Apollo let his girl pick out what shop she wanted to search for an outfit in. As they entered the one she hesitantly chose, he stopped them just past the entrance.

"Hey," He spoke gently as he cupped her cheeks. "If you feel too nervous, or want to step out just tell me okay? We don't have to do this baby."

He made sure to keep reassuring her that she didn't have to go to the business party with him, and that she could back out at any time. Even when they shopped, at any point if she wanted to go home she knew to tell him so he could take her away and cuddle her at home away from everyone and everything she wasn't quite used to.

After she said she wanted to continue, she relaxed once his lips met her forehead gently.

"Hello, would you two like any help?" A female worker asked as they walked through the shop.

"We're looking for something for my girl."

"Any preferences in regards to lengths or colours?"

"Would you prefer anything baby?" He asked her more quietly, knowing Arabella would be too nervous to speak to the lady. "Long sleeves and preferably something floor length too." He repeated to the woman after Arabella whispered to him what she wanted. "Could we also have something red?"

"Of course, just follow me." With a kind smile she picked out a three options that were all red. "How about you go try these on? If you have any trouble I'll just be at the till."

Swallowing nervously whilst Apollo thanked the worker, she tugged at her fingers as she tried to look at the prices of the dresses.

"Don't even think about it." His fingers took ahold of her chin and quickly made her look into his eyes. "The prices don't matter."

"B-But they look so exp-"

"Doesn't matter, you're not paying for it anyways."

"W-What? I-I can't make you p-pay."

"You're not making me do anything. You're my girlfriend, and I invited you. I'm not making you pay." He gave her a look that made her next words mute. Kissing her cheek, he led her to a changing room. "Go try them on hmm? We can look for others if you don't like these." She nodded softly.

And she kissed his neck quickly before running into the changing room and shutting the door with a dark blush as she heard his chuckle.

Looking down at her three options, she immediately disliked one of them which seemed far too skin-tight. She looked at the other two and tried one of them on.

But when she felt uncomfortable with the scratchy sequins she pulled it back off and tried the third option.

Although she wanted to frown at the lack of long sleeves, she couldn't deny how beautiful it was. The top half fit perfectly and the small bow in the center of her waist just made it prettier. She also liked how free she was moving around in it as the skirt part flowed loosely.

As she admired the look of it in the mirror, she realised she felt pretty. A smile formed on her lips but it formed into a frown when she realized the scars on her arm could easily be seen.

Closing her eyes tightly, she tried not to let the guilt eat her up. She was the reason they were there. She had done it to herself. With her very own hands. And they would never go away.

"Baby? Is everything okay?" Apollo asked worriedly through the door after she was in there for a good fifteen minutes. Even though she wanted to lie and say she was, she also wanted to say she wasn't so he would hold her in his arms and make the thinking stop. "Just knock twice if you need me sweetheart. Just so I know my girl is okay hmm?"

The way he spoke so softly made the tears finally fall and although hesitantly, she knocked on the inside of the door twice.

"I'm coming inside okay? Knock twice if that's okay baby." His voice alone made her want him closer.

At the sound of her soft but rapid knocks, he walked into the changing room without being seen. Shutting the door behind him, he did a double take when he saw her.

Holy shit, my girl is gorgeous as fuck.

Quickly pulling himself together, he took her into his arms and let her cry against his chest.

"Shh I'm here now baby. I've got you my sweet girl."

Once her sobs quietened and her breathing calmed, he rubbed away any remaining tears gently.

"There we go sweetheart, keep taking nice, slow breaths for me." She listened to his words and once she could see and think straight, she stepped away quickly.

She glanced at his eyes that fell upon the permanent marks on her left arm but before she could turn and hide away, he held her still.

"You look beautiful." He whispered softly. "And I'm not just saying it for the sake of it. You..." She watched nervously as his eyes looked at every single inch of her. "You're the most beautiful woman I have ever seen." He stepped closer as she took another step back so her back was pressed against the mirror. His hand traced her scars lightly but his eyes stayed on hers. "Don't think about those. If you want to cover them up on the day then I'm fine with that, whatever makes you comfortable. But don't let them stop you from buying the dress. You're just showing people how strong you are baby."

He kissed a stray tear away.

"Y-You're n-not, not m-mad o-or, or going t-to m-make m-me cover t-them up?" The vulnerability in her voice made his heart clench.

"I would be crazy if I was mad at you for something like this baby. It's your choice whether you want to cover them up or not, but just know that you shouldn't have to hide them. You're still my pretty girl, whether they're visible or not."
