A knock on the door brings me out of my thoughts. Well...memories I guess. I'm kind of thinking about how amazing last night was with Damon. I mean I've done it before but it's never been that good. Okay, you probably don't want to hear about how good Damon was at sex... oh my God Aria, just...shut up now.

"Come in!' I call out, sitting up in bed. Elena opens the door hesitantly and walks in, looking around.

"Your room has gotten messier since I last saw it." Elena comments, frowning at the mess around her. Hey! My room is not that messy, I've seen worse. Try walking in Tyler's room, now that is a messy room.

"It hasn't been that long since you've been in here." I answer, and hope I'm not blushing. I feel kind of weird because we, you know...did it, in here when she wasn't home...

"My point exactly, it shouldn't be this messy." Elena scolds, picking up some wrappers off the ground and throwing them away.

I groan and stand up, stretching. "What do you want Lena? I highly doubt you came in here to pick up my shit."

Elena rolls her eyes, and tosses me my phone. I catch it easily giving her a quizzical look. "Damon has texted you like 500 hundred times, I came up here to get you. Stefan and Damon want us to come over." Elena explains, as I wince at all the texts Damon sent me. The last few have just been exclamation marks.

"Do I have to go? I was planning a lazy day." I whine, plopping back down on the bed. Yup, I'm planning on skipping school for like the hundredth time.

"Get dressed, we leave in 20." Elena commands, before walking out of my room. I watch her walk out, glaring at her back. I don't want to get dressed, and I certainly don't want to go out. I was planning on reading all day.

But the thing that gets me out of bed is curiosity, what could be so important that they want Elena and I to get over there immeaditly?

I guess I'll find out soon enough.

----------------

Elena and I stand in front of the Salvatore's door, waiting to be let in. They actually locked it for once. I know, it's a miracle. But I think it is a once in a life time occurrence.

I look up immeaditly when I hear the door opening and lock gazes with Damon. "Hello Elena, Ari." Damon smirks, opening the door wider for us to walk in.

"Where is Stefan?" Elena asks, wanting to get away from Damon and I. She has trouble being around us these days. How does she think I feel when I'm around her and Stefan?

"Right this way." Damon answers, as Elena walks in. I take a hesitant step in, nervous. But I have no idea what I am nervous about.

"Hey." I mumble when Damon moves his gaze to me.

Damon smiles and wraps his arm around my waist. "Come on, I think you'll want to hear this." he leads me to where Elena is and my jaw drops at what I see. Rose is standing behind Stefan with an awkward smile on her face. I look up at Damon with a furious expression.

"Why is she here?! She did kidnap Elena and I, you know!" I seethe, pulling away from him and glaring at Rose. I may like her slightly but that doesn't excuse what she did to Elena and I.

"She can explain things, things we need to know." Stefan answers, gripping Elena's shaking hand. I look between everyone, amazed at how they're okay with this.

"Fine, but if she pisses me off, I'm going to stab her." I shrug, sending Rose an innocent glance.

"I wouldn't expect anything less Arianna." Rose smiles, seeming amused.

"It's Aria." I say, so done with her calling me by my full name. It's annoying. It's too long and it sounds terrible, I just hate it.

"Come on, lets go talk in the living room." Stefan states, Rose and Elena following him immeaditly. Damon starts to go but when he sees that I'm not moving, he stops in his tracks.

"Aria, don't be so stubborn. We need to hear what she has to say." Damon sighs, walking into the living room. I don't follow him, I just stand there, deciding what I should do. But after a few moments curiosity gets the better of me and I head into the living room.

Elena is sitting very stiffly on the couch while Stefan and Damon are both standing. I walk over next to Damon and interlace my fingers with his, having a feeling the information Rose is going to be telling us, is going to be very sucky.

"Okay, so you have to understand, I only know what I've picked up over the years. And I don't know what's true and what's not true, that's the problem with all this vampire crap. But Klaus, I know, is real." Rose explains, pacing in front of us like she is a college professor giving his lesson.

"Who is he?" Elena questions.

"He's one of the originals, he's a legend." Damon smirks slightly, giving a small shrug.

"One of the first generations of vampires." Stefan pipes in, looking between Elena and I.

"So he's another Elijah then?" I wince, I do not want another Elijah. Elijah may have been hot but he was scary. Very scary.

"No, Elijah was the Easter Bunny compared to Klaus. He's a foot-solider, Klaus is the real deal." Rose states, causing Damon to roll his eyes. Oh...well...I thought Elijah was bad...

"Klaus is known to be the oldest." Stefan shrugs, giving us some more details. Wonderful, this old ass vampire is the oldest ass vampire.

"So, if I heard you guys correctly, the oldest vampire in history is coming after Elena and I?" I frown, sharing a worried look with Elena.

Rose say, "Yes." at the same time Stefan says, "No."

"What they're saying is, I mean, if what she is saying is true..." Damon walks over to Rose, dragging me with him.

"It is." Rose confirms, glaring at Damon.

"...and she's not just saying this so I don't kill you..." Damon glares back at Rose, challenging her.

"I'm not." Rose answers.

"...then a solid, maybe." Damon nods, looking slightly worried that a macho vamp is coming to kill me.

"Look, Elijah is dead right? So that means no one else knows that you two exist." Stefan reassures, going to sit by Elena.

"That you know of." Rose interrupts, not helping at all.

"That's not helping." Damon sighs, voicing my thoughts.

"I've never even met anyone who's laid eyes on him. We're talking centuries of truth mixed with fiction." Stefan points out, not wanting Rose to scare Elena and I. Too late, we're already scared. "We don't know he's real, for all we know he could just be some bedtime story."

"He's real! And he doesn't give up, if he wants something, he gets it. If you aren't afraid of Klaus, you're an idiot." Rose says, looking directly at me. I guess I should be honored she thinks I'm smarter than my sister.

"We're shaking, you made your point. Thank you, very much." I glare, not liking how Rose upset Elena. Elena suddenly stands up, and walks over to me, pulling me away from Damon.

"Where are you guys going?" Stefan asks, and I would like to here the answer.

"School, we're late." Elena answers, with a cold expression.

I look at her in horror, "We still go to school?"

"Yes, and we're going now." Elena demands, trying to convey some message in her eyes. I don't think we're going to school...

"Here, I'll come with you guys." Stefan says but I immeaditly turn him down.

"It's okay Stef, we know the way." I smile, before looking past him at Damon. "See ya later Damon!" I call out as Elena pulls me towards the door. I don't know if Damon replies because Elena is in a hurry to get out of here.

"Where are we going Elena?" I whisper, knowing she wouldn't want the vampires in there to hear us.

"To get answers."

------------------

"Tell everyone we weren't feeling well and we went home. It was kind of like a twin sickness thing. Or you could just tell them Lena was sick and I ditched. That sounds more accurate." I shrug, looking over at a frowning Caroline. Elena is hauling the big duffle bag through the woods, huffing and puffing. Glad I don't need to carry that.

"I can't believe I am agreeing to this, I'm a terrible liar!" Caroline argues, glaring at me.

"Just keep Stefan busy, Elena doesn't want him to know what we're up too. I don't think Damon will be poking his nose around anywhere." I say, giving Caroline a small smile.

"I'm even worse at duplicity, and you know this." Caroline sighs.

"You managed to keep Elena occupied when Katherine paid her boyfriend a visit." I point out, and see Elena roll her eyes. I think she is still slightly pissed about that.

"Yeah, because she threatened me." Caroline says.

I smirk, "Do I need to threaten you Caroline Forbes?"

"No, I'm not saying you should use that as a tactic Aria. It's just...Stefan will see right through me." Caroline worries, stopping and making me stop with her. Elena just keeps on walking, heading down into the tomb.

"Caroline, as my best friend, do you promise? Or not?" I question, my expression turning serious.

"You had to break out the best friend code..." Caroline mutters, glaring at me. I give a look and she sighs, "Okay, I promise."

"Great." I grin, and starting heading down into the tomb. I think by now you know what we're doing, if not, you still have time to figure it out.

"Why don't you guys want Stefan and Damon to know?" Caroline asks, following me down into the tomb. Don't worry, she won't get stuck. There's still a door there and everything.

"Because they would never be okay with us doing this. Believe it or not Caroline, Damon actually does care about my safety." I tease, jumping over the last step.

We walk into the tomb, spotting Elena. She set the bag down on the ground and she seems to be relived to get that wait off her. "Are you sure you guys want to do this?" Caroline repeats.

"Yes, for sure. She's the only one who knows the truth about Klaus. How to stop him..." Elena answers, seeming sure of herself. I'm not so sure but I would never let her come down here alone.

"You're asking for the truth from someone who's never probably given it!" Caroline yells before calming herself by taking a deep breath. "Are you sure you want to do this?"

"Yes, we're sure Caroline, now please, open the damn door. I will start using Katherine's tactics if you don't." I warn, getting fed up with waiting. I don't want to be down here longer than I have to.

Caroline looks between Elena and I for a few seconds, before walking over to the door. Using her vampire strength, she picks up the heavy wooden door, moving it to the side. I look curiously into the tomb but can only see black.

"Oh Kathy!" I call out in a sing song voice, that probably sounds creepy. I wait for her to come, but I still don't see anything.

"We'll be okay from here." Elena tells Caroline, turning around to face her. Caroline is about to reply but a noise from the tomb draws our attention. Katherine limps over to the doorframe, practically collapsing when she gets there. God, she looks terrible. It almost looks like she is aging. I guess she is, since she hasn't had blood in a while. She's mummifying.

"Ugh, you look terrible Katherine." I comment, causing her to glare at me.

"Hello Arianna, great to see you too. Oh and hello Elena." Katherine greets, in a scratchy old person voice that does not suit her. "Come to watch me wither away?"

I nod my head, "Yes, I did come to watch you rot. Damn, I forgot the popcorn." I smirk, glaring at her.

She rolls her eyes, "Goodbye Caroline." she commands.

When Caroline hesitates, Elena sighs, turning around. "As long as we stay on this side of the door, she can't hurt us." Caroline nods stiffly, before heading up the way we came.

"Does Stefan and Damon know you guys are here?" Katherine questions, trying to get under our skin.

"We brought you some things." Elena tells her, opening up the big duffle bag.

"You came to bribe me? What is it you want?" Katherine demands, looking curious.

"We want you to tell us about Klaus." I say, throwing a blanket down on the ground. I am not sitting on the dirty ground, no, no, no.

Katherine smirks, her eyes lighting up. "You've been busy."

Elena rolls her eyes, taking out a large, old book from the bag. "We also brought you this, it's your family history. It says in here that the family line ended with you, obviously that's not true."

"You think that since you brought me some family keepsake that I would open up?" Katherine questions, glaring at Elena.

"No, that's why we brought this." I grin, taking out a bottle of blood. Katherine tries to run out of the tomb to get it but the barrier stop her. She has a crazed, hungry look in her eyes. I guess she is a little hungry. "Ah, you don't look so good Kathy. How long before you start to mummify? 10? 20 years? That must hurt like a bitch."

Katherine stares at me a moment before slowly sliding down the wall. I open up the bottle, pouring a drop of blood into the cup we brought. I pick up the stick beside me and push the cup towards Katherine. She takes the cup right away, drowning it quickly. "You have the Petrova fire." Katherine states, and I think she is referring to just me.

"More blood?" Elena asks, crouching down next to me. Katherine sets the cup down, and I take it back, using the stick. I hand the cup and the stick to Elena, done serving Katherine.

"It's a long story Klaus and I. It goes all the way back to England 1492, after I left Bulgaria. Or...was thrown out." Katherine shrugs, drowning another cup of blood.

"Thrown out?" Elena repeats, sounding curious.

"My family, your guys true ancestors...they disowned me. My indiscretions were not tolerated at that time. I had a baby out of wedlock. The shame." Katherine explains, and I can't help but feel a little sympathy for her. I have a feeling by the time we're done talking, I might not hate her so much.

"It was kept secret?" Elena confirms.

Katherine nods, "My baby was given away, I was banished to England. I had to learn to adjust, so I quickly became English. It was there that I caught the eye of a nobleman named Klaus. I was taken with him at first, until I found out what he was and what we wanted from me. Then I ran like hell." Katherine winces.

"I ran as hard as I can, but running in a corset dress is not easy. I eventually lost my footing, and fell into a small ditch. Thankfully it hid me from Elijah and his men. Klaus sent them after me, he couldn't do the dirty work himself. He told me the normal stuff, it's pointless to run, Klaus will find me, blah, blah, blah. I heard another voice speak and the footsteps ran off. I thought they were gone, and I was safe. I stood up prepared to run again, but Trevor appeared in front of me.

I knew he was a vampire, but I considered him a friend. He was in love with me." Katherine smile bitterly. Ah, that's how Trevor betrayed Elijah. "He told me to run to a cottage, that I would be safe there. So I started running again, running for my life."

"So what did Klaus want exactly? He was going through a lot of trouble o find you." I say, giving Katherine another shot of blood.

"The same thing he'll want from Elena. He wants to break the curse. Don't worry Aria, you're needed also." Katherine smirks.

"He has to sacrifice the Petrova doppleganger." Elena whispers, looking slightly scared.

"He wanted to drain every, single, drop of blood from my body." Katherine states, and Elena's fear deepens instantly.

"What does he want from me though? My blood also?" I question.

"I honestly don't know." Katherine states honestly, and I can't help the fear that starts to creep up my spine. If Katherine doesn't know, I have a bad feeling that whatever Klaus wants me for, is worse than having blood drained. And that's really bad.

"What does the Petrova bloodline have to do with Klaus?" Elena demands, trying to shift the course of the conversation. Neither of us like hearing about our deaths. It's not the most exciting subject.

"It's really tedious but, the curse was bound by the sacrifice of Petrova blood. Witches are crafty with there spells. The doppleganger was created as a way to undo the spell. Once the doppleganger reappears, the curse can be broken." Katherine explains, referring to only Elena. I'm special, I don't apply to the normal rules.

"So you ran? Before he killed you?" Elena asks, brining the conversation back to Klaus and Katherine.

Katherine rolls her eyes. "Something like that. I continued to run, I ran almost all night before I found the cottage Trevor has told me about. When I finally found it, the women didn't want to let me in. No strangers allowed policy in those woods, especially for a runaway girl. But another women living in the cottage, was friends with Trevor and let me in. Her name was Rose." Elena and I share a look, now understanding what happened with Rose and Trevor. I think I can guess what they did to piss of Elijah.

"I was foolish, and too trusting back then." Katherine carries on, sounding bitter. "I showed her the moonstone, I had stolen it from Klaus. She got sacred, she was worried Klaus would kill her and Trevor. She locked me away in the room at the cottage. She was going to bring me back to Klaus at nightfall. She was going to deliver me to my death."

"But Rose never did end up taking you back to Klaus, did she?" I question.

"No, but not because she had a change of heart." Katherine answers, "She came barging into my room at nightfall, to wrap me up and deliver me to Klaus. I had other plans though. I would not go back to Klaus. I found a blade in the room, and I stabbed myself with it. I was planning on bleeding out, dying before Klaus could kill me. Unfortunately Rose noticed, and forced her blood down my throat.

It healed me, ruining any chance I had. Trevor walked in at that exact moment, getting Rose out of the room. The ropes were still lying on the bed, so I did what I had to do. I tied the rope to the ceiling and to my neck, jumping off the bed. I died instantly, my neck snapped."

"You killed yourself?" I exclaim horrified. Is Klaus that bad? Is he truly that evil?

"Klaus needed a human doppleganger, as a vampire I was no longer any use to him." Katherine states.

"But that didn't really help, did it? You were, are, still Klaus' bitch. You've been running from him so long, always scared. He doesn't even need to find you to dish out his revenge, you're always scared. He keeps you from living, I may not know him but I think that makes him happy." I say, glaring at Katherine.

Katherine smiles at me, actually smiles. "It sounds like you actually care if I'm miserable Aria." The smile soon fades though. "Living out of a suitcase is still better than having your blood spilled all over some stupid rock."

Elena and I both share an uneasy look, not knowing what we should do. "What's wrong girls? Afraid I'm right? You two don't want to die do you? Well, there's another way out." Katherine scratches her wrist, hard enough to draw blood. Turning into a vampire is not an option...is it? "You two better hurry, your opportunity is going...going...and gone." Katherine smirks. "I made the other choice."

"Keep going, finish the story. If not you don't get your blood." I warn.

She rolls her eyes, "I woke up, alive but still kind of dead. That's how it feels as a vampire, you know? Your alive but dead on the inside, it's kind of sucky but awesome at the same time. Anyways, Trevor was mad, he said he could have
