mason to go ahead of us.

“I’m not going to stop because you two are stuck. I’ll let you guys know what I find.” Mason says, continuing to walk farther away from us.

“Yeah but-“ Mason cuts Damon off before he can finish.

“Looks like you’re going to have to trust me.” Mason says, amused.

“Wonderful.” Damon grumbles, not happy about being stuck.

Mason suddenly stop, shining his light along the tunnel wall, a look of awe passing across his face.

“So, what’d you find?” I ask impatient and pissed that I can’t see it. Stupid vampire barriers.

“It’s-“ Mason stops, a look of dread coming over his face. A second later he disappears the lamp falling to the floor. Shit. Guess Bonnie fixed whatever was happening to the ghosts and made them ghosts again.

“No, no, no.” Damon mutters, “Mason?! Where’d you go? Mason!” Damon calls out, but I think he knows that it’s hopeless.

Mason Lockwood is once again a ghost.

————————————————

Damon and I sit on the steps to the opening of the cellar waiting for Ric to come. It has been like 20 minutes since Damon called him, and I’m starting to get worried that he won’t show. Apparently Ric is mad at him because Damon killed him again or something like that. I’m not exactly in the scoop anymore since I’m bad and all that.

My worries fade away when I hear Ric walking into the cellar. “You’re here. About time.” Damon sighs.

“You two didn’t have anyone else to call?” Ric glares, sounding majorly annoyed.

“No actually I don’t.” Damon admits, “I needed someone who was a non-vampire and other than Elena, you’re the only one I trust.” I feel a stab of jealously when Damon says that he trusts Elena. He never use to…

“You have a crappy way of showing it.” Ric says, his eyes still narrowed.

“If Mason Lockwood could get over the fact that I killed him, can’t you cut me a little slack Ric?” Damon sighs, and I have to fight the urge to roll my eyes. Seriously Damon?

“I shouldn’t have to get over it. I was your friend Damon…you shouldn’t have done it in the first place.” Just like you shouldn’t vervain your kind of girlfriend while you’re making out.

“Well…sometime I do things that I don’t have to do.” Damon shrugs, using the same shitty apology he used on Mason. Ugh God, he
