“Hello Arianna.” Jules smirks, towering over me.

“Remember us?” Fredrick questions, holding a wooden stake. What the hell is he doing here? He’s supposed to be long gone.

“How could I forget? My two favorite torturers.” I answer, taking a few steps away from them. They seem so tall right now, they’re like towering two feet over me…

“We came back for round two.” Jules states, and suddenly I am on the ground. I try to scream but my voice is suddenly gone, my mouth just open in a silent scream. Jules laughs, pinning me down to the ground.

“More like round 50 for me.” Fredrick grins, leaning down next to me. He gently strokes my face, making me want to vomit. I thrash around in Jules grip, pure terror taking over. I just want them to leave me alone.

“Scared Arianna?” Jules teases, her eyes turning a bright yellow. Fredrick’s eyes turn bright red, veins browning underneath him. They both smirk at me, and this time, I am finally able to scream.

“Damn it Aria, wake up!” a voice yells, as I bolt upright in bed, gasping for breath. I look around the room panicked, praying they’re gone. “It’s okay Ari, it was just a dream.” Damon whispers, wrapping his arm around my stomach. I grab his arm, trying to steady my breathing. It was just a dream, it was just a dream…

“Thanks for waking me up.” I tell him, once I find the courage to speak.

“It was hard as hell, you wouldn’t wake up. You just kept thrashing around, screaming. I was worried.” Damon frowns, turning me around in his arms so I am facing him. I give him a small smile, kissing him lightly.

“Sorry, I didn’t mean to make you worried.”

“It’s too early for me to be worried.” Damon sighs, a teasing tone in his voice.

“Well sorry for troubling you, how will I ever make it up to you?” I grin, false worry in my voice.

Damon pushes me back down onto the bed, pinning my hands above my head. He kisses my neck, then shoulder, slowly lifting up my shirt. “I think I know a way.” he whispers his voice deeper than usual.

I laugh as he lifts my shirt above my head. “I’m all for it honey.” I smirk.

———————————————————-

I look around the woods nervously, worried something is going to pop out at me. This is how girls get eaten in horror movies, going out into the woods, alone. No one even knows I’m out here. Actually, one person does.

“Hello Aria.” Elijah smiles, emerging from behind a tree.

“Hey.” I answer, narrowing my eyes at him. I didn’t forget what he did to Damon. But he did save Damon and I’s asses the other day, so I guess he is forgiven?

“I’m glad you came, I was starting to doubt you would.” Elijah comments.

“Sorry, I was just a little preoccupied this morning.” I really hope I’m not blushing right now, I think I am. Damon and I were very busy this morning. Lets just say, we almost broke the bed. I know that sounds so Twilight…eew.

“I’m sure you were.” Elijah laughs, like he knows what I was doing. I really hope not. That’s embarrassing.

“Why did you call me out here Elijah? Cut the crap, I know it wasn’t just for company. Even though I am fabulous company.” I smirk.

Elijah sighs, looking down at the ground before meeting my eyes. “I was worried about you Aria.” he admits softly.

I look at him, my eyes round with shock. “You were worried about me? You, the thousand year old Original, was worried about me?” I clarify.

“I was, we have come to be friends, have we not?” Elijah asks. Aw, that’s so cute.

“Yes, we have.” I laugh before giving Elijah a quick hug. “Thanks for saving us by the way.” I whisper in his ear before I pull away. Elijah smiles back at me, making him look a lot younger than he is. It’s really cute.

“I’ve heard that your Salvatore boy has plans to kill me.” Elijah suddenly says, causing me to roll my eyes.

“Even if he did Elijah, I wouldn’t tell you.” I shrug.

“I figured that, but you know I can hear your heartbeat?” he smirks. I arch my eyebrows because I highly doubt my heartbeat gave away anything. I’m a pro at lying to vampires.

“Great, I’m sure you heard I am still alive then.” I smirk back, knowing Elijah was trying to bait me.

“You are very cunning Arianna.” Elijah comments, sounding slightly impressed. “I imagine my brother will like that about you.” My head snaps towards his, not liking that he is brining up Klaus. And the fact Klaus will like me. That’s just weird. Maybe he’ll get my phone number before he eats me.

My phone starts blasting Maps by Maroon 5, I take it out, seeing that it is Damon. “What up?” I answer.

“Can you meet Ric and I at the Grill, we have matters to discuss. Where are you by the way? You just left this morning?” he questions, sounding suspicious.

“Sorry, I’m with Elijah, I’ll be at the Grill soon. Love ya.” I say, hanging up before Damon can yell at me. It’s no secret that Damon hates Elijah, and he hates me spending time with him. I think he is just jealous.

I look back over at Elijah, giving him a sincere smile.  “I have to go, maybe I’ll see you later?” Elijah nods, and I just take off running through the woods. I don’t have a car, or a ride so…looks like I’m jogging towards the Grill.

At least I’ll get some exercise.

————————————————

I slide into the seat next to Damon, painting like a dog. He looks over at me, an amused grin on his face. “I see you had to run here.”

“Yes, and I got nice and sweaty.” I smirk, giving Damon a big hug. Damon groans and pushes me off him, looking disgusted. I laugh, as he desperately tries to wipe my sweat off him. “That’s what you get for not offering me a ride, you Walnut.”

Damon looks over at me startled, “Did you just call me a Walnut?”

“Yeah.” I reply in a duh tone. “Would you rather me call you an Almond?”

Damon looks at me like I’m crazy, not replying to my question. I laugh, loving the expression of confusion on Damon’s face. It’s hilarious.

“What happened to him?” Ric questions, finally showing up for their little meeting thing.

“I called him a Walnut, he seems to be at a loss for words.” I shrug, patting Damon’s head. He slaps my hand away, giving me a playful glare.

“I’m never at a loss for words Ari, I was just trying not to insult you.” Damon sighs, recovering for his LOSS OF WORDS.

“Sure, whatever you say buddy.” I laugh.

“Other than your lecture on the history of Mystic Falls, get anything else out of Elijah?” Damon asks, and at first I think he’s talking to me but then I realize the question was directed at Ric.

“You had a meeting with Elijah also?” I ask, frowning at him.

“It was boring.” Ric sighs, “Of course Jenna thinks that he’s charming.” Ric mutters.

“Jenna was with you?!” I demand, thoroughly confused. Damon and Ric both ignore me though, which is very rude.

Damon stares at Ric for a moment, an amused smirk on his face. “You sound a bit jealous.” he states, “Doesn’t he sound a bit jealous?” Damon asks me.

“A bit.” I smile. I don’t know why Damon is hassling him for it, Damon is jealous 24/7 these days. “Oh I should warn you, Elijah knows you want to kill him.” I tell Damon, changing the subject.

Damon shrugs, “I think everyone knows I want to kill him Aria. I just need the right opportunity.” he mumbles. Suddenly he perks up, a grin taking over his face. “Look who’s here, Jenna with her new boyfriend.”

Ric and I both look at Elijah and Jenna who just walked into the grill. Ew, Jenna looks all sappy and shit. She should be devoted to Ric, even though I get why she is flirting with Elijah. He’s a good-looking man, just not as good looking as my man.

Damon waves them over, “Hey.”

“Hey guys.” Jenna smiles, coming over to us.

“I heard you guys had a meeting of historical minds today. Then in your off time, you decided to chit chat with my girlfriend.” Damon fake smiles, concealing his glare at Elijah.

“I didn’t know Elijah and Aria met up, but we did have a good meeting.” Jenna laughs, looking over at Elijah, He gives her a polite smile back.

“As much as I love this conversation I have to go. I got papers to grade.” Ric states, gathering his stuff and leaving the table. I try not to laugh, but I can practically see the jealously pouring off Ric.

“We should keep this conversation going then later, lets have a dinner party.” I suggest, not knowing why I am suggesting it. Split second decision.

“Oo, my girl, full of good ideas.” Damon smiles, wrapping his arm around me. “I would be happy to host.” he tells Jenna and Elijah. “Say tonight, maybe?”

“It’s good for me.” Jenna answers.

“It would be a pleasure.” Elijah smiles, but I know he knows Damon is up to something. Ric groans, looking ready to kill someone. Guess he doesn’t want to go. Too bad, Damon will make him.

Poor Ric.

—————————————————-

“What’s going on with you and Ric, I feel tension.” I frown, setting the whine glasses down on the table. Ugh, Damon made me the waitress, as well as Jenna.

Jenna looks over at me, a guarded expression on her face. “I don’t know. I really like him.” Jenna admits looking down at the table. “It’s more than like, and I really want it to work. But I can’t help but feel that he is hiding something from me. And then I have John whispering things in my ear about him.”

“Ugh, what has that jackass been telling you?” I groan.

“Things I don’t want to believe…things I don’t believe. Not if they’re coming from John’s mouth.” Jenna corrects with a small smile.

“You need to be able to trust him Jenna, or it won’t work.” I say softly, feeling terrible for her. Ric is just keeping it secret to protect her, but it kills him not telling her. Ric is a super good guy.

“I know that, but I know he’s keeping something from me Aria. I don’t like to be lied to.” Jenna shakes her head, making me feel even worse. I’m lying to her…

“Maybe he’s keeping it from you to protect you. Don’t blame him for something that is not his fault. I know for a fact that he loves you, so I’m sorry, but get over it Jenna. People are allowed to keep secrets.” I say, feeling the urge to defend Ric. Probably not the best thing to say since now she knows that I know his secret. Oh well, it needed to be said.  “I’m going to go find Damon.” I give her a little smile before heading into the living room. She needs time to think about what I said.

I walk into the living room, seeing Ric and Damon over by the drinks. What a surprise.  “Mm, you look sexy Aria.” Damon comments, causing me to blush slightly. Ugh, stupid feelings.

“New outfit.” I smirk, twirling around for him. (Picture on side of outfit.)

“This is a bad idea.” Ric stats suddenly, starting to pace.

“There is no such thing as a bad idea, just…poorly executed, awesome ones.” Damon shrugs, offering a glass of bourbon to Ric. “Here.”

“No.” Ric answers, causing Damon to roll his eyes. He offers the glass to me, and I eagerly accept it. “I don’t like the idea of him being in the same house with Jenna, or Aria for the matter. You should feel the same way, she is your girlfriend.” Ric points out.

“Jenna and Aria are perfectly safe. Besides it’s just a fact finding mission, it’s totally harmless.” Damon says, taking a sip of his drink. Elijah would never hurt Jenna or I. I know that.

“Just a fact finding mission?” Ric clarifies.

“Yeah.” Damon answers in a duh tone.

“No sneak attacks, no surprise plans, nothing that is going to put Jenna or Aria in harms way, okay?” Ric demands, and I find it heart warming he cares about me.

“Jesus Ric, it’s not Mission Impossible, he won’t do anything.” I say, though I’m not too sure about it.

“Hey, I need some help with the wine.” Jenna tells us, coming into the room. Damon smiles, patting Ric on the back before pushing him away.

“I think you should go help them Aria, I have business I must attend to.” Damon announces.

“Don’t bother, I know what you’re going to do. It’s stupid and reckless. Not to mention you’re lying to Ric. So yes, I’ll leave, I don’t want any part of your stupid ass plan.” I glare, storming out of the room. I can’t believe him right now. I wanted to believe that he was telling the truth to Ric but… I’m kind of just pissed he lied to Ric. He should have just told the truth to his friend, his only friend other than me.

I storm out into the hall, trying to suppress my anger. Damon is just doing what he thinks is best. Even if it is as far from the best idea as possible. Damon is just one stupid 100 something year old.

The doorbell rings, and I hurry to get it thinking it’s Elijah. Let me tell you, it’s not Elijah. “Who the hell invited this asshole?” I demand, glaring at John. I don’t just magically like him cause he gave me a bracelet. He can’t buy my forgiveness.

“John, surprise. Leave.” Damon commands, gesturing out the door. Guess Damon didn’t know he was coming either.

“When Jenna told me about the dinner party for Elijah, I figured I couldn’t miss all the fun and games.” John answers, staying right where he is.

“There is no fun and games, John. It’s just a friendly dinner party.” Ric tells him, not knowing that he is lying. I don’t really care though, since it is John he is lying too. Ric I care about, John, I do not.

John turns around to Damon and I, causing us both to shrug. “What he said.” we say at the same time, both of us lying easily.

——————————————————————-

“You seem angrier than usual.” Jenna observes, taking a sip of her wine. Bad girl, she’s supposed to save that for dinner.

“Did you just call me an angry person?” I question looking over at my Aunt.

She shrugs, holding her hands up in innocence. “All I’m saying is that it looks like you’re upset with someone.”

I sigh, looking up at the ceiling.  “I’m just annoyed with a certain guy.”

“What did Damon do this time?” Jenna groans.

I smile slightly, “Nothing major.” he’s just planning on killing a good friend of mine. That’s it. Oh, plus he’s lying to his best friend.

The doorbell rings and Damon hurries to get it, knowing it is Elijah. I watch them as they chat for a few moments, tension radiating off them both. Elijah turns towards Jenna and I, a smile gracing his face.

“Jenna, Aria, so good to see you two again. You two look stunning.” Elijah comments, walking towards us. I ignore him and look back at Damon who restrains himself from slamming the door shut. I wonder what Elijah said to him.

“I think we should head to the dinner table, the food is ready.” Ric tells us, walking into the room followed by his lackey John. Ew.

“I’m sorry, but I’m not feeling very hungry. I hope you guys have a nice dinner though.” I smile, heading towards the front door. I share a look with Damon, before slamming the door shut behind me. I can’t be in that house right now.

I know I should take Damon’s side, but I don’t want Elijah to die. He’s a good guy, even if he did stab my boyfriend in the throat. I just can’t sit there knowing what Damon is going to do. I just can’t.

——————————————————-

Why am I so stupid? I got a freaking ride from Damon, so now I am stuck walking home. In heels! I am not enjoying myself right now, maybe I should have just stayed…nah. Way to many problems in that house. Damon wanting to kill Elijah, Elijah wanting to kill him, and the biggest one, John is there.

I see a blur speed past me and stop dead in my tracks. I look around, not liking where this is leading up to.

“Whoever is there better leave now, because I am not in a good mood.” I warn, more annoyed than scared.

“Did you know your boyfriend was going to make an attempt on my life?” Elijah demands, coming out like I asked. Guess Damon failed at his stupid plan… I knew he should have never even attempted it!

“Yes, but that’s why I left. I didn’t want to see you die. you’re my friend. But I couldn’t tell you either Elijah, I couldn’t betray Damon like that.” I argue, glaring at him. Ugh, I hate being stuck in the middle of things. I prefer to be up front.

Elijah stares at me for a moment, guilt shining in his eyes. “I am truly sorry about this, Arianna.”

That’s when everything goes black.

————————————————-

Elijah practically drags me through the woods, ruining my new boots. I’m so pissed at him right now. I should have cheered when Damon said he was going to kill him. He freaking knocked me out, and kidnapped me. I mean, what kind of friend does that? A really, really fucked up one, that’s who.

My eyes widen when I see the Lake House come into view, Stefan and Elena are here. Guess he wants Elena too, so he can just deliver us right to Klaus. I hope they know he’s coming…well, only one way to make sure.

“Elijah is here, get out!” I scream, knowing Stefan will hear me.

“Hush.” Elijah scolds, like I am some child. I glare at him, feeling an outstanding urge to punch him in the face.

Elijah bends down, picking up some rocks from the ground. What is he gonna do? Play some freaking hopscotch? Should I go grab some chalk from Toys R Us?

Elijah rolls them around in his hand for a few moments, before firing them at the front door. The front door practically shreds, and is ripped off it’s hinges. “Holy shit.” I mutter, my jaw hanging wide open.

Elijah looks over at me, giving me a smirk. Ugh, he is just as arrogant as all the other vamps I have met. Even if he is a lot older. And hotter.

“You know, I may not be able to enter this house, but I am a very patient man. I’ll wait you out, plus, I have Arianna here to keep me company.” Elijah states, using the hostage card. Wow. Smooth Elijah, real smooth.

“Let her go Elijah.  They shouldn’t have done what they did.” Elena apologizes, trying to cover for Ric and Damon’s actions. Elijah told me how Ric stabbed him with the dagger. Apparently if you don’t keep the dagger in Elijah, he comes back to life. Oh and vampires can’t use it, so that’s why Ric used it and not Damon. It would have killed Damon.

“The deal is off.” Elijah exclaims.

“I’m renegotiating.” Elena argues. Hey, that’s my job, I’m the sales person…

“You have nothing to negotiate with.” Elijah smirks, having a very good point on that one.

Elena stares at him for a few moments, before pulling a knife out of her sweater. What is she doing? “I would like to see you lure Klaus to Mystic Falls after the Doppleganger bleeds to death. And I know Klaus needs me for the ritual, not just Aria.” Elena warns, a deadly look in her eyes. Please don’t do something stupid Elena.

“Stefan won’t let you die.” Elijah shrugs, once again having a good point.

“No he won’t, he’ll feed me his blood, then I’ll kill myself again and become a vampire. Just like Katherine did.” Elena threatens, “So unless you want that to happen, you need to promise me, that you won’t harm anyone Aria or I love. Even if they’ve harmed you.”

“I’m sorry Elena, I’m gonna have to call your bluff.” Elijah says, causing Elena’s face to go grim. She turns the knife around in her hands, pointing it to herself.

“Elijah, I don’t think she is bluffing.” I say, my voice cracking nervously. Elena looks at me for a second, trying to tell me something with her eyes. She takes a deep breath before bringing the knife down, stabbing herself in
