I look over at Caroline horrified, then back to the store. She can't make me do this. I knew if I lost the bet there would be a punishment but I didn't know it would be this bad.

"Care, please, show some mercy." I beg, horrified at what she is going to make me do.

"Sorry, you lost the bet so there's nothing I can do Aria. Even Damon agreed it was fair." Caroline shrugs with a slight smirk on her face.

"How could you do this to me" I pout. Okay, let's try the guilt treatment. Maybe that'll work.

"So I was thinking a full manicure and pedicure? Maybe even a nice haircut?" Caroline grins, starting to head towards the store.

"I'm not going in, you can't make me." I glare, planting my feet. I will not go in that shop.

"Oh really? You're not wearing the bracelet Stefan gave you and I know you don't drink vervain so... do I really need to fill in the details Aria." Caroline smirks, knowing she has won. I look at her pleadingly not wanting to go into that dreadful shop. "Come on Aria, a new look will be good for you. You changed your clothing style so change everything. I'll let you have free-rain but you have to do something." Caroline sighs.

"Remember what I did in 9th grade?" I smirk suddenly liking the idea of changing it up a little.

Caroline's head snaps toward me, a grin on her face. "Oh my God, yes! Arianna Gilbert, you will have Damon Salvatore falling at your heels if you do that look again."

"Oh but Caroline Forbes, he's already falling at my feet." I toss my hair over my shoulder to look even more bitchy and head inside the shop.

Time for a little make over.

---------------

"Holy shit, Aria! You look..." Caroline trails off, with a ginormous grin on her face. We also went to the only good clothes store in Mystic Falls. So I got some new clothes also.

"Sexy? Hot? Incredibly hot and sexy?" I smirk, looking at myself in the mirror. The great thing is, you can now tell the difference between Katherine and I. HAHA, bitches!

"Elena is so not going to like this." Caroline laughs, looking me up and down.

I shrug, "So? I'm 16, I can pick how I look."

"What about Jenna? Won't she be mad?" Caroline questions.

I roll my eyes, "Care, it's fine. I'm my own person. Well...at least on the inside."

"Well, you'll look damn sexy for the historical thingy today." Caroline smirks causing me to laugh. Care loves parties and gatherings just not when they have to do with anything educational. Apparently history is educational or something.

"I always look my best for historical thingys Caroline." I say in a duh tone. Caroline rolls her eyes and laughs a little. It's good that I'm out with her. Elena told me everything going on. Caroline was forced to spy on Stefan and Elena for Katherine. It's a really long story that I don't want to tell. Apparently Caroline is still spying for Katherine though. But Caroline doesn't know that we know about her job for Katherine though.

"I'll go start the car, admire yourself for a few more seconds." Caroline says before leaving me alone in the room. I kind of outdid myself this time. I'm guessing you guys want to know what I did. I'll tell you since I'm so proud.

I painted my nails black, before you say anything let me explain myself. Caroline forced me to get them done and I wasn't getting some bright, girly color so I picked black. Emo, I know...but I had no choice. I also did something that Jenna and Elena will most likely kill me for. It's just that they looked cute. I only got a few highlights so it's not like I dyed my whole head. Okay, I'm gonna say it...I got dark red highlights. It sounds bad, I know, but it actually looks really hot, you're gonna have to trust me. Which I know you do so, everything's good.

I'm wearing a nice white tank top that looks quite good on me, just saying. I'm wearing black skinny jeans that have rips in them, with black high heeled shoes. There kind of like sandals high heels in a way. Not like the formal ones but you know, the sexyish ones. Casual ones, I guess you could say.

So overall I look a lot better than I use too and Katherine can't pretend to be me anymore. She'll have to fake being Elena and I will actually see through her next time she tries something.

Now, time to go show off my new look to some people. Well...people meaning Damon.

-------------

"Aria, hey wait up!" Mason yells, running over to me. I stop and wince, knowing this can't be good. Damon told me about his failed attempt to kill Mason Lockwood. Apparently Mason wasn't too happy about someone trying to murder him and now wants revenge on Damon. Who would have guessed?

I turn around and give him a bored look, "What do you want Mason?"

He gives me a deadly glare that makes me a little nervous inside, "Your boyfriend tried to kill me last night. He actually thought silver worked on werewolves." Mason rolls his eyes at the not so absurd idea.

"Werewolves? What is this, Twilight?" I question sounding amused.

"Don't play innocent. I know you know about vampires and werewolves." Mason sighs.

"You're crazy." I argue starting to walk away but he grabs my arm. I gasp at his strength and wince a little at how hard he is holding me. "Let go or else I will scream." I warn glaring at him.

"Oh I don't think you'll scream, if you do I'll tell everyone about the Salvatore brothers." Mason smirks. Damn it.

"What do you want?" I question, my arm throbbing from how hard he's holding it. Can't he just let me go? I'm not going to run away, I won't risk Damon or Stefan being exposed.

"Your boyfriend tried to kill me so maybe I'll just rough his girl up a little bit. Teach him a lesson to leave me the hell alone." Mason growls a dangerous glint in his eyes. Rough his girl up? Seriously? That's the best he could come up with?

"Are you an idiot? Hurting me will just make Damon want to kill you more than he already wants to. But now I know why you're Tyler's uncle, you like to rough people up. You wanted to know why Tyler and I broke up, well, I'll tell you. He hit me." I glare at him, so fed up with this werewolf asshole.

"It's not Tyler's fault, it's the werewolf curse, it makes us more aggressive than other people. It's in our blood." Mason defends trying to redeem his nephew. I already forgave him, you dumb-ass werewolf.

"I don't think so, I think abusiveness just runs in your blood." I seethe before I feel a sharp pain on my cheek. From the force, I fall to the ground, scraping my elbow in the process. I gasp and bring my hand up to my cheek. He just slapped me. Just like Tyler. I look up at him in horror, terrified at what he just did.

"I-I didn't-" Mason starts to say but I cut him off.

"Don't say you didn't mean it because how could you have not? Did your arm just have a spasm and slap me? I don't think so. Now I'll repeat what I said before, stay the hell away from me you asshole!" I yell standing up and practically sprinting away from him. I just need to get away from him. He actually does scare me a little bit.

Apparently I'm not paying attention where I'm walking because I walk straight into Damon. Shit! If he sees my face, or the bruise on my arm, he'll kill Mason. Right here and now probably. I look down at the ground, hiding my face from him. "I've been looking for you everywhere, we were supposed to meet 20 minutes ago. Where have you been? And is that red in your hair?" Damon questions sounding slightly amused.

"Yeah, I got highlights earlier. Care wanted me to get a makeover." I shrug, avoiding his first question and avoiding looking at him.

"Is that blood?" Damon frowns, looking at my elbow. Damn, I forgot about my elbow.

"Yeah...I tripped and fell, it's these new heels." I laugh nervously, I really don't want Damon finding out what Mason did. It'll only cause more trouble.

"Bull, you always wear heels, plus you're not that clumsy. What happened?" Damon demands but I don't dare look up at him. "Hey, look at me." Damon forces my chin up and I see raw anger fill his eyes when he sees my cheek. "Who the hell did this?!"

"No one." I mumble, knowing that's the stupidest thing to say.

"Damn it, Aria! Tell me who did this so I can rip their throat out!" Damon growls, the anger practically radiating off him.

"That's the reason I'm not telling you, Damon. You're going to do something stupid." I sigh, pleading with my eyes for him to just drop it.

"It was Mason, wasn't it? He wanted to get back at me for trying to kill him?" Damon questions, insightful as always. My silence is all the answer Damon needs. "He's dead, that werewolf son of a bitch is dead. I'm going to rip his heart out. What else did he do to you?" Damon's eyes roam over my body and they practically turn red when they see the bruise on my arm. I don't know how he didn't notice it before. I am wearing a tank top after all. "He's dead." Damon growls starting to leave toward the direction I came.

"Damon, no! Please, don't do this!" I beg, putting my hands on his chest. I want Mason dead but I don't want Damon doing anything stupid and getting exposed.

"I'm not going to let him get away with hurting you, Aria." Damon argues, his body shaking with anger.

"I'm not asking you to forgive him. I'm asking you to drop it, just for the rest of the day or at least till we're away from such a public place. Please Damon, just wait." He doesn't look like he's going to change his mind so I do the only thing I can, I lean up and kiss him. He tries to pull away knowing what I'm doing but I just pull him closer. I love him and I'm not going to let him get himself killed.

When we finally pull away, I look at those beautiful blue eyes, pleading with them. "Please Damon, just for a little while."

"Damn the effect you have on me, Arianna Gilbert." Damon sighs and I know he's finally given in.

I smile and wrap my arms around him. "Thank you, I mean it."

"Only for a day, today will just be for plotting my revenge." Damon smiles cruelly, causing me to roll my eyes.

"Stop trying to be all macho and scary." I tease.

"But I am macho and scary, I don't need to try." Damon smirks causing me to laugh.

"Aria?" I pull away from Damon and look at my worried sister. "Are you alright?"

"Well, I'm going to go talk to Stefan. See ya later Ari." Damon states before leaving us alone. I watch him walk away before turning back to my sister.

"I don't really know, Lena. Too much shit has been happening for me to be alight. How am I supposed to be alright when I have a 500 year old vampire out to get me and an aggressive werewolf wanting to beat me up. Oh and to top it all off, I'm fighting with my twin sister. So actually, I'm not alright Elena. I'm not." I shake my head, trying hard not to cry.

"I'm sorry Aria, but as much as I would like to help you with the first two, I can't. But I can do something about the third." Elena takes a deep breath, mentally preparing for her speech...okay then. "If Damon makes you happy, then I support you two. I know that you haven't had anyone who makes you happy in a long time so I don't want to ruin things with you. I was being selfish and a bitch. So for that I'm so sorry." Elena smiles, causing me to smile also.

"I think I was being a bigger bitch, so I'm sorry also. I even got red highlights to piss you off." I laugh.

"I was going to yell at you about that, but, instead I'll just force you to move back to our house." Elena almost smirks, she got as close as she can get to smirking.

"Oh and what if I say no?" I challenge. "Maybe I like living with my boyfriend."

"Oh I'll just get Jenna to drag you back to our house." Elena smiles innocently causing me to laugh. She laughs with me and it feels good to laugh with her again. "Hey, I need your help with something." Elena states suddenly getting serious.

"Sure, what is it?" I ask, not hesitating at all. Elena looks at me with a mischievous glint in her eyes. Alright...maybe I shouldn't have said yes.

---------------

I sit next to Elena, looking at the beautiful scenery around us. I may not like small Mystic Falls very much but I think it beats the city for scenery. And community gatherings. And things that live inside of it that aren't human...

Neither Elena or I looks up when Caroline comes down and sits next to us. "You okay?" Caroline asks.

"No." Elena and I answer at the same time. I'm pretty sure she's talking to Elena but hey, if I want to talk, then I'm talking.

"You know I wasn't talking to you Aria, so buzz out." Caroline glares at me and I shrug, holding up my hands in innocence. Not like Mason Lockwood just slapped me or anything but thanks for the concern best friend. I'm glad that you're worried about the bruise on my face. She looks back over at Elena with a gentle look on her face, "Maybe it's for the best."

"It's not for the best Caroline, none of this is for the best!" Elena argues, glaring at Caroline. I think Elena and Care are talking about Elena's fake fighting with Stefan. I think. "I'm sorry, okay? I don't mean to take it all out on you. You're just being a good friend." Elena is giving her the guilt treatment, Caroline's gonna crack, I know it.

"No I'm not, I'm not being a good friend at all." Caroline admits, looking ultra guilty. Told you she would crack. It looks like Caroline is about to explain but she suddenly looks up. "Is she leaving? Where is my Mom going?" Caroline questions standing up.

Caroline goes into the forest so none can see her and uses her vampire speed to get halfway there. I look over at Elena, "We're going to have to run to catch up to her, aren't we?" I frown, dreading her answer. Elena gives me a guilty smile and nods her head. "Well then, race you there. Just remember my PE mark was my only mark ever to be higher than yours." I smirk, standing up quickly and sprinting to where Caroline and her Mom are.

I have to make sure I don't kill myself because I'm wearing heels while sprinting. Good thing that I'm pro at wearing heels or else I would be face down on the ground right now.

Even in heels I beat Elena to Caroline, which I'm very proud about. I'll have to brag later. I get to Caroline right as her Mom walks away. "What's going on?" I ask, only mildly curious.

"I don't know, something's up." Caroline answers her hands crossed over her chest. We all watch her Mom walk up the street and I can't help but get a bad feeling.

Caroline is right, something is going on and I don't think it's good.

-------------

I trudge after Caroline and Elena as they climb up the freaking hill. Yes, they are climbing a freaking hill. But the good thing is, Elena had an extra pair of Converse in her car and she gave them to me to wear. So at least I'm not wearing heels anymore.

You might be wondering why were climbing up a hill, I wish I knew. We're just following Caroline up a hill, like a family of ducks or something. "Why are we climbing a freaking hill? I would rather be like down where everyone else is, drinking that nice, refreshing lemonade they have. Have you guys tried it? It's some pretty good stuff." I say, maybe hoping to get Caroline to stop climbing. I've already ran today, I don't need this extra exercise.

"I need to be able to hear better." Caroline answers as we finally get to flat ground.

"Hear what?" Elena questions.

"Something's wrong guys." Caroline whispers almost to herself. She closes her eyes, and tries focusing on the sounds, I'm guessing.

"Caroline-" Elena starts to say but Caroline shushes her. Yeah Elena, the vampire needs her concentration to use her super hearing. How could you not have known?

Caroline listens for a few moments before she suddenly spins in the direction of the forest. "Oh God." she mumbles.

"That doesn't sound good, what's wrong?" I question nervously.

Caroline looks over at me for a split second before answering, "Stefan and Damon" Caroline takes off running into the forest. I look over at Elena before following Caroline into the forest. Thankfully Caroline isn't using her vampire speed so I can keep up with her. Damon and Stefan better be alright, they better not have done anything stupid.

We run for about 10 minutes until Caroline abruptly stops. Elena and I both skid to a halt next to her. "What is it?" Elena asks.

"They've been here." she answers bending down and picking up a leaf. She sets it down and her finger come away red with blood. Crap, that's not good. A twig snaps and we all look up, alert.

"What are you three doing out here?" questions an all to familiar voice.

I spin around on Mason, seething. "I could ask you the same question dickhead. But I'm pretty sure I know the answer, and if it is what I think it is, you're dead werewolf boy."

"You're tough, I'll give you that." Mason says, taking a few steps towards us.

"Where are they?" I glare.

"What your boyfriend? And your sisters boyfriend? I'll let your friend over there sniff them out." Mason gestures to Caroline, standing cautiously behind us. "Does your mother know what you are?" Caroline doesn't answer and Mason smirks. "I would be happy to tell her." Caroline starts to go at him but he suddenly puts me in a chokehold. I swear and try to get away but he's strong.

"Don't be stupid, necks snap easy around here. Plus, I don't like her very much." Mason warns causing anger to flare up. He may be super hot but he is super annoying.

"I can take you." Caroline threatens.

"You wanna bet?" Mason challenges.

"Yeah, I do." I answer bringing back my foot and kicking him as hard as I can in the shin. He lets go of me, surprised and Caroline uses her vampire moves, pinning him by the throat against a tree.

"Told ya." Caroline smirks before kneeing him where the sun don't shine. And let me tell you, she kneed him hard. He groans and falls to the ground in pain. Caroline kicks him and he goes flying into a tree, I'm pretty sure I hear his back crack. That's going to sting.

Mason falls to the ground, not getting back up. I look at Caroline with a giant grin on my face. "God, I'm so proud of you right now."

Caroline looks smug for a second before it disappears, "Lets go." she takes off again and we follow her. I'm so glad she taught Mason a lesson. I wish I could have but I'm not as strong. As least I got a good kick in.

Again we run for a while before Caroline abruptly stops with no warning at all. Elena and I have to skid again and I almost go face first into a tree. Not very nice Care.

It looks like were in front of some cellar or basement. There are stairs leading down and it looks really creepy. Caroline gasps and puts her hand over her mouth, she looks horrified.

"Caroline, what's wrong?" Elena questions, looking down the stairs worried.

"My Mom...she's killing them." Caroline states, not believing that her Mom could do something like that.

"No she's not." I say before taking off the down the stairs. Elena tries to follow me but Caroline stops her. Good thing I acted fast so Caroline couldn't stop me. No one is going to kill my boyfriend or Stefan.

Once I get to the bottom of the stairs, I look around for something to defend myself. I spot a wooden plank on the ground, and pick it up. They have guns, I have a wooden plank... Yup, I'm screwed.

I open the door to the cellar and wince as it creeks loud enough for everyone to hear. I hear
