"If you don't wake up now, I will have to do something drastic. Like, I don't know, pour freezing cold water on you." Elena threatens trying to get me to get up. I glare at my twin sister, she can be so annoying at times. I sit up, throwing the covers of me.

"Happy?" I sigh.

"Much." she grins. "Now be down in 20 minutes, Bonnie's picking us up. If you're late we will leave without you." Elena tells me before leaving my room. I groan, getting out of bed. Why does school have to be so early? I walk to the bathroom to take a shower but Jeremy is in there brushing his teeth. I walk into the bathroom and shove him towards his room, he curses as he almost falls over. I roll my eyes, is he really that unmanly?

"Aria, what the hell?" he demands. I send him a innocent smile then slam the door in his face. I turn on the shower and wait for the water to get hot. After a few seconds, I undress then hop into the shower. I almost fall asleep as the hot water hits my skin but I force myself to get out and dry off. I can't be late on the first day of school.

I grab my phone and start blasting Moves Like Jagger by Maroon 5. I walk to my closet and stare at my clothes for a few moments. What should I wear? My sister is miss innocent, my brother is goth dude, and what am I? I'm the wild, sarcastic, reckless one. Well, that's what people say about me at least.

I pick out a pair of skinny jeans with a mid sleeve plaid t-shirt. I button up the blue and black plaid shirt then throw on my jeans. I put on a pair of black converse and put on my best friend's bracelet that Caroline got me for my birthday. I brush my hair quickly and smile as I see it's already curling up. Unlike my sister, I have naturally dark brown curly hair not strait like hers. I think I would die if it were straight.

I look down at my parents picture before leaving. I miss them so much. Last year they were in a car accident and died. Elena and I were in the car but somehow we survived. I set the photo down and shake my head. Today is happy, not sad. I don't want anyone's pity.

I walk downstairs, into the kitchen where Elena and Jer are currently fighting over coffee. I smirk and walk up from behind them, stealing the coffee out of their hands.

"Not cool, Aria." Jeremy glares at me but pours himself another one. Elena is about to scold me but Aunt Jenna comes running into the room panicked.

"What's up Jenna?" I frown at her panicked expression.

"I'm late for a meeting. Got to go. Be good at school today, especially you Aria." Jenna narrow s her eyes at me before rushing out the door. I put my hands up in innocence.

"Why me?" I pout causing Elena to smile.

"You know why." she laughs, grabbing her book bag. I shrug and grab my bag following her out the door.

"I am not a trouble maker." I lie. Elena looks over at me arching her eyebrow. "Okay...so maybe I am." I admit causing Elena to roll her eyes. She heads out to Bonnie who is waiting in her car on our driveway. I notice to late that Elena is heading for the front seat. I run but it's already too late. Elena is already in the front seat, making herself comfortable. I glare at her, but hop into the backseat anyways.

"What up Bon Bon?" I smirk as she pulls out of our driveway. She sighs, narrowing her eyes at me through the mirror, she really hates that nickname.

"Do you really have to call me that, Aria?" she questions annoyed even though she is smiling slightly. I nod my head and put my earbuds in. I close my eyes, deciding to rest until we get to school.

Suddenly the car stops, throwing me forward. I let out a little scream at the suddenness of it. I look at the windshield and see there is a little crack in it. Elena turns around giving me a worried look.

"Are you alright Aria?" she panics.

I nod my head, a little uneasy. "Can't be afraid of cars forever can we?" Elena smiles sadly at me, she knows what I mean.

"OMG, guys! I am so sorry. I think a crow or something hit the windshield." Bonnie exclaims.

"It's fine Bonnie, let's just get back on our way." Elena sighs. Bonnie nods and pulls back onto the road. I sigh, putting my earbuds back on.

This day already sucks.

==================

I get out of the car seeing my hellhole of a school. I try to get back in the car but Elena catches my hand giving me a warning look. I glare at her but she ignores me, walking towards the school with Bonnie. I hear Bonnie and Elena talking but I decided to tune them out. They're mean to me anyways.

As soon as I walk into the school hallway, I get a headache. What is with teenagers? Don't they know how to have civilized conversations. I see Care running towards me causing me to brace myself. Suddenly her arms wrap around me so tight I can barely breathe.

"Care." I laugh, "Can't breathe."

Caroline laughs, pulling away from me. She then sees Elena, hugging her just as tightly. "Oh my God, you guys!" Caroline squeals before a more serious look takes over her face. "How are you two?" She turns to Bonnie before we can even answer her. "How are they? Are they good?" she questions, even though we're right next to her.

"Caroline we're right here," I glare and lightly punch her shoulder. "And we're fine, thank you."

She gives us a disbelieving look. "Really?"

"Yes, much better." Elena smiles, trying to make it look believable. Care gives us a sad look and hugs us both again.

"Oh you poor things." she cries. Elena and I look at each other, sharing a look, once she pulls away. "Okay." she claps her hands together. "See you guys later." She walks away, leaving just like that.

I turn around and look at Bonnie and Elena. "No comment. I'm not even going to say anything." I smile as we walk away, heading towards our next class.

As we're walking by the office, Bonnie suddenly pulls on our arms causing us to stop.

"Hold up. Who's this?" Bonnie asks peering into the office. I look in and see a boy with a leather jacket and sunglasses on.

"All I see is back." Elena laughs.

"That's a hot back." Bonnie whispers, causing Elena and I to smile. "I'm sensing Seattle and he plays a guitar." Bonnie states seriously. I burst out laughing, Bonnie thinks she's physic because her Grams said their ancestors are from Salem. They were witches, apparently. Yeah, right. That stuff doesn't exist.

"You're really gonna run this whole physic thing into the ground aren't you?" Elena sighs, but she's not annoyed.

"Pretty much." Bonnie nods. Elena actually lets out a laugh at this one. Her expression suddenly turns serious as she looks past Bonnie. I look where her gaze is and see Jeremy walking into the bathroom, looking high. Wonderful. My little brother is high on the first day of school.

"I'll be right back." Elena growls before storming off towards Jer. I wave goodbye at Bonnie and run to catch up to my sister. She barges into the boy's bathroom causing me to smile. This will be fun to watch.

When we walk in a boy washing his hands shoots us weird looks and hurries out of the bathroom. Elena storms up to Jeremy and grabs his face, forcing him to look at her. "Great it's the first day of school and your stoned." Elena seethes.

Jeremy sighs, shaking his head. "No, I'm not." he lies. He sends me a 'help me' look but I just shrug. He can get out of this one himself. He did after all get himself into it.

"Is it on you?" Elena demands, looking through his pockets.

Jeremy pushes her away. "You need to chill yourself alright." I smile, this is getting fun.

"Chill myself? What is that stoner talk? Dude you are so cool." Elena responds sarcastically and continues searching through his pockets.

He pushes her away again. "Look stop! I don't have anything on me. Are you crazy?" he snaps.

"You haven't seen crazy Jeremy. I gave you a summer pass but I am done watching you destroy yourself." Elena scolds. Jer tries to stand up to leave but she pushes him back. "No, no, no. You know what? Go ahead keep it up but just know that we are going to be there to ruin your buzz every time. You got it?" Elena demands harshly. Go Elena! Someone walks out of a bathroom stall causing Elena to step away from Jeremy. "Jeremy I know who you are and it's not this person. So don't be this person." Elena says in a more gentle tone.

"I don't need this." Jeremy states, standing up and bumping shoulders with Elena on the way out. Elena turns around and watches him leave, I can tell she is frustrated.

"Don't worry Lena, he will come around." I say, even thought I don't really believe that.

"I really hope so Aria." she frowns. I nod and we head towards the door. Elena throws it open and turns quickly around the corner. I was about to warn her but it's too late she has already bumped into him.

"Uh, pardon me." hot back says from earlier. I look up at him and smirk. He is hot stuff. Elena is to busy staring at him to answer, I roll my eyes. He looks over at the door we came out of. "Uh...is this the mens room?" he asks, looking amused.

Elena looks over at the door. "Yes...um...I was just..uh." she can't seem to find the right answer. "It's a long story." she smiles after a few seconds of banter. He smiles back at her, and they just smile at each other for a few minutes. Eew, how cute.

"Come on Elena, we have to go." I say speaking for the first time. Hot back looks at me, a frown taking over his face. What is his problem?

Elena nods and steps forward at the same time he does. They smile at each other before both stepping the other way together. I roll my eyes, this is so childish. Hot back smiles and steps back holding out his hand in a gesture of go ahead.

"Thanks." Elena whispers and grabs my arm pulling me away from him. We walk down the hall and right as were about to turn the corner Elena turns around looking at him.

"Come on Elena." I laugh pulling her around the corner.

"Once our home state of Virginia joined confederacy in 1861, it created a tremendous amount of tension within the state...." that's where I stopped listening to what boring Mr. Tanner had to say about out stupid town. God, history is such a bore.

I look over at Matt who is sitting next to me, of course he is staring at Elena. He is so in love with my sister, it's not even funny. She broke up with him a while ago. He frowns as Elena looks back at hot back, giving him a smile. Hot back seems to like her eyes on him, smiling back at Elena. Seriously?

Bonnie pulls out her phone, texting someone. Matt leans over to try and read it. That little nosy quarterback.

She must have sent the text to Elena because I see Elena pull out her phone and read the message. Bad girls, using there phone in class. Elena smiles before putting her phone away. God, they are such girls sometimes. Oh wait, they are ones.

I sigh and put my head on my desk, this was going to be a long, long day.

=============

"His name is Stefan Salvatore. He lives with his uncle up at the old Salvatore boarding house. He hasn't lived here since he was a kid, military family so they moved around a lot. He's a gemini and his favorite color is blue." Caroline finishes, turning around with a smirk. Bonnie, Caroline and I were at the Mystic Grill hanging out after our first hell day of school. The Mystic Grill is really the only restaurant in town.

"You all got all that in one day?" I frown.

"Oh please, I got all that between third and fourth period." Caroline shrugs, proud of herself. She flips her bangs, "We're planning a June wedding." she says satisfied. She sees Matt and Tyler and waves to them walking over to their table. Bonnie and I stare at her back, trying not to burst out laughing. We look at each other and shrug, it's Caroline. She's always like this.

Bonnie and I follow Caroline over to their table. "What up boys?" I greet as we get there. They smile as they see me.

"Aria, haven't seen you in awhile." Tyler smirks, looking me up and down. I punch his arm.

"Don't check me out Ty, you're with Vicki." I tease. I see Matt frown at the fact his best friend is dating his sister. That has to be weird.

"Yeah about that, tell your brother to leave us alone." Tyler sighs, kind of pissed off.

I shrug. "It's not my problem, it's yours." I smirk sitting down next to him. He grins and throws a fry at me. I pick it up, throwing it back. Tyler is about to throw another one but Caroline grabs the plate away.

"They're to eat, not throw." she scolds. I smile innocently taking one off the plate and putting it in my mouth. She nods approvingly and sets them back down. Glad that fit her standards.

"Let's go play some pool." Tyler suggests, getting up from the table. Care and I grin, following him over to the pool table.

"I am so going to beat you Lockwood." I tease. I'm kind of all talk no game at pool and other athletic things.

"You wish Gilbert." he laughs, grabbing a pool stick. Care grabs one also, but she's probably not going to play. Tyler sets up the balls and starts to play. I decide not to, since I will get my ass kicked. Like I said, all talk no game people.

We're all laughing so hard but suddenly Caroline gets a pissed expression. Tyler and I turn around to see Stefan and Elena have just entered the bar together. Together I repeat. Wow, did not see that one coming. I look down at Matt and see his super ticked off expression. Poor guy. Matt gets up and heads over to them.

"Punch him, Matt." I taunt causing Tyler to laugh but Caroline punches me. "Ow." I mutter. Everyone watches as Matt introduces himself and shakes Stefan's hand. Matt looks over at Elena muttering a hi before exiting the bar. I feel for the guy, my sister broke his heart in two and didn't care enough to try and repair it.

================

"So, you were born in Mystic Falls?" Caroline asks him. Elena, Bonnie, Care and I are all sitting at a table with Stefan. Caroline is interrogating the guy, I feel kinda bad.

Stefan nods, "Yeah and I moved when I was still young."

"Parents?" Bonnie questions.

"My parents passed away." Stefan replies, looking over at Elena and I.

"I'm sorry." Elena apologizes. "Any siblings?" she asks changing the subject.

"None that I talk to." he smiles. I raise my eyebrows, so he does have a sibling. He is still staring at Elena, not breaking eye contact. "I live with my uncle."

Caroline looks over at me before clearing her throat getting there attention. "So Stefan if you're new then you don't know about the party tomorrow." Bonnie and I roll our eyes at Caroline's tactics.

"This back to school thing at the Falls." I clarify, not wanting him to think it is at her house or something.

Stefan looks over at Elena again. "Are you going?" he asks, all sexy like.

"Of course she is." I answer for Elena smiling. Elena looks over at me smiling a little forced. Opps, was I not suppose to say that or something? Oh well.

=================

"That Stefan guy is so into you Lena." I smirk, sitting down on her bed.

"No." she quickly denies causing me to roll my eyes.

"Elena you two were staring all lovingly at each other all dinner. I mean it looked like he was going to jump over the table and make out with you." I joke. Elena laughs and throws her hairbrush at me. I duck out of the way. "That's not nice." I pout.

Elena rolls her eyes. "Go to bed we have school in the morning." I smile and hop off the bed. On my way out I stop and make kissy faces at her. "Get out!" she yells playfully. I smirk and head to bed.

Messing with my sister is soooo fun.
