"Aria! Damon is here!" Jenna yells. I sigh and put down my sandwich, can't he show up after I eat? I walk out of the kitchen and over to the front door. Jenna looks over at me suspicious but leaves and heads up stairs.
"What do you want?" I grumble, still grouchy because I only woke up like 30 minutes ago.
"And hello to you too Ari." Damon smirks.
"It's morning Damon, I'm grumpy. Get to the point." I sigh.
"Fine. You're coming to my house because we're discussing with my brother and your sister how to get Katherine out. I want to get her out as quick as possible so we can't waste anytime." Damon says. In my head I imagine myself staking Katherine but I quickly push it away. I should not feel jealous of her.
"I'll go but you're gonna have to wait till I eat. I'm starving." I answer.
"I have a hamburger in the car." Damon smiles.
"Yes! You know me so well. Let's go." I grin, leaning over and grabbing my bag. "See ya Jenna, be back in a while!" I call out before slamming the door shut. I practically sprint to Damon's car and grab the hamburger. Just as he finally gets over to the car, I have already eaten three big bites.
"Aria, that is not very ladylike." Damon smirks as I take gigantic bites of my hamburger.
"Screw you." I say but I don't think he understands me because my mouth is full of food.
"What was that?" Damon teases. I roll my eyes and start searching his radio stations. I scream excitedly when I hear Counting Stars by One Republic come on. I love this song!
"OMG! This is the best song ever!" I yell turning it up so loud I think people in space could hear it. Damon groans and turns it down.
"Remember I have sensitive hearing so it's really, really loud for me." Damon says wincing a little.
"Fine." I sigh and turn it down to a reasonable volume.
"Doesn't matter now, we're here." Damon turns off the car interrupting my jam. How could he? I get out of the car and run full speed at him trying to tackle him. I jump on his back, hoping he'll fall over but he just catches me. "Nice try." he smirks.
"I may not have tackled you but now at least I get a piggy back ride." I grin.
"No." he groans.
I laugh, "Yes now off to Stefan and Elena." for a second I think Damon is just going to throw me off but after a moment he starts walking. I smirk and am about to say something but suddenly I feel a bunch of wind, almost causing me to fall off. I close my eyes, scared and hope I don't die. I hear Damon laugh and I open my eyes. We're standing in front of Stefan's room. He used his vampire speed while I was on his back!
"Damon I could have died!" I yell still shocked from the speed.
"No you couldn't have because I won't drop you." Damon smiles. I smack the back of his head and jump off.
"Well take away the dying part and that was actually pretty fun." I smile. Damon does the ET thing and smirks.
"I knew you'd like it Ari." he opens the door just walking in without knocking. I follow in not thinking anything about it but when I look and see Stefan and Elena in bed, I want to puke. I gasp and go hide behind Damon not wanting to see. I feel him laughing and he pushes me away.
"Eew, I can't believe I am seeing my sister after the night she got lucky." I fake puke and glare at Damon for bringing me here. Damon just rolls his eyes and sits down at the edge of Stefan's bed. I really don't want to be here.
"Rise and shine, sleepy heads." Damon smirks.
Elena and Stefan sit up quickly pulling the sheets up, "Damon, Aria, what are you doing?!" Elena asks turning bright red.
"I don't want to be here and see you two practically naked but Damon is forcing me." I sigh and avoid eye contact with Stefan.
"Oh stop being smudy." Damon rolls his eyes. Smudy? That's not even a word.
"Seriously get out of here." Stefan says looking at Damon and I. Trust me, I want to.
"If I see something I haven't seen before, I'll throw a dollar at it." Damon says. Elena and I both stare at him wide eyed while Stefan just rolls his eyes. "Listen we have some very important business to discuss."
"And it has to be right now?" Elena glares at him.
"We have lots to do now that were all friends and working toward a common goal." Damon smirks standing up. "So in order to open up the tomb we need the journal, to get the grimoire , to undo the spell. So first things first since you are Elena Gilbert." Damon annunciates Gilbert, "You are on journal duty."
"Since when am I helping?" Elena questions.
"Well Stefan's helping and you've taken up residence in his bed so......ergo." Damon smirks. I hold in the urge to puke once again.
"You don't have to do anything you don't want to do." Stefan tells her.
"I'll look for it today." Elena nods, laying back down.
"Good." Damon answers.
"How do we know that this journal will hold the location of the grimoire? Are we really gonna take the word of this vampire? He seemed like a dimwit." Stefan says causing me to laugh.
"In Lou of any other options." Damon glares.
"Okay, what exactly is a grimoire anyway?" I ask.
"It's a witches cookbook." Damon sighs.
"Every spell that a witch cast is unique onto it self. So, every witch will document there work." Stefan explains to Elena and I.
"Yeah, a cookbook." Damon smirks.
"So, what about our mystery vampire? Dimwit obviously wasn't working alone so, who's ever out there knows who we are." Stefan frowns.
"And I don't like that disadvantage so...chop, chop!" Damon claps his hands together. "Aria with me." Damon says, I shrug and start to follow him out of the room. "You know I really like this whole group, foursome, team thing. It's got a little of a ring to it. Don't screw it up." Damon chimes before leaving the room. Without looking at Elena and Stefan, I follow Damon out the door.
"So...what are we doing?" I ask Damon as we walk down the stairs.
"Nothing, we can't do anything until Elena gets the journal." Damon shrugs.
"What if Elena can't get the journal?" I question. Damon spins around looking angry.
"We will get the journal." he growls.
I hold my hands up in surrender, "Alright, I was just thinking about all the possibilities."
"Well, that's not a possibility." Damon scowls.
"I'm gonna get home." I announce heading toward the front door.
"Aria, tonight I'm coming over for dinner around 6 maybe." Damon invites himself.
"Are you inviting yourself?" I tease.
"Yes I am because I need to be there when Stefan and Elena get the journal." Damon shrugs.
"Alright see ya then." I wave and step out the front door. I shiver a little in the cold weather and wish I dressed warmer. Hopefully I don't get hypothermia on the way home.
----------------------
"My father never approved of anyone I would date, which only made me want them more. Of coarse." Damon smirks looking at Jenna and I, who are just sitting on the kitchen counter drinking wine while Damon chops up vegetables. "What about you Jenna?"
"There were a few guys, Logan isn't the only loser I've dated." Jenna smiles.
"Did they ever find him? He's still missing, right?" I ask, even though I know he's dead.
"He's not missing. He's in the Bahamas working on his tan. Very entitled that one, marches to the beat of his own drum." Jenna scowls finishing the rest of his wine.
"He's a Fell, there all snooty." I say while Damon fills up Jenna's wine glass. Instead of filling up mine, he just takes it out of my hands. I glare at him but he ignores me and just continues to cut vegetables.
"Hello Elena." he says never looking up from the cutting board. Jenna and I both turn around and see Elena glaring at Damon.
"Hey, where have you been? We're cooking dinner." Jenna tells her.
"Is Stefan with you?" Damon asks her as politely as he can.
"Um...he'll be here soon." Elena says, still glaring at him.
"Dinner is practically done, lets go sit down." I say jumping off the counter and grabbing Elena's hand. She sighs but lets me drag her to the dinner table. As soon as I sit down I realize how hungry I am. Lets eat.
-----
Dinner was so amazing, I can't even describe it. Lets just say I want to kidnap Damon and force him to cook for me. Dinner was amazing but now I am stuck doing the dishes. Ugh, I really hate cleaning. I pick up the plates and head over to the dishwasher but I bump right into to Damon.
"Woah!" he smirks as he runs into me. I laugh a little and roll my eyes.
"Don't do that." I say setting the dishes, down.
"Do what?" Damon asks innocently.
"You know what, that move was deliberate." I sigh.
"Well yeah...I was deliberately trying to get to the...sink." I turn around and give him a knowing look. Nice try, Damon.
"Damon, I thought you were supposed to be some super liar." I smirk.
"Aria, I think you get that title." Elena jokes walking into the kitchen.
I playfully glare at her, "I'm hurt. Truly and utterly hurt." she rolls her eyes not believing my act.
"Speaking of Stefan, where is he? He's missing family night which I am enjoying immensely." Damon smirks looking over at Elena then turning back to the dishes. "Is it real?" Damon questions.
"Is what real?" Elena sighs.
"This new sense of brotherhood, can I trust him?" Damon asks, looking at Elena.
Elena stares at him for a moment before answering, "Yeah, you can trust him." Elena walks over to the kitchen table. Damon looks over at me and I just shrug. I highly doubt Stefan is for getting Katherine out. Damon uses his vampire speed and appears in front of Elena.
"Can I trust him?" Damon is looking into her eyes, all serious like.
"I'm wearing vervain Damon, it's not gonna work." I want to laugh at the face she thinks he's compelling her.
"I'm not compelling you. I just want you to answer me, honestly." Damon looks like a lost puppy, it's pretty cute.
"Of course." Elena says and pushes past Damon back into the kitchen. I stare at her but she avoids my gaze. She is acting awfully guilty for someone who claims she's innocent.
"There was a time I trusted him more than anyone." Damon states walking over to me.
"Trust breeds trust, you have to give it to get it." Elena says.
"Are you lecturing me?" Damon asks amused.
"Do you need to be lectured?" I tease but Damon doesn't find it funny.
"I just want her back, I'm sure you two can understand that." Damon says.
"I can understand that you'd do anything for her, yes." Elena answers.
"Then you can understand what I'll do to anyone who gets in my way." Damon threatens before walking away from us. Elena looks over at me scared but I roll my eyes.
"Elena you have nothing to worry about if you're on his side. If not then I would hide in your brick house from the big, bad wolf." I smirk and follow Damon into the living room.
"Did you just compare me to the big, bad wolf?" Damon asks amused.
"What? Would you prefer the big, bad vampire?" I tease.
"I think you mean the sexy, badass vampire." Damon smirks and does ET.
"Ugh, God you're such a flirt." I laugh. Damon is about to say something else but stops when Jer walks in. "Hey Jer, whatca doin?" I smile.
"I was gonna play Xbox but you two are here so...." he trails off obviously wanting us to leave.
"I'll play with you, I've never played before and I would love to give it a shot." Damon smirks. Jeremy shrugs and turns the Xbox on giving Damon a remote. Don't ask what game there playing because I have no idea, I hate games. No offense to all you gamers out there.
A few minutes into the game from what it looks like Damon is kicking Jeremy's butt. "I thought you said you've never played this before." Jeremy says struggling to keep up with Damon.
"I'm a fast learner, quick reflexes." Damon shrugs. Uh, that's an understatement. Jeremy's phone starts ringing and Jeremy pauses the game, checking who it is. He looks at the caller ID before hitting decline and throwing it off to the side. He grabs his remote and starts the game again.
"Who you dodging?" I smile, knowing it's probably a girl he likes.
"This girl Anna, she can be...persistent." Jeremy frowns.
"Is she hot?" Damon asks raising his eyebrows. I sigh and roll my eyes. Of course he cares about that...
"Yeah, but she can be weird." Jeremy shrugs.
"Hot trumps weird, trust me." Damon smiles causing Jeremy to laugh.
"You guys are soooo gross." I complain.
"Please Aria, you're such a hypocrite." Jeremy smiles.
"Care to elaborate?" I glare playfully, putting my hands on my hips.
"I hear you, Elena, Jenna, Caroline, and Bonnie always talking about hot guys. Who is it this month? Oh yeah, Chris Hemsworth." Jeremy rolls his eyes.
"For your information, it's Liam Hemsworth." I glare causing the boys to laugh. Ugh, they're such assholes. Don't ya think?
I hear the doorbell ring and Elena say, "That's Stefan." which causes Damon and I to go over to the door. Damon just sets his controller down frustrating Jeremy but I don't think Damon cares.
Damon and I get to the door just as Elena is opening it. Stefan looks over at Damon surprised and maybe a little bit guilty? I hope not. "Well?" Damon asks impatient.
"We'll talk outside." Stefan says. I sigh not wanting to go out in the cold but follow everyone out. As soon as the door shuts behind us Stefan starts to explain. "Someone took the journal." Stefan announces.
"Who took it?!" Damon asks outraged. "You know what it's that teacher. There's something really off about him."
"No, he doesn't know anything. Someone else got to it right before me." Stefan answers.
"Who else knew it was there?" Damon questions causing Stefan to look in the window at Jeremy. Damon sees where he is looking and starts heading to towards the door.
"No, Damon. Leave him out of it." I groan.
"Why? What's the big deal?" Damon whines, heading inside.
"Damon!" he completely ignores me and walks right over to Jeremy. He sits down on the couch next to him.
"So..I heard you found a really cool journal from back in the day. Who else did you show it to?" Damon asks barely hiding in his anger.
"Huh?" Jeremy asks not looking away from his game.
"Don't ask questions, just spill." Damon glares.
"You're kidding me right?" Jeremy smiles looking at all of us.
"Jeremy, did you tell anyone else besides Mr.Saltzman about Jonathan Gilbert's journal?" I ask starting to get inpatient.
"Why is everybody so obsessed with that thing?" Jeremy asks amused.
"Who else did you tell?" I demand.
"Just that girl Anna." Jeremy shrugs.
"The hot, weird one?" Damon clarifies.
"Yeah." Jeremy nods.
"Wait, who's Anna?" Stefan wonders.
"That's what I would like to find out." Damon says then looks back over at Jer. "How do you know her?"
"I just know her. She wants me to meet her at the Grill tonight." Jeremy tells us.
"Perfect, I'll drive. Come on." Damon says to Jeremy.
"I'm coming too." I say and follow Damon. Jeremy grabs his stuff and jogs to catch up to Damon and I. This should be good.
--------------------
I see the girl walk up to Jeremy, and frown. She is not hot, she just looks kind of weird. I sigh and look back over at Damon who has a shocked expression on his face.
"What?" I ask nervously.
"I knew her back in 1864. She was Katherine's best friends daughter." Damon explains still staring at Anna.
"Wonderful, she's a vampire." I glare at the girl not liking her already. Damon stands up taking my hand. "Where are we going? She could hurt Jeremy?"
"She won't hurt him. We're going to her hotel room or where ever she takes up residence. I think we need to have a little chat." Damon scowls. I sigh and let him lead away. I really don't think it's a good idea going to this girls house or whatever but Damon doesn't seem like he can be talked out of it.
------
I am sitting on the bed, and Damon is standing right behind the door so he can ambush her or whatever vampires do to each other. Damon made sure I was at least like 10 feet away from the door. I sit up strait when I finally hear the door start to open. As soon as she steps inside Damon wraps his hand around her throat pushing her against the wall. She is quick and wraps her hand around his neck also. For a few minutes they just stand there strangling each other.
"Okay...enough." Damon chokes out and they both remove their hands from each others necks. They both cough a few times and try to regain their breath. "Damn you're strong for a little thing."
"I was wondering how long it would take you to find me." Anna glares at him.
"How long have you been here?" Damon questions.
"I arrived during the comet, watching you screw up every chance you had to open up that tomb." Anna smirks.
"How did you know about the spell?" Damon glares and stands a little closer to me. Is he trying to protect me or something?
"I didn't say much back then which means I heard everything." she smiles like it's hilarious.
"If you've been here the whole time, why are we just crossing paths right now?" Damon asks leaving me and getting in her face. Wow, so threatening Damon.
"I like to use others to do my dirty work." she shrugs and walks past him.
"Like Logan Fell?" I question done being silent.
"Oh yeah thanks for that, little bastard shot me." Damon glares.
"Logan was an idiot." Damon makes a sound of agreement. "We slipped him some blood when he started getting all poser slayer with that compass. I needed his family's journal, I couldn't let him die." Anna shrugs.
"What did you need with the Fell journal?" I ask even though I don't even know this girl.
"I thought it contained the location of the witches spell book, I was wrong. According to the journal Honeria (Sorry I have no idea how to spell that.) gave it to Johnathan Gilbert, and according to this," Anna walks over to the desk and grabs the journal from her bag. "He gave it to your father, so now you're gonna help me find it." Anna smirks.
"Why would I help you?" Damon smirks right back at her.
"Because you and I both want that tomb open." Anna answers. She opens the journal and hands it to Damon. He looks at for a moment before wrapping it back up. "Sorry I work alone." he says, "Aria, lets go." I quickly run past Anna and over to Damon. We walk out the door and I slam it behind me. Sorry, I love dramatic effects.
"You work alone? What am I then?" I glare at him as we walk towards his car.
"You're an exception." he smiles.
"Fine." I mumble, "Do you even know where your Dad put it?"
"Yes I have a very good idea where." Damon smirks. "Hop in, we're going to a graveyard." I frown and get in the car hoping he is joking but as he speeds down the road I can tell he is actually going to the graveyard.
With the way Damon was driving we get there within 10 minutes. I see light coming from the forest and look over at Damon. "You see that right?"
"Unfortunately yes." he looks super pissed.
"What is it?" I ask.
"The light of my brothers betrayal." he smiles a bitter smile. Now that were closer I can see Stefan and Elena in some dug up grave with
