Free's pov

Valt was fast asleep cuddled by my side. I heard the little conversation Lui and Shu had. Atleast they are starting to get along. I closed my eyes falling asleep.

*growl*

What the-... I got up to inspect the noise. It was coming from above. I stood up and climbed the ladder peaking through the little hole in the wooden trap door. Shoot!

I climbed down and speed walked to Lui. But made sure my movement was quiet.

Free:Lui.
Lui:What?
Free:Clickers and runners both.
Lui:Right now?
Free:Their above us the wooden trap door isn't gonna hold long. Their standing on top of it.
Lui:What do we do?
Free:For now stay quiet and start packing. Wake up Shu, I'll wake Valt.

I walked over to Valt. Shaking him to wake him up.

Valt:Hmm.
Free:Wake up.
Valt:Nooo the foods running away~
Free:The what-.. Wake up.
Valt:Oh Free something wrong?
Free:Start packing we gotta leave.
Valt:Why?
Free:Valt zombies.
Valt:No are we gonna die?
Free:You won't die I'm here with you okay?
Valt:Okay.

Lui's pov

Lui:Shu. Shu wake up.
Shu:Whats wrong Lui?
Lui:Infected. Start packing.

I grabbed my back and starting stuffing my belongings in. Including my most treasured possession....

I looked back and saw Free, Valt and Shu were ready.

Lui:So whats the plan now?
Free:Easy we open the door and run.
Shu:Isn't that a bit dangerous?
Free:Well we have no other option they can bust in any moment.
Lui:Just keep your weapons close by.
Shu:Alright we open the door and run then loose the runners then we have to cause a noise distraction so the clickers loose us.
Free:Sounds good.
Valt:Umm..guys?
Shu:Yeah.
Valt:Can we team up again?
Lui:Can't believe I'm agreeing to this but for the first time valt thats a good idea.
Valt:Hey. *pouts*
Free:It's okay Valt.
Lui:So It's you and Valt. And me and Shu?
Free:Yeah. Can't believe you didn't resist this time.
Lui:Shut up.

I went to Shu and grabbed his hand firmly. I felt a warm feeling in my heart. I haven't gotten the same feeling after.... Her.

Lui:Your ankles still sprained right?
Shu:Yeah.
Lui:So run on my cue okay and hold my hand tighty. Okay?
Shu:Got it.
Free:Come on guys.

Free climbed up with Valt on his trail then me, then Shu. He busted the door open and jumped out, then Valt jumped out. I got out and pulled Shu up. After he got out I tightened my grip on his hand and started running.

Screeches and growls could be heard behind us. But we didn't stop we kept on running. Shu looked scared out of his mind. He reminded me of her..

Valt's pov

Valt:Guys!

I called out. We were running with Lui and Shu leading. My let got caught in a vine and I can't get it untangled. Lui and Shu both stopped after hearing me scream. Free turned around and quickly ran over to me, pulling the vine he made it split into two.

Free:You okay?
Valt:Yeah.

Those zombie sounds started coming again.

Free:We gotta move. C'mon Valt.

We ran with our hands in tangled together.

We ran for what seemed like hours (Actually they ran for 20 minutes but you know Valt).

Lui:What now?
Free:We go to the safe camps.
Valt:Okay is Shu okay though?
Lui:What do you mean?

Shu's pov

All that running made me put so much pressure on my ankle it hurts more now. I winced in pain. I thought it went unnoticed but Valt saw it. Lui turned around and slowly approached me.

Lui:Hey you okay?

He asked me in a very sweet tone. It made my heart melt. What is wrong with me?

Shu:Yeah just applied to much force on it.
Lui:Can you walk?
Shu:Yeah.
Lui:Okay.

Lui intervened our hands together.

Lui:Lets go.
Shu:O.. Okay.

His touch makes me feel safe.

Lui's pov

You remind me too much of her Shu....

I couldn't fulfill my promise then. But I will now. I will protect you
Kurenai Shu. No matter what.
